I'm trying to set up a non-profit group and obviously I need people who are willing to back me. Information is on this thread. Please look at the links that I've provided there if you are interested.

The goal of this group would be to raise awareness of human rights abuses and do fund raising for groups which assist North Korean refugees.
The group would not express any politcal views, liberal or conservative or endorse any specific parties or candidates as a whole. This would be left to individual members. PM me or post here if interested. Thanks!

Well even though you say that the group would express no political views, it is my political views that would keep me from aiding certain kinds of refugees.

Fair enough.. That's not exactly what I meant though. Obviously, the fact that North Korea has nuclear weapons is a very touchy subject. Even if it weren't people, no doubt, will have different ideas as to how the problem should be resolved and if the government should do anything about it.
When I said the group wasn't political I think I gave a decent explanation on what grounds it was not political. I also hadn't taken into account that it might actually be against someone's political convictions to help refugees.

However, North Korean refugees, if you are wondering, are nothing like illegal aliens. They don't cross the border into China just because things are kinda rough and they want to work in McDonalds. They cross the border because of EXTREME famine in the country. Furthermore one could relate this to political just as much as economic status. Perhaps moreso.
Any food that North Korea does have goes to party loyalists, those not favored by the communist party starve. Ergo, they suffer because of politcal association, ergo they ARE politcal refugees and not merely economic migrants. I don't know if you bothered to actually read the topic I posted or not, but the URL for the thread is on the page along with other information from several sights. I have also posted more information here
http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15389495&. Those who spend a little time to look into the situation would hopefully quickly realize that North Korean refugees in China are indeed worthy of help.
