Why does Cloud always have to use omni-slash to kill sephiroth? Couldn't he just like, cut him in half?

He doesn't, If you have enough hp to survive hes attack clould'll counter attack and kill him.

yeah thats about it, also that fight is realy just a introduction to omnislash if you havent got it already.

no i mean in the movie. When he got his strength back, why didn't he just like use blade beam to distract him and then cut him in half? It would have been much easier.

To make it look cool, besides so many would be disapointed if they didn't see omnislash.

U know when he's fallin off that cliff like thing.

Well more so on the whole Cloud staying airbourne and such. That even if it wasn't realistic it didn't matter, so long as it looked cool. But that's my wording not a direct quote.

The move itself is called Omnislash: Mark V

just remebered in the game you dont have to use omnislash on seph, stand about for long enough and seph should attack you and if you have enough hp to survive cloud will just counter (as if he had counterattack materia equiped), there you dont need to use clouds limit to beat sephiroth at the end.
