Supposly, the new pope was apart of "Hitler`s Youth". I donno...that is what is going around. So if I could have someone confirm this,maybe this is the new face of the catholic church:Catholic Nazism. I dont know.....who knows...i might be wrong..but yeah.......oh i almost forgot, Yay a new pope, actually Im not catholic so I dont care......

The new pope is obviously German, and he obviously was alive through WWII. I will assume that though the duration of WWII the new pope lived in Germany. Now, you do understand that many German citizens had little if any choice at all of being a Nazi. The only way they could get out of being a Nazi, was to a) die, b) move to another country that was not allied with the Nazi powers. So, a lot of the German citizens went along with being a Nazi just so they could survive.

Now, you do understand that many German citizens had little if any choice at all of being a Nazi. The only way they could get out of being a Nazi, was to a) die, b) move to another country that was not allied with the Nazi powers. So, a lot of the German citizens went along with being a Nazi just so they could survive. The program he was in was a bit like Boy Scouts, but harsher, with no intellectual aspect, to groom boys to become soldiers. However, he was not in it for very long, and I suspect it wasn't so much his choice. His participation in that program does not make him a Nazi, nor doe it mean that we will see some absurdity known as Catholic Naziism.

However, he was only a member whilst it was compulsory. After which he left for ordination.

It was never compulsory. Records show he joined during a period when other people who applied were being rejected.
Most Germans felt it was their duty to protect their Fatherland. They saw Germany, the Sudetenland, and mayble part of Poland as rightfully theirs, and worthy of defending.
In contrast, many men of the cloth joined the American military during WWII. And America didn't have the full backing of the Catholic Church like Germany did!

I heard That the New pope was one of Hitler's Generals and that he was a diserter but I don't believe what The Nazi Pope says.
He may of killed many Jewish people.

Yes.It was like the boy scouts and just because he was part of it dosent make him a nazi.It was really only the SS and some leaders that were true nazi fanatics.Most German Soliders were just serving their country.If he was in the youth so what,he wasent a nazi,just had national pride.

He may of killed many Jewish people. Ratzinger was born in 1927. Show me an army with 17-year-old Generals! Desertion is not quite the right word: He pretented to be sick, so he was send home. Please check the facts, before posting such trash!

Imagine, what would happen, if your christian youth group or your boyscouts would be taken over by the army? You are a 15 year old boy, you and your friends shall defend together with a veteran some unimportant bridges or handle a flak. Sure you would do it for money, but the brainwashed kids of the 1940's did it for honour an Fatherland or because they had no alternative.
