Bipolar is my self diagnosis and recently my mom has started to believe I have it as well.
I don't know if this is just me but sometimes I am in a great mood and all with no problems (& yes I am on medication for dysthymia, my current diagnosis) and for example, my friend tells me that she and all my friends went to the mall without me the other day because I was working. After that, I just start getting upset for this stupid reason and wander back to my room. I then start crying and think of all the things that people do without me and why they do it... I go on to question if they like me and then slip into a period of depression.
I am aware my meds aren't strong enough.
My question is: Is this something that would happen to someone with BPD? Are there or aren't there triggers? Examples?

You shouldn't attempt to diagnose yourself. If you're really questioning this, then talk to your therapist. If you look in the threads within this guild, you'll find links to several resources. Here's another: Quote: What are the types of bipolar disorder? Bipolar disorder can take several forms, depending upon the severity, frequency, and duration of the manic and depressive episodes. Everyone diagnosed with bipolar disorder has had at least one of the following in their lifetime: manic episode hypomanic episode – Not as severe as mania. Usually does not affect work or relationships. Not associated with hospitalization. mixed episode – Manic activation, with a depressed mood. Notice that a depressive episode is not necessary for a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. About ten per cent of those with bipolar disorder have never had depressive episodes. The types of bipolar disorder are defined by the above episodes: Bipolar Disorder Type I – The most severe type of bipolar disorder, and the classic type. At least one manic or mixed episode that lasts at least a week. Bipolar Disorder Type II – At least one hypomanic episode and one major depressive episode, in a lifetime. Never a manic episode. Cyclothymic Disorder – Within two years (one year for children and adolescents), numerous periods with hypomanic symptoms, and other periods with mild depressive symptoms. No major depression, and no mania. No symptom-free period of longer than two months. Source: Helpguide.org - bipolar disorder

Fletchen brings up a very good point. Do not attempt to diagnose yourself - have a pyshciatirst or psychologist to do it for you.
I'd suggest writing a list of your symptoms down before you go see someone to get diagnosed. It makes things a lot easier - also - a list of medications you've been on for whatever your current diagnosis is.

I don't fully trust it. My mom is also starting to think I have BPD. It's kinda just research on the topic.

Right now I'm a bit stuck because my doctor says I'm only bordering on bipolar (tend to be in moderate to severe depression with the occasional week of mixed behavior). My mother, grandmother, and grandfather all have/had bipolar, so there's concern that it'll develop fairly soon (my mother's first manic episode was when she was 16). The medication I'm on right now is used primarily to treat bipolar, so in a way it's kind of precautionary. Yeah...
I hope that didn't sound too weird.

I'm sorry that you're 'stuck' - that must be rough. My bipolar is hereditary but no one will admit it. Haha. Manic episodes are not fun - at least mine aren't.
What do they have you on if you don't mind me asking?

Right now, I'm on Lamictil, Prozac (for anxiety) and Ritalin (for the ADHD, constant fidgeting, and thoughts moving too fast for even I to follow them).
I do tend to mood swing a lot, and often I feel rushed, like I need to do a lot in a short ammount of time, and get semi panic-like mode. Usually this is accompanied with moderate to severe self-dislike/hatred. My medicine (which I am now trying hard to take faithfully) is helping me control that, which is nice. I hate feeling panicked.

I'm on Lamictal, I've been on Prozac, and I've almost been put on Ritalin (for depression...or maybe I've been on it - I've been on so many meds. that I've forgotten which one's I have and haven't been on).
I've been having lots of anxiety/panicky feelings. It's been killing me, because I can't ask to be put on more meds. (I don't want more meds, I'm already on 6).
Mood swings suck. I'm often depressed. A lot. Like..'Why bother doing anything' depressed. *sighs* I hope that you're able to find some relief with meds. and what not. My PM Inbox is always open if you'd like to chat.

Unfortunately, I can't ask for more meds until I start taking mine regularly. Right now I take them sparatically, and while I think the doses are fairly decent, I've still felt really awful because I haven't given my anti-deps time to level in my system.
God, my self-esteem sucks right now. I've just been feeling absolutely terrible, maybe 8ish/10 on the suicidal scale.
Bah, I need a boob job. emo

That's interesting. Wow. I've never know the difference between Bipolar I disorder and bipolar II disorder.
