This annoys me.
Suddenly, fish aren't meat.
And fish aren't animals either.
I don't say I'm a vegetarian anymore because of that. I say I "don't eat animals." That's pretty simple.
Discuss.

I think theres a special name for a person who only eats fish and not other animals... (Like me) But I don't know... I think it might start with a 'Pes' at the beginning of the word...
I would really like to know why people don't consider fish a meat also... Maybe because theres so many of them?

Kelsi B-nelsi I think theres a special name for a person who only eats fish and not other animals... (Like me) But I don't know... I think it might start with a 'Pes' at the beginning of the word...

The technical term is pesco-vegetarianism, but people that eat fish but no other meat are called a pescetarian (despite common English pronunciation rules, the "c" in this word is pronounced as a "k" and not an "s") or (less commonly) a semi-vegetarian.
It's the same way with chicken, but I find that people ask about fish a lot more often.
I know more than one people have had experiences with this. Please share, all!

fish is not a vegetable. end of story. neither is chicken, so don't even ask that.
you can eat them and be a semi-vegetarian, but not vegetarian. I have very strong beliefs as far as that goes.

Its called being a pescatarian. I'm a pescatarian, and I feel terrible about it. But I live in a meat-lovers family and I'm 15, so I get no say in what is bought and if I don't eat fish, Basically, I die. The day I move out, is the day I stop eating fish. (Or get a job and buy my own damned food!) heart Della

Eating fish and/or chicken and claiming to be a vegetarian annoys me... A lot. Fish and chicken are meat in my opinion and it really bothers me when people claim to be vegetarian, yet eat one or both.
