Call And Answer

I think it's getting to the point
Where I can be myself again
I think it's getting to the point
Where we have almost made amends
I think it's the getting to the point
That is the hardest part.

And if you call, I will answer
And if you fall, I'll pick you up
And if you court this disaster
I'll point you home

You think I only think about you
When were both in the same room
I'm only here to witness
The remains of love exhumed
You think were here to play
A game of who loves more than whom

And if you call, I will answer
And if you fall, I'll pick you up
And if you court this disaster
I'll point you home

You think its only fair to do what's
Best for you and you alone
You think it's only fair to do the same
To me when you're not home
I think its time to make this something that is
More than only fair

So if you call, I will answer
And if you fall, I'll pick you up
And if you court this disaster
I'll point you home.

But I'm warning you, don't ever do
Those crazy, messed up things that you do
If you ever do
I promise you I'll be the first to crucify you
Now it's time to prove that youve come back
Here to rebuild.

About Leimoni

Leimoni spent the majority of her youth alone, and came to be a perfectionist. She needed everything to follow a sequence so that her life could fit into a mold. Her first Adventure! took place near the pond, with another grifflet named Kiyoshi. After hatching in the field, surrounded by tall grasses for her safety, she heard Kiyoshi's cries for help.

She tried to mold Kiyoshi and her friend, Calamity, to fit her needs. However, she found that by attempting to do so, she only upset them. She would tell them how to feel, think and act.

Leaving Kiyoshi, she stumbled upon a 'griff by the name of Tin, who promptly adopted her. Planning to treat Tin as she had treated Kiyoshi, Leimoni was shocked to discover that she loved this griff, and didn't want to do anything to upset her. It was then and there that Leimoni gave up her need for perfection. Her new goal was simply to be the best daughter and big sister to Rin, Tin, and their eggs.

Unfortunatly, now that she has lost her need to lie and form situations to meet her needs, Leimoni has become a very protective, suspicious 'griff.

She met Kiyoshi, and asked for forgiveness. The two flew high in the sky together, their friendship rekindled. All seems to be going well.

Stay tuned.

Friends and Random 'Griffs

User Image
Kiyoshi

Kiyoshi was the first 'griff Leimoni met, back when she was full of plans and mischeif. Leimoni saved Kiyoshi's life, and now thinks of her fondly as a good friend. They hit a rough spot when Leimoni decided that they should no longer be friends because it didn't fit with the 'plan', but made up later.

User Image
Calamity

Leimoni met Calamity shortly after saving Kiyoshi. Calamity was a VERY close friend of Kiyoshi's, and they are presently mates. Leimoni doesn't like what she saw of Calamity: an obsessive, controlling freak.

User Image
Tinuviel

Tinuviel stumbled upon Leimoni sitting in a field, during an outing away from her newly-hatched babies. When Tin learned that Lei was an orphan, she adopted her. Lei loves her, and now refers to her as "Mother". Tin also taught Lei how to hunt rabbit.

User Image
Aneirin

After Tin decided to adopt Lei, she had to run it by her mate, Aneirin. Although Lei refers to him as "Father", he still seems a little standoffish.

Leimoni Meets Kiyoshi and Calamity

Kiyoshi rolls around in some mud while trying to catch a butterfly. Mud splashes all around the little mud hole, making Kiyoshi completely brown except the top of her head where a little bit of blue is. He brightly blue eyes look as if glowing from the mass of browness about her.

"Come back here you little!" She chirps as the butterfly carelessly flies around her head and then flies slowly westward. Kiyoshi then tries to scrable to get out of the mud, but it's quite hard. If you've ever been stuck in mud, you'd know how it just sucks you back every time you try to move. Kind of like quick sand, just you don't go down as far.

"EEK!" She was now stuck in the mud. What a wonderful day to get stuck in. The moment when she wanted to catch a butterfly as it just flies by her head. She stopped and started chirping loudly to have someone help her out. Or perhaps Zailan will come to her rescue.

No one came. Now getting mad, she starts to try to get out again. It was really frustrating for a little grifflet to get stuck in mud and not have anyone to help her at all. What is wrong with them! They should be there when she needs them! She starts to cry from her frustration.

Leimoni blinked her large green eyes, looking about the area. She'd never been outside of her nest before, and this was sure to be an adventure. Murming to herself, she went over her plans. "Leave nest.... check. Be super pretty..... check." She rolled her eyes, preening herself to make sure she looked just right.

"Weird friend...." She paused, tilting her head to one side. She was somewhat of a perfectionist, and she wanted this day to go well. She heard something, and paused. It was a grifflet in trouble! Adventure?....Check! She tried to indicate the area of the noise.

"A struggle to save someone! That's what's needed!" She muttered. She took in a deep breath and hollered, "WHERE ARE YOU?"

Satisfied, she gave a little nod. That sounded heroic enough.

Kiyoshi heard another grifflet. Is this possible? Did someone hear me? OMG, I saved! She started to squirm in place and flapped her little wings making more mud fly every where.

"Over here! Help! Someone!" She chirped even louder so that the other one could hear her. It wasn't a voice she reconized. Was it a new grifflet? Sweet! More grifflets to meet.

She was still flapping her wings and yelling out. "Over by the mud!" She giggled to herself as tears cleaned some of her face of mud."Well, in the mud" You could see bits of blue and brown mixed. But mostly brown since the mud was all over her. She'd need a huge bath after this. Good thing she knew where a puddle of water was.

Leimoni puffed herself up, trying to make herself look powerful. She tried to deepen her voice, bringing about a comedic sound (much to her dispair) calling, "Don't worry! I'll save you!"

She hopped furiously over to the mud, striking a heroic pose on a nearby log. "Stunning turn of events.... check, Now where's my evil villan?"

She cocked her head, pondering where should could find an evil villan at this time of day. Her bright green eyes lit up. "Riiiiight!" How could she have forgotten? The evil villan doesn't show up until the hero has almost saved the victim.

She looked around the mudhole, seeing only a spot of blue at the surface. "Are you the funny looking mushroom?" She whispered, not wanting to break out of character.

Kiyoshi looked mad. Mushroom? MUSHROOM? She settled down in thought that she might scare away her hero.

"Please help me. I got myself stuck in this stuff trying to catch a butterfly" She says pleadingly. She really did want to get out. She hated to be stuck in sticky situations.

"It's trying to eat me!" she chirped believing it might actually eat her. It was sucking her making her stay there. What if it was taking all her blood, or her brain. She chirped louder in a way of saying "PLEASE HURRY UP, I'M GOING TO DIE!" type thing.

Finally she relaxes. Maybe it only tries to eat you if you try to get out. OMG! It's been eating me this whole time! "EEK" She said as she held completely still in one spot.

She shook her head, amused. Silly little victims. Always doing stupid things that required... She paused.... a HERO like herself to save them from dispair!

She leapt into the mud, splashing it everywhere, her perfect white feathers turned a dull, dingy brown. "Be brave, now." She cautioned the grifflet into her role.

Then, without warning, she arched her neck and took one of the griff's feathers in her beak, pulling, trying to drag her out of the mud. "A hero's job is never easy..." she grunted, tugging furiously.

Oh great, now we are both stuck, she thought sitting there eyes half shut from being upset. She just sat there while she was getting pulled. It didn't feel too good, but it didn't hurt either.

She giggled, thinking about the mud that's all over her. She never has ventured in deep mud before. Normally she was under close eye with Zailan. But she hasn't seen him in a while. He didn't even come home that night she took off. Perhaps he is trying to find her? She shook her head and forgot about it. He knew exactly where she was, so she thought.

She stopped pulling. How did superheros do this everyday? Risking their necks while their victims just sat quietly and did nothing... It didn't seem like the right kind of life for her.

She turned to face the other hypogriff. "Okay, this is how it goes," She stated cooly, just so the other would understand. "I'm Leimoni. I don't know who you are, but this is my first day out of the nest. My job is to go on an adventure and make a new best friend. Are you going to help me or not?" She got a little exasperated at the end, but everything had to be perfect!

Kiyoshi thought for a moment. She always liked new friends. She noded. "Ok, I'll help. Oh, I'm Kiyoshi. Most of my friends call me Kiyo for short though." she never really understood the short names thing. She always called them by their real name.

Leimoni, what a funny name, she thought. But without another thought to it she started to flap her wings as if to swim towards the edge of the mud whole. Boy, was she tired from all this. So much work for a little one. She didn't care though, she'll still have some energy, since she was a very hyper little griffidy.

She bobbed her head, glad that this Kiyo could understand her situation. "Good." She gave a little chirp, and poked Kiyo in the back with her beak. "Let's get a move on, then. I'm suspossed to save you, and then you owe me for the rest of your life until at one point you save me."

Leimoni had this all planned out, from hatchling to adult. She knew just how she wanted to life to go, and how perfect it was all going to be set up.

Kiyoshi didn't know what to say. As they reached the edge she tried to flop up, but failed. She tired it again this time making it pretty well. She was finally out of the mud. OMG! I'm saved!

"THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!" she chirped.

Leimoni used a last bit of strength to jump up onto the edge of the mudswap, almost falling in again. She tried to make herself look taller, and puffed herself up. "No problem. Just another day's work." She tilted her head to make herself look regal.

She peered down at herself, finally realizing that she was no longer a beautiful white, but brown. "Ewwwww." She squealed, realizing this would have to be the price she would pay for friendship.

Kiyoshi giggled. "Don't worry. There's a pound just over there. We can clean ourselves of." She started to wobble, mud dirpping off of her leaving a trail behind her. More bits of blue where showing, but hardly showing.

She stoped and looked back. "Well, come on! This way now" She started to wobble again toward the direction of the pound. Which was in plain sight. You could see it for miles. Well, ok. You couldn't, but still.

She sighed and toddled after Kiyo. Things were going just the way they should, and that pleased her. Bits of brown dripped off her wings, revealing her bright yellow feathers. Her eyes gleamed in the hot sun.

"Is it far?"

That's right, trade information. Let her become as valuble to you as you are to her. That's right, she thought, her eyes closing, threatening to cause the rest of her body to fall asleep.

Kiyoshi shook her head. "No it's not far, just a bit down this trail.' She said wobbling faster. "Quickly now." she said looking back seeing the half sleepy grifflet. Well that's not fun!

Finally almost in reach of the water whole. Almost time to be clean! "Where here, just a few more steps and we'll be in the water" Kiyoshi announced.

She toddled along, willing herself to wake up. A long, grueling journey? What was better than to bring two friends together? She made her way up the trail so she was toddling next to Kiyo.

She gave a leap, missing the water, landing on a smooth patch of grass. She sighed and closed her eyes, rolling into the cold, refreshing water.

"Cleeeeeeeannn." She cooed, sighing happily.

Calamity awoke laying on the hill. "Kiyo!" he yelled. He wanted to be around her and talk. "Kiyo." Looking around he still couldn't see her.

Kiyoshi finally jumped into the nice cool water. Cleanness, she thought. Where she jumped in was now like a brown milky color. Almost like Chocolate milk. She bobbed up with her blueself again. Bright as ever.

Out from the distance she could hear her name. Who was it? It was kind of too far to hear. Then she listend closer. Was it Calamity, or Kore. She called out.

"OVER HERE!" She chirpped excitivly.

Leimoni flicked open an eye. Conflict? Already? Excellent!

"Who's that, Kiyo?" She asked suspiciously, trying to act like she hated the idea of anyone butting into their new-found bestfriendship.

She was rather clean now, except for a muddy spot on the very top of her head. She quickly dunked herself over, flapping her wings to get all the mud out from under each feather.

Calamity head Kiyo then made his way over to her. Not seeing a slight drop of the Earth into a small pond he ran right over it and into the water. Blushing in embarsment he smiled.

"Hiya Kiyo." Peering over the edge he saw someone else "Hello." Smiling he went over and started playing with Kiyo's tail.

Kiyoshi jumped on Calamity. "Calamity!" she squeeked. She started biting his now wet feathers and getting him wet more by jumping on him and pushing him under the water.

She stopped bitting him and looked over at Leimoni. "Leimoni, this is Calamity. Calamity, this is Leimoni." She said in a cheerful voice. She liked when her other friends met more of her friends. She wanted them all to be friends together. Her tail wans now wagging in the water making small spashes behind her.

"Hello." She said, strictly in a monotone. This was so PERFECT! There'd be a conflict, this Calamity fellow would love Kiyo, and she'd love him, and their love would blind them to Lei's depression!

Now, she had to pretend she hated him. With her amazing acting skills, that should be easy enough to do. She flashed him a dark look, then got to work on preening her feathers, ignoring the fact that he was even there.

"Hiya," he said stoping. "Nice to meet you." he could tell something was up. Looking into the sky his eyes sparkeled then he returned to his swiming and chasing after Kiyo's tail.

Kiyoshi didn't notice a thing. Without even seeing what Leimoni was doing she jumps right on her and starts to bite at her tail. This was fun. She didn't even notice that Calamity was trying to bite hers.

She wasn't the sharpest little grifflet, but she knew how to have fun. She loved jumping on everyone and anything. If it moved, it was fair game. She chirped as she tried to grab at Leimoni's tail again.

'This is fun!" she let out a giggle.

Leimoni's eyes widened as her tail was bit. "Ouch!" she turned around in mock-anger, attempting to toss Kiyo off her head. She made her way to the edge of the pond, trying to jump up to the bank.

She failed and, turning around to face Kiyo and Calamity, said coldly, "I better go."

Calamity was probably a very nice 'griff, but her life wouldn't be perfect if she was going to accept him with open arms now, wasn't it?

She continued to murmer to herself, plotting her next point of action. "Best friend.... check. Conflict..... check. Fight.... check. New pack of friends to try to take the place of old bestfriend...." She pondered where she could find a new friend.

Calamity smiled and looked at Lemoni "Bye.." he said forwning a little then going after Kiyo's tail again. Managing to get a few fethers he smiled. Bowing his head he lifted it up the feather in his beak.

Kiyoshi's smile was blown from her face. Now was just a frown and some tears in her eyes. She now knew what was going on. Leimoni didn't like Calamity so she was leaving.

"Where are you going?" She asked. Tears sitting at the edge of her eyes. Friends mean the most to her, and she never lost a friend before so it was kind of painful. It really made her sad that the other one didn't like Calamity. But why?

She paused, her back still turned to Kiyo. She hadn't expected her to say anything. Ugh. Maybe the story was to take a different turn? But that wouldn't be perfect! Her brain screamed at her.

She whirled around to face her, upset that this griff couldn't understand the plot and development of their story. Flopping down on the ground, she heaved a sigh.

"Look. If you want to be my bestfriend, you have to follow the script. Numer one: We become bestfriends, by way of Adventure!. Number two: Problems because a bestfriend gets a boyfriend and the other bestfriend feels that they aren't loved anymore. Number three: I get new friends, but we loved each other all along, and go back to being friends anyway."

She shot her a bored expression. "Got it?" She was tired of having to explain her story.

Calamity got tears in his eyes. Running away to the edge of the lake he ran past Lemoni and sat on the edge of the small sandy beach. Crying he felt he had ruined a friendship. "I am sorry I did this Kiyo and Lemoni." Looking up tears ran down his face.

Whiping the tears from her eyes, she really didn't get it. They were friends, then they weren't, then they will be down the road? Ok, that's what she meant? Well why can't they just be friends the whole time? And what was a boyfriend? Perhaps that's what Calamity was. She kind of shruged.

"Well, I guess I get it. " Whiping the other eye. It made her feel a little better that she was still her friend, but was pretending not to be. She watched as Calamity wobbled off and started crying. She wobbled over to him to see if he was ok..

"It's ok. " she said patting him on the back with her tiny wing. All in good time this'll make sence to her. But for now she was just too little to understand many things. She sniffled again.

Leimoni had clearly been spending too much time with Cosi, trying to make her life a parallel to hers. Cosi had told her not to expect things to always turn out a certain way, because it never would. Well, she'd show Cosi. She had life working out just as she wanted it.

"Good, very good, Calamity!" She called, nodding her little head in approval. "Good acting." She watched, still nodding, as Kiyo went after Calamity. "Excellent. Take his side... yes. Perfect!" She exclaimed.

"Aaaaaaand...... action!"

She went back into character, giving a sniff, feeling very alone. She toddled down the path, waiting to find her new friends that she would leave shortly.

Leimoni Is Adopted By Tinuviel

Tinuviel breathed deeply, finally able to relax. She hadn't realised how much she had missed being alone! Always having the children around was exhausting, and although she loved Aneirin dearly, she sometimes got a little snippy at him. Time apart would be ideal.

And as she landed in the field, she spotted a bright splash of yellow. A young griff! Tin hadn't met any new Griffs in so long... Happily, she walked over to the young girl.

"Hello," she offered brightly.

Leimoni had been sitting alone in the field, not far from the pond where she had her first Adventure! when she was only a hatchling. Now an adolesent, she was a little upset, wanting the plot to move faster. New friends... , she pondered to herself. Where can I get new friends?. A sound behind made her jump. She whirled around, spotting another hippogriff. This one seemed nice. Excellent. She grinned, and chirped a pleasant "Hello."

"Aren't you lonely, being here all alone?" Tin asked, taking a seat next to the pretty yellow griff. What a nice spot the young one has picked, Tinuviel silently admired. A pond, lots of sunshine, flowers all around... How calming.

Tinuviel had come all this way to be alone, but meeting someone new was even better. Even if it was a young one, a new friend was a welcome change of pace.

She quickly sized up the adult, noticing her beautiful violet feathers. She shook her head quickly. Get back to your character! She silently chided herself. Turning her gaze to the ground, she said sadly, "I have no friends. I only know what it's like to be alone." Good, very good. She slowly turned her head to face the 'griff. "What did you say your name was?"

It might have been Tin's newly developed motherly instinct, but something struck her heart strings HARD.

"Oh, you poor little dear! I'll be your friend!" She exclaimed, her striken expression apt to bring tears of sympathy from anyone. "No one should have to be alone ALL the time! What about your family, a mother and father?" She leaned towards the lonely little griff, and petted her neckfeathers consolingly with her beak.

"My name is Tinuviel, and if you ever need ANYTHING at all, I will be here for you!"

Leimoni sniffed, looking up at Tinuviel with hope in her eyes. A new friend, AND a motherly figure to guide me til the end! A welcome addition! She silently cheered. She leaned closer to her, resting her head. "I don't know... the day I cracked out of my egg... no one was there. I... I..." She was getting close to tears, she had never considered the fact that she was an orphan. "I don't think I have a mother or father." She managed to get the words out, a look of depression coming over her face. Her wings drooped, and her yellow feathers seemed to lose their sparkle. She looked up, her eyes brimming. "Thank you. Thank you, Tinuviel."

If Tin would have had a lower lip, it would have been quivering from restrained emotion. The purple griff had never before realized how lucky she was to have a loving family. And now, she had a little family of her own, and this poor child had no one...

"What's your name?" she asked quietly, moving to sit closer to the yellow girl and give her a motherly griff-hug, getting the smaller girl to sit between her two front legs so Tin could loom over her, protecting her. "And if my mate allows it, I would gladly adopt you!" she continued soflty, her voice hopeful, trying to cheer up the poor little griff.

Leimoni's tears spilled over, getting caught on her feathers. It was odd. She wasn't acting anymore. She actually had feelings. She blinked, unable to believe this true flow of emotion coming out of her. Were those tears really hers? She couldn't be sure.

Turning, she buried her head into Tin's feathers near her chest. She felt warm, and safe. She leaned back. "My name is Leimoni." She pressed her wet beak back into Tin's feathers. She heaved a sigh, her body shaking from the emotion she was feeling.

"Thank you..... Mom."

"My pretty little daughter," Tinuviel sang, smiling. She felt good, warm inside... Being a mother was truly agreeing with her. She had never felt so good, not even when she flew up to the clouds. "My little Leimoni." Tilting her beak down, Tinuviel caressed Leimoni's head.

"Now, now... No more tears, okay? There's nothing to be sad about anymore, is there? You'll have a Mother who loves you, and a Father too! And even a little sister and two little brothers." Tin suddenly realised that Leimoni might not have known about sudden siblings... She hoped the newest addition to her family wouldn't be jealous.

Leimoni nodded slowly. A family. A smile crossed her face. Family would be nice. She leaned against Tin, thinking of all the things they could do together. And siblings... she'd protect them. They'd come to love her, not caring if she was a part of the family. She closed her eyes again. Suddenly, her eyes flew open, her smile disappearing.

"What if they don't like me?" She worried, her eyes whirling around, rapidly thinking of all that could go wrong.

Tinuviel laughed, her own worries lifting away when she saw how Leimoni felt. "Don't be silly, how could they not? Rin, -that's my mate's name, you new Father- loves children, and when he learns of your plight he'll love you just as I do. As for your new siblings, they're just hatchlings, they would love anything if it played with them," she giggled. "The three younglings will grow up having you around, so to them you'll always be their sister. It won't even be questioned."

She smiled down at her daughter. "There's nothing to worry about. Alright? Now let's get your mind off all these worrisome wonderings; when's the last time you ate a good, hearty meal? You're so small!" Tin got up and took a few steps, waiting to see if Leimoni would want to follow.

Leimoni Goes Hunting

Leimoni nodded again, but remained unsure of how Rin and the others would take to her. She watched Tin begin to move away, cocked her head and decided right there that she would be a different 'griff from now on. She would find Kiyoshi and apologize, and stop trying to make her world perfect. She was now free to be herself, because she knew she was loved, and would continue to be loved.

She took a few steps after her new mother. "Well... I had a few worms yesterday." She shrugged. She didn't quite know what a 'good, hearty meal' was. She grinned and pranced over to Tin, ready to follow her anywhere.

Tinuviel blinked at her daughter. "A few worms?! Oh goodness, nonono! Come on, let's get you something good to eat." With that, Tinuviel trotted to the forest's edge, always making sure to keep her step no faster than Leimoni could follow.

"I don't suppose you've ever eaten rabbit?" she asked with a mischievious sparkle in her eye. Rabbit had been her favorite as a child. She wondered if Leimoni would like it as much. "Time for your first hunting lesson!"

She began to follow Tin, then paused in midstep. "Rabbit?" She repeated, with a c**k of her eyebrow. She didn't even know what a rabbit was! "Um... what's rabbit?" She asked, a puzzled look on her face. Hunting? That was an even more foregin concept. "What's hunting?"

Leimoni didn't know very much, even as an adolesent. No one had taught her anything, except for Kiyoshi. And Kiyoshi had only taught her what mud was, and how to get stuck in it.

Tinuviel smiled at Leimoni and motioned her closer when they reached the first trees of the forest. Here in the shadowy places, there were rabbit holes. And where there are rabbit holes, there are usually rabbits.

"Hunting," began Tin as she slowed her step to a careful stalk, making sure to show Leimoni how she was carefully placing each hoof so that the younger griff could copy, "is how someone tracks down dinner and catches it. And that," she motioned with her beak, her voice lowering below a whisper now, "is a rabbit."

A few trees away, a hapless bunny was chewing a clover, unaware of the two approaching griffs.

"You have to be veeeery quiet, and get as close as you can. When you're close enough to tackle it, Jump! Want to give it a try?"

Leimoni scurried over to stand beside Tin. She watched the little things jump around, her eyes growing to the size of dinner plates. She crouched, nodding to Tin. The forest was eerily silent. She inched herself foreward, crunching on a leaf. She flinched, the rabbit perking its ears. Moni drew in a deep breath, held it, and closed her eyes, trying to blend in to the background. She felt like she was about to burst, but she couldn't disappoint Mother. She flicked open an eye curiously. The rabbit had gone back to eating.

She let the breath out slowly, then inched a little closer again. She wiggled, ready to jump at it. She braced herself, then jumped into the air. Wait a minute. She wasn't jumping. A confused look came upon her face as her hooves got tangled and she fell to the ground, the rabbit vanishing into the hole.

Tinuviel winced as Leimoni face-planted. She trotted closer and smiled, chuckling under her breath. "That was a wonderful first try, Leimoni!" she whispered. "The first time I tried it, I didn't get even half as close as you managed! I'm sure you'll get one next time." She nodded proudly at the little yellow girl, and starting moving slowly forward, looking for another rabbit. "Let's try to find another one for you, shall we?"

Leimoni staggered up, her white feathers now more of a brown/green colour after having an intimate meeting with the forest floor. Nevertheless, she grinned up at Tin. "Yes, Mother." She trotted after Tin, quietly, trying to keep quiet. "Mother?" She asked. "What happens when I do catch it?"

Leimoni Meets Aneirin

Tinuviel felt butterflies in her stomach. She knew Rin wouldn't be angry with her, but how would he react? A little nervous but still happy about her day, Tin led the way back to her flower-lined cave. "The home-cave," she explained to Leimoni on the way, "is not like any other; Aneirin brought me a wonderful gift when I was carrying the Eggs. The cave is covered in flowers! You'll see, it's the most wonderful home-cave around."

Finally she arrived. Landing gingerly on the ledge, Tin called inside quietly, fearful of waking the hatchlings.

"Rin! Rin, are you there? Come here please, there's someone I want you to meet!" She danced in place slightly, anxious but excited.

Leimoni gulped. She was standing in the most beautiful cave imaginable, and Rin clearly loved Tin very much. But what would he think of her? Would he like her? Would he cast her back outside? Her head hurt from overthinking the situation. She shivered a little, and hid behind Tin. She closed her eyes, waiting for it all to go down. She felt she should say something about the cave to Tin. "It's very nice." She managed to whisper, her eyes flicking each way.

Anerin blinked sleepily and stretched. He knew he shouldn't have napped this late in the afternoon, but he was so tired... and he really was a night owl at heart.

"...in?"

'Rin shook his head and got to his feet with a groan. Yawning and blinking away the last residues of his nap, he trotted towards the entrance of the home cave. His hooves echoes across the stone floor.

"A guest?" 'Rin was curious. Since their childhood, he hadn't really met many other hippogriffs.

Tinuviel waited until she heard Rin coming. Had he been sleeping? His voice was certainly drowsy... She giggled. How cute. "Aneirin, I would like you to meet someone I found in the field, by the pond." She turned her head to look at the little yellow griff, and used her tail to nudge her forward gently. "This is Leimoni. She doesn't have a family of her own, so I told her we would be her parents."

She turned begging eyes to Rin. Say yes! Say yes! she pleaded silently. She couldn't turn the little darling away now, not after having spent all afternoon with her. She already considered her one of her own... That Motherly instinct had truly kicked into overdrive with Tinuviel.

Leimoni felt herself being pushed out to face this large male by the name of 'Rin. She attempted a small smile, but it was a shaky one. She turned her head up to see his face, craning her neck. Oh. My. God. constantly ran through her head.

'Rin blinked again, staring first at Tinuviel and then at the little yellow grifflet. Take another one in? A wave of weariness swept over him at the thought of another youngster galloping around the cave. Another mouth to feed, another pair of legs to keep from wandering...

But then he thought of their children. Little Keeva and Dorso... a grin pulled at the edges of his beak. He looked at Tin, keeping his expression serious, careful not to give away his feelings. Her eyes tore at him; she was obviously infatuated.

He faked a tormented sigh, but the smile that snuck onto his face ruined the image.

"I suppose we could build a second, smaller nest towards the back. Unless she wanted to share the nest with the little ones, of course." He raised an eyebrow.

Leimoni had sat quietly for a few minutes while Mother spoke to Father. She had begun to fidgit, first preening her wings, then making marks in the dirt with her hooves. She couldn't take this 'being quiet' thing much longer. She clicked her tounge, peered up at her father, and said "Hello, sir." With a quick nod of her head and a grin.

'Rin transfered his gaze from his mate to the little grifflet at her side. He wasn't sure what to say... she wasn't his daughter, but she was his daughter. He finally settled on a simple smile, hoping it didn't seem cold.

"Hi... Leimoni." 'Rin twitched his tail nervously. "You don't have to call me sir, kid."

Tinuviel smiled encouragingly at Leimoni. Of course, Rin didn't meet the little yellow griff under the same conditions that Tin had, and so wouldn't be as moved as she was by the little one's plight. Still, Tinuviel had to do her best to show Rin what a wonderful little girl Leimoni was.

"I taught her how to hunt today. She hadn't known what hunting was, and she never ate anything but worms!" Now that was purely assumption, based on what Leimoni had told her before... "The poor dear is so thin. But after just one lesson, she was able to catch a rabbit all by herself!" Tinuviel beamed proubly at Moni.

She smiled tentativly at Rin, proud of her efforts as a huntress. "Yes, Sir. I mean, Father." She played with her hooves shyly. She normally wasn't a shy girl, but then again, she had never been in the presence of adults.

'Rin hesitated, then stalked to the edge of the cave entrance. Looking back, he smiled at the two females, a small, quick to dissapear smile. He wasn't sure what to think...

"I'm glad you can hunt, kiddo." That'll make it easier. "You're sure quick to learn too. That's good."

He nodded tersely towards Tin. "I'm going to head out. Gather some sticks and soft grass for the new nest." Rin tilted his head. "We should probably consider making something for the little ones too, once they get older."

With that he spread his wings and took off.

Tinuviel tilted her head as she watched Rin leave to fetch the nest-making things. She wasn't sure what to make of his attitude... He seemed to be making a genuine effort, but he was perhaps a little too startled by the sudden new child in their lives. She sighed sadly and dipped her head, looking back at Leimoni.

"He's just startled, now. He'll get to know you, and then he'll understand better." A small smile appeared apologetically on her lips. "Everything will be fine."

She nodded, understanding the complexity of their situation. She gave a little yawn, thinking all had gone well. She was accepted in the family. A smile crossed her face, and although it was uncertain, she was sure the future would be bright.

Leimoni Makes Up With Kiyoshi

Leimoni headed out from the home-cave, out alone for the first time since she had met Tin and was introduced to 'Rin. She was a new 'griff, now older and more mature. She faintly remembered a very sad looking 'grifflet known as Kiyoshi. Where would she be? Leimoni wondered as she went around the twists and turns of the forest path, until she reached the pond where she had save Kiyoshi. She sat, gazing into the still, blue water. Maybe she would see her again one day.

Kiyoshi was under the water trying to catch food. She was hungry and decided it was time to get out from the little cave she found and get something to eat. She'd slept for a couple of hours and felt it was a good time to swim and eat.

She poped out of the water for breath and a fish was hanging out of her mouth. She didn't even look around, so she didn't notice the yellow hippogriff sitting there looking at the water. She swallowed the fish in one bite. Licking her beak with a satisfied look.

Leimoni heard something under the water. It was a dark shape, coming closer... and closer... What could it be? She backed up a little, unsure. Suddenly, the head of another 'griff popped out of the water, munching happily on a fish. Could it be? Really? Could it possibly be...

"Kiyoshi?" Leimoni asked quietly, not wanting to offend this 'griff. It could very well have not been Kiyoshi.

Kiyoshi didn't hear her name, but noticed the yellow hippogriff. She hadn't seen a yellow hippogriff since.... No way! She swam towards the other hippogriff with a smile on her face. She looked very delighted to see this hippogriff.

"Leimoni, is that you?" She asked as she swam closer. She couldn't be two sure, but knew they'd be about the right age since they were babies together. But wow, she did look different. Bright as every. "Wow!"

She got to the shore and got out of the water, shaking it off as she stood in front of her old friend Leimoni that she'd only met once, but it was a big impression. She remembered her "Prefect plan" But didn't mention any of it.

A smile lit up Leimoni's face. "Yeah!" She said happily, glad that Kiyoshi remembered her. "You look great." She chirped, being completely honest. Then she remembered how she had treated her, and her face darkened.

Kiyoshi circled her and smiled again. She looked pretty good herself also. Almost blinding though, she didn't mind. "You don't look too bad yourself." She said smiling at her.

"What have you been up too? After that one day so long ago, you just vanished" She added siting back infront of her with a kind face. She wasn't upset about how they were when they were kids, things changes. She had a little, but not much. She didn't so much know about Leimoni yet.

Leimoni gave a slight smile. "Well... I've been adopted." The words sounded so good, her grin broadened. "It's great." She gushed. "I'm loved..." she trailed off. There was no need to bore her with the details. She just nodded, still smiling. She paused a moment, in awkward silence. "And you? Whatever happened to you and Calamity?"

Kiyoshi giggled. She really was happy that Leimoni found a great home. She blushed alittle when she asked about Calamity. He was the reason she got upset. But that was ok.

"We are together, he's just... not here" She said giggling. She did leave him in the morning to go find a place to hide until she was grown. She didn't want him to see her when she was ugly from growning. She loses so many feathers. She sighed at the fact that she hadn't lost any yet.

"Are you with anyone?" she asked smiling at her.

Leimoni smiled. "That's nice." Then she shook her head. "No, I'm not with anyone. I'm busy enough with Mother and Father, plus my brothers and sisters. " She gave a shrug and added, "Plus I've never met any other males." Her gaze switched to the ground. When should she bring up her plans? She shifted her weight from foot to foot, unsure.

Kiyoshi noticed her uneasyness. She looked at her with consern. "Are you ok?" She felt she was making her nervous. She scooted back a bit to give her some room. "I'm not making you uncomfortable, am I?" She asked politely.

Leimoni shook her head quickly. "Oh no!" She said, making sure that Kiyoshi didn't get the wrong idea. "I just... wanted to apologize." She hung her head for a moment, took a deep breath, and carried on. "I'm sorry I made you cry. You know, about the plan. I've changed since then." She looked at her eagerly. "I really have." She cocked her head, looking up at Kiyoshi. "Could you forgive me?"

Kiyoshi giggled. It had been so long ago, and she wasn't going to keep the past from ruining anything. She made a funny face.

"That was a long time ago, you don't have to worry about it. Trust me. We were only kids." She giggled. She didn't see why she'd apologize. She didn't have to. She never really took things too seriously when she was a little kid.

Leimoni smiled again. "Good." So much had happened since that fateful day, it was insane. She now a daughter and a sister. She was suspossed to be a good model for the children. She didn't have time for her plan anymore. It had been a silly, childish idea anyway. Now she had to teach the grifflets the important things to life. It was a big responsibility.

Kiyoshi looked at the ground and started to shuffle the dirt. She looked back up. "So..." She didn't know what to say now. It was like an uneasy silence. She smiled again. "Want to go flying or swiming?" she asked

The day was nice, and a bit too warm for Kiyoshi's taste. The water had cooled her down, but only a little bit.

Leimoni raised an eyebrow. Fun? Did she have time for fun now that she had to be the idealistic big sister? She pondered for a moment. "Promise not to get stuck in the mud?" She teased.

Kiyoshi giggled. She remebered that too easliy. It made her feel really stupid. She went to the little mud whole she use to get stuck in and how just has to walk over it to get by. She normally giggles when she sees it.

"Trust me, I'm too big now. " Her tail was flickering around as she stood up. Her wings gently at her side but easly to whip out and start flying. She looked at her. " So, swiming or flying?" She loved to have fun still, it was her joy.

Leimoni gulped. "I've never flown nor swam before." She said cooly, as if it were no big deal. Ever since she had been adopted by Rin and Tin, she felt at ease with herself. She didn't need to try to make anyone like her. If they didn't like her for her, tough cookies

Kiyoshi jumped up. Sweet, she'd get to teach someone how to fly! She smiled widely at her. "I shall teach you the. Come with me." she said walking towards the hill.

"We'll teach you how to fly first." She'd never tought anyone anything, so she thought this would be good for when she had kids of her own. She waited for Leimoni at the top of the hill.

Leimoni trotted after Kiyoshi. "I've learned so much this week." She mused, stopping to preen her feathers. "First hunting from Mother, and now flying." She gave a shake of her head, and continued after Kiyoshi.

She made it to the top of the hill, breathing a little heavily. She turned around to look behind her, and gave a little flap of her wings

Kiyoshi looked her in the face. She looked like she was being serious now. Stern face, and wasn't smiling.

"Ok, watch me, then try to do what I do. We'll see what you can do then. Then I'll help you improve. " Kiyoshi took off at a fast run and then leaped into the air at the tip of the hill and started flapping her wings at the last second. She was flying pretty well. but took off pretty badly.

She landed right back where she started and nooded at Leimoni to try.

Leimoni Meets Muse & Onarasuto

Muse was once again exploring the vast valley and its surroundings. She had yet to approach any others beside the one called Calamity. Of course, she had only seen him the one time... Her violet eyes took in the sight of where she was now.

It was a grove of trees towards the SharpTeeth Mountains and snow. Everything here seemed delicate and sleepy, making Muse want to sleep as well. Yawning, she stopped in her tracks and looked for a place to rest.

Leimoni wandered out of the home-cave that she shared with her adoptive family. She gave a great stretch, yawning. She shook her head to wake herself further. What a great day! She cast a suspicious look at the sky overhead, as if to dare it to change, to show it's true colours.

Raising an eyebrow, she emerged from the safety of the area of the homecave, further into the forest. She paused. Something grey had caught her eye. She cocked her head, turning slowly to face it. Was it another 'griff? Surely she had not seen anything like this before.

Muse heard the rustling of leaves to the side of her. She had really not explored this area and did not know whether there were creatures larger than herself in the area.

Not that it mattered.

She had two horns and a whip-like tail which made very good weapons. Crotching down low, she waited to see what would happen.

Leimoni, a very suspicious and protective 'griff, refused to budge. She settled herself carefully on the forest floor, trying not to make any noise. She held her breath a few moments, the silence of the forest deafening.

Could someone else be here? Is the family in danger?

She folded her tail protectively around her, and waited in silence to hear if the object was friendly.

It had disappeared! Muse had managed to catch a glimpse of something yellow before it vanished from her sight. Looking around, she decided that she was in a fairly safe spot. She was near some bushes and a large tree. If she moved quietly enough, Muse could make it under the bushes and hide until it was gone. The creature certainly looked bigger than her!

Leimoni bobbed her tail impatiently. She cast a glance around the forest, then her entire body went rigid.

What if The Mysterious Creature had already made it back to the home-cave? What if it was attacking Mother and Father while she did nothing but sit here in the middle of the forest, waiting for nothing?

Still.... she gave a little impatient sigh, craning her neck to see around the trees infront of her. Give it time, she chided herself. Then we'll go save the home-cave.

Wanting to be able to find food for himself, Onarasuto ventured from his cave once more. There was still quite a bit left from what Calamity had left him, but he was going to need to learn to forage if he was to survive.

Moving along, he didn't notice another 'griff hiding in some bushes as his focus was elsewhere. The bushes were also some distance from him anyway.

As the hatchling minded his own business, he hopped out somewhere infront of the bush, but the tall grass in the area may have concealed him. Though... the others may have seen the movements in the long blades.

Muse gave a shriek as something hopped out in front of her. Rearing up and falling back, she landed on her rump in a most undignified way. Tears filled her eyes as her butt stung from the impact! Looking down, she saw a hatchling just hopping past her.

That was definately not the yellow thing! What if it was still out there?

"Hey, little one! Don't you realise there is a monster out here?"

Leimoni cocked her head, hearing the voice of a young 'griff, possibly speaking to the other young one that had just hopped by.

"Hey, little one! Don't you realise there is a monster out here?"

Aha! It was just as Leimoni thought. There WAS a monster. And according to that little 'griff or whatever it was, it was still out there.

She heaved a sigh of relief, happy to know that the home-cave was safe.

Onarasuto glanced to the side as he heard a few things... a thud and a voice.

Tilting his head to the side as he peered into the bush, he saw the outline of another hippogriff there. Though because of the leaves and such, he couldn't tell that she was different than other 'griffs.

"A monster?" he asked as he glanced around. He really didn't see anything at all.

"I don't see a monster. Even so, I doubt it's anything to really be afraid of."

Muse looked around and felt foolish. Creeping out from underneath the bush, she looked down at the hatchling. He was small with barely any meat on him. 'Must have hatched recently,' she thought to herself. Muse listened to him chirping and tried to make out what he was saying.

"I was settling down to rest and I saw something off in the bushes. So I hid and then it hid. Now I do not know where it is..."

Leimoni rose slowly and silently, hoping to catch of glimpse of what was going on in the clearing. She peered cautiously around a tree, spotting two hippogriffs. At least, what she thought was two hippogriffs. The one didn't look like any hippogriff she'd ever seen.

"It hid..."

Leimoni paused and looked at the ground, trying to add it all up. Was she "it"?

Onarasuto blinked at the new hippogriff, and tilted his head to the side. She looked different... And it made him wonder if she really was a hippogriff.

"I see. But are you sure it was a monster you saw? And.. I don't mean to be rude.. but what exactly are you?"

Muse sat thoughtfully with her head between her front legs staring at the hatchling. Her beak and face were much larger than the little on in front of her. His chirping sounded slightly off from the other's of her old clan... But she could just make out what he was saying.

"It was a monster I saw. It was a bit of yellow before it vanished. What am I? I am a hippogriff like you. Well.. from the SharpTeeth Mountains."

Listening carefully, Onarasuto made out what the older hippogriff said, then nodded. Her speech was a little strange, but he still managed to understand her.

"I see..."

Turning around as he heard some footsteps behind him, he saw a large adult yellow hippogriff some distance away. This must have been the 'monster' she had been talking about.

"I do not think that is a monster.."

Muse looked over to see an adult hippogriff walk into the clearing. Trembling with fear, she backed up against the tree. The little one could not hurt her but this grown up could peck at her and scratch at her like the others did...

"I don't know... You all look so different from me..."

Leimoni heard the little one speak of seeing a monster, so she cast a glance over by the shrubs. Sure enough, the odd little one was trembling.

Great. I'm a monster.

She decided to keep her distance, and not terrify the little thing more. She called out cautiously.

"Hello. My name is Leimoni. Who are you?"

She tried to keep the tone casual.

Onarasuto tilted his head to the side again as he frowned slightly at her.

"Please. There's no reason to fear any of us.."

Glancing behind him again to hear the adult calling out to them, he swished his tail slightly before giving a reply.

"I'm Onarasuto. And this is..." he paused as he really didn't know the name of the strange-looking hippogriff.

Muse felt ashamed to be hiding behind a baby. But she was in a strange land and there was one much larger than her questioning her. Muse opened her beck and closed it again. This is what she wanted though... To find another clan and be accepted.

"Muse." She finally managed to whisper out.

Leimoni nodded and gave a small smile. She cleared her throat, then got straight to buisness.

"What are you two doing out in the forest alone?"

It seemed rather suspicious. Where were their parents?

The hatchling turned sideways so that he wouldn't have to keep turning around to look at the two older hippogriffs by him. After Muse introduced herself, he gave her a slight bow before glancing over at Leimoni.

"I am not so sure about Muse here, but I am just foraging around for food."

Nodding as he said this, he soon spotted a worm in the ground. Though he didn't really want to eat such a thing, he knew he couldn't be picky about what he ate right now. So he quickly pecked down and ate the critter.

Muse started to stutter an answer. Taking a deep breath, she looked into this one's eyes who seemed gentle and kind. Like her mother's eyes... Her family that she would never see again. Muse had buried this painful feeling deep into her chest but now... Here before strangers in the middle of a forest, Muse lost her control.

Bursting into tears, she covered her head to hide.

Leimoni, face unchanging, wandered over to the place where the two stood. There was no worry of the little one being more upset than she already was.

She sat next to her, bowing her head to look at her. She saw the scars, the horns, the rings. "Now." She said simply, as she turned to face Muse. "Tell me what happened."

She had decided that perhaps the girl had done something wrong, and was crying because she was embarassed. Score another point for conscience.

Onarasuto glanced at Muse with a look of concern. After the larger hippogriff went over towards her, he hopped infront of her and looked up.

He didn't know what to say, but he didn't want to see the other hippogriff to be so distressed.
