This is what I thought of why most teens don't believe in religious ways. Because of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy. So much stuff is made up and parents want their kids to believe in it, but then they also want their kids to believe in God, but the kids don't think he's real because of what the parents did. That's my theory...

I think its alot to do with stuff like that. How can they believe in something they can't see? My brother doesn't believe in God, and he told me its because bad things happened to him, and if there was a God he wouldn't let them happen. I think alot of kids think this way too. A friend of mine is 16 and she told me she doesn't believe there is a God. She said she has hurt, and she wouldn't if she prayed and he was there to answer. What people don't understand is he can't always answer the smallest thing. I tried to explain to them that its the little pains in life that help you to grow, mature, and get closer to him. They insisted i was wrong, and that their breakups, and punishments, should be his top priority. Between the falsities of santa and the tooth fairy, and the belief that God is there to heal all your wounds (not just be there and guide you through them) is causing alot of the disbelief... Thats my Theory.

I'm pretty sure i'd be bored of a perfect existance

Religious Tolerence The religion was founded by Zarathushtra (Zoroaster in Greek; Zarthosht in India and Persia). Conservative Zoroastrians assign a date of 6000 BCE to the founding of the religion; other followers estimate 600 BCE. Historians and religious scholars generally date his life sometime between 1500 and 1000 BCE on the basis of his style of writing. He lived in Persia, modern day Iran. Legends say that his birth was predicted and that attempts were made by the forces of evil to kill him as a child. He preached a monotheism in a land which followed an aboriginal polytheistic religion. He was attacked for his teaching, but finally won the support of the king. Zoroastrianism became the state religion of various Persian empires, until the 7th Century CE. http://www.religioustolerance.org/zoroastr.htm

i think i'm the only one (or one of few), but i feel that all religions are linked. I don't believe we worship in the same way, but i do believe that our god (gods) are one in the same, we just adapted them differently based upon our cultures.
I get yelled at all the time for saying that ^^

That is the question i ask myself quite often. I dont care though. People yell because they feel our religions are different and can't in anyway be linked. So when i bring up my believe they freak out. I don't think people are used to tolerance. sweatdrop

Unitarian Universalists, for example, believe that everyone should be able to believe anything they want. They believe that it doesn't matter how you view or communicate with God(Or Creator or Goddess or Purple Monkey from Space).

Yes, the birth of Christ is shadowed by Santa Claus. I agree on your theory and you make a good point to.
Have you guys ever noticed that 'Christmas' Is Christ's Mass?
