I find the paladin superflous, since Royal Knights are the highest you can go, next to the lord knight you is the overseer and second in command. unless the Paladin is considered the Order Chaplain?

I find the paladin superflous, since Royal Knights are the highest you can go, next to the lord knight you is the overseer and second in command. unless the Paladin is considered the Order Chaplain?
You're gonna have explain what superflous is, if you don't mind...

WHat I was thinking was have the first 3 only have 1 person there, so we have 1st, 2cd, and 3rd in command. A Paladin has always been, in my mind, like the highest a knight can go. Besides the Overseer that is. But I want to see your opinions too.

The way I imagined it, and I already cast my vote for yes by the way, was that the Oathmaster was incharge, the Lord Knight the Second in Command, and the Royal Knights his lieutennants executing the wishes of the two higher ups, there by makeing a caste of 3rd in command, leaving the rest of the ranks to be awarded due to valour, participation and other reasons unmentionable or unknown.

I just want there to be 3 high commands. I don't know who yet. But I travel alot and sometimes I can't get online.
