Deep in the arctic, there is an unremarkable mountain buried under perpetual snow or at least unremarkable to the eyes of normal men and even the US government. Yet despite appearances, there is a vast fortress built into the mountain accessable only through a locked entrace requiring a key larger than a semi truck to open. Within is the private getaway of Superman, a monument to his lost planet and a testament of his powers. Within the halls of the Fortress of Solitude relics of dead Krypton and evil conquered sit on display, as well as a modest zoo of various alien fauna including Krypto the Superdog and Beppo the Supermonkey. There hangs a large banner proclaiming "Communist Cool!" in the great room, the impetus for Superman's current efforts, a rebranding of Communism to attract the youth of corrupt America. Product designs and slogan ideas are tacked to the walls all the way up to the 50 foot ceiling, and several bottles of Absolut Superman vodka, and Red Man energy drink lay scattered around the room.

The new Supergirl is getting her own series in....July? August? Something like.

The stuff I can recommend is the Supergirl Archives, reprinting the early Silver Age Supergirl stories.
