Ok. The other day I had this friend of mine who's new to the world of anime and manga come up to me and ask, "Who would win? Kurama or Hiei?" Now I don't like the idea of pitching my two favorite characters against each other so I didn't know how to answer her. I swear I stood there thinking "What the hell?" for about 10 minutes before I told her I didn't know. So out of curiosity, and to answer my friends question, who do you think would win? And please excuse my friends niavity. She's only read the first 4 volumes of the manga. confused

Well, after watching the entire series...this is a very hard choice. Both are very powerful. Kurama is strategic and Hiei is tactful. I think if Kurama was in his Yoko form he'd have a good chance of winning. If not, then Hiei would probably kick his a** w/the Dragon of the Darkness Flame.

It would depend on who goes first, if Kurama turned into Yoko he would win, but if Hiei used his dragon of darkness flame he would win But then again, why are they fighting?

I think Hiei would win because that dragon wave is very vicious!

It would end in a tie, since both would refuse to put all of their power into fighting. Kurama would hold back Youko, and Hiei the dragon. The only time I could see them fighting is for entertainment, because otherwise Hiei would just threaten, rather than actually hurt him. They hold that sort of bond.

True, but wouldnt kurama try to find a flaw from the dragon. He has watched it so he knows what it does and he could probably figure out how to defeat it or dodge the dragon.

I don't think Kurama would ever voluntarily fight Hiei for real. And if Hiei started a fight with him..... our fire-wielding hottie would soon stat banging his head about why he's fighting his friend. They are, in the anime/manga very close. And the hinting s of them being MORE... well... I needn't speak of that anymore, huh?

I agree with you all in that they'd never actually fight each other seriously. They're the type to go all out in a real battle, but they're much too close to take chances like that.

hiei or kurama hmm? well kurama of course.. i think . well because kurama is skillful and calculating and such. he thinks out his full attack and how much it'll be worth and the skill level of his enemy before he finishes them off. which is kinda his weak point he spends to much time thinkn ing and trying to fully understand his oppents mind that he doesnt think about the .. way he's putting himself out there. Hiei is kinda.. smart but his man thing in a battle is he goes for vital points and trys to kill theme off quickly. kurama would win because although he's taking too much time.. he realli wouldnt need that with hiei because he knows hiei inside and out he knows hiei's atacks and things. so he'd go for it and try to spare hiei...he'd just get it over but wont kill hiei ^^ heart heart heart kurama-kun heart heart heart

Kurama_lover MewBlue It would depend on who goes first, if Kurama turned into Yoko he would win, but if Hiei used his dragon of darkness flame he would win But then again, why are they fighting? True, but wouldnt kurama try to find a flaw from the dragon. He has watched it so he knows what it does and he could probably figure out how to defeat it or dodge the dragon. Hiei has little say as to what the dragon can and will do after it enters that realm (Whether or not this changed after the DT I couldn't tell ya, didn't follow that part too much but I will be finding out soon enough). Whether it continues to persue Kurama is the real question here. I think the Dragon would just persue its prey until it was forced back at Hiei or torn apart. With Hiei, his heart wouldn't be in it. If he unleashed the Dragon, then it may just backfire and kill Hiei instead, irreguardless on its initial target.
Heh. Besides that, as Kurayami said, neither would even try to kill the other and hold back their strengths over the other being. If they were forced to fight, then I could possibly see using stealth to 'fake' a death somewhere along the line and get them both out of there alive, somehow. -sighs-
This is a torn topic for me, personally. Kurama could win, but then Hiei could. The only way we'd know for sure is if they duked it out, not holding back anything. Sadly, that would never occur. The two have such a strong bond and quite possibly nothing could tear that apart. Only a strong betrayal on either side would end up being the 'fire' for a fight between them but, even then, I doubt the victor would see fit to end his comrade's life. Irreguardless on what the cause of their sudden end in friendship may have been.

I actually am writing a fanfic where they fight. Hiei wins the first time and Kurama wins the second time.
