Hello all...
I've been thinking. The more I look at my notes for "The Bards Tale"...the more I'm unhappy with the plot I've set up.
I'm thinking of begining a new RP that will be a little bit less dealing with the combat, and set at a better time in the Dragonlance timeline. This way there will be less confusion as to what is where, why some towns aren't like they are in the books and so on and blah blah blah...
I've been working on a few ideas that I'd like to use, but it would require starting a new RP thread.
Anybody else for this or against it?

If setting up a new thread is easier for you, then I say go for it! My character can cause mischief in any thread! Hehe. twisted

I'm thinking of using an "Alternate Future" from the "Legends of the Twins" Game Supplement book...
Options include
"Age of Dragons" - The timeline skews when Takhisis does not steal away the world... she fights Chaos alongside Paladine and defeats him.
This is the future that Tasselhoff mentions as "The first time" he went to Caramon's funeral. Much more like the earlier stories.
"The Highlords Ansalon" - Sturm fails to sacrifice himself, causing the knights of Solamnia to remain factioned and disorganized. Laurana is trapt inside the High Clerist Tower, ensnared by the Dragon Orb. The Heroes return to Solace defeated. The Dragon Highlords rule Ansalon.
"Magocracy of Krynn" - The Mages take charge after the Cataclysm. They begin by helping those in need, and eventually become the ruling class. (I can do more detail if necessary)
"Hourglass in the Sky" - This is the Future from "Test of the Twins" where Raistlin is successful. The time period is finite. From the time he defeats Takhisis to the end of the world is 2 years.
That or we can do a "War of the Lance" type RP

'The Highlords' Ansalon' would need some peeps who love to be bad...there's a lot of tricky, wicked stuff the Highlords would do if they got their paws on total control. It sounds like a fun RP.

Well, we could run a "Highlords Ansalon" campaign as the Highlords, but that means there would be assigned roles, such as Ariakas, Kitiara, Toede, and the other Dragon Highlords...basically very limited characters and you'd have to stick to what has already been done Character-wise.
or
The rp characters are members of an underground rebellion against the highlords and seek to restore the balance to the world.

Well that settles it.
We'll do a new RP.
What kind of setting would you like to do? We can use any of the alternate timelines, an original one (which will have more standstills), or the original War of the Lance campaign...(We'd each take a Hero of the Lance and RP them).
I'll leave it up to you all to decide, but I'm currently working on a table top D&D campaign right now, so I will be unable to moderate this one for the time being...
At this moment, the Bards Tale is currently locked. I will archive it in the next few days.

Ever consider a Post War of Souls game? Anything can happen in the 5th Age! Not only that, but you've got mystics, sorcerors, and afflicted kender! Personally, I like 5th Age games better, there's just more breathing room. On dragonlanceforums.com I'm actually running a thread taking place in a Post-Industrial Revolution Krynn in 1027 A.C. Talk about exciting! mrgreen

I had considered it, but there's literally too much being done to further change the world in the Post War of Souls Krynn. The Tower of Istar has been Raised and There is further devastation from the war... And then there's the "beloved of Chemosh" to work in...all too much for an RP that would be too hard to moderate

Like I said in Mag's thread on the front page... I'm all for a new RP, particularly on Krynn. I miss it lots from when I last played the Chronicles campaign.
And I think I like the "Age of Dragons" idea since I am HATING the War of the Souls books.

From Mags via her mule: Lol, actually this RP will pretty much "DL inspired". So it's safe to say the War of Souls books won't be involved much, if at all.. Man, I really need to pick up some DL novels again...
