I found this neat little Miyavi site with facts about him. Some of them I knew already, others I didn't know about at all. This made me fall even more in love with him!


-Miyavi has a mother, a father, and he is close with his grandmother. He might have siblings, but I am not sure.


-He lost his cell phone in mid 2005; we have yet to know if he found it.


-Miyavi is really shy, despite his loud personality. It was once said in a 2004 diary entry that he went to buy porn to show that he had "grown up", but was embarrassed and bought gum with it, saying he went for the gum.


-Miyavi is very close with his manager Saitou. Most would say they are best friends.


-Miyavi loves nostalgic summers and loves the beach.


-Miyavi once said he likes girls who are energetic, who do not have a lot of tattoos or piercings, and he likes to make them laugh.


-In Due'le Quartz, Miyavi had a cat. We're not sure if he still does.


-In every album and single, Miyavi thanks not only PS Company, but also the other bands under that label.


-Miyavi writes, arranges, performs, and produces his own music.


-Miyavi prefers Apple brand computers.


-Miyavi is very close to his fans. He thinks of us as his children, and he is the father. Once in an interview when he had his palm read, the psychic told him that he would be getting married in his 30's. Miyavi replied that he is too busy being a father to his fans to get married for a long time.


-In an attempt to be healthy, Miyavi tries to drink a lot of orange juice, and stated that he won't drink soda, coffee, tea, or sake.


-He recently made an attempt to quit smoking, and has been spotted many times with chewing on special sticks that are made to help people quit smoking. We believe he has succeeded.


-At age 9 or so, Miyavi broke his leg playing soccer. Due to such a devastating injury, he was unable to continue a career in soccer. He turned to writing music.


-Although he enjoys soccer, he said he would not go back professionally.


-Miyavi never went to college.


-Miyavi started his career off as a model.


-The only item Miyavi was a spokesman for was Fotus. This is probably not current.


-Miyavi enjoys shounen manga (comics geared toward boys). From his diary entries, we guess that he particularly enjoys the magazine Shounen Jump.


-Although very outgoing, it is said he's very shy and humble in front of fans.


-When Miyavi started getting his piercings and tattoos, his grandmother and mother used to chide him for it. Miyavi says he told them to "be quiet, you're noisy" and eventually they backed off. He said this jokingly, so I don't think Miyavi was as mean as he came across.


-Due to his facial shape and height, I believe that Miyavi may not be 100% Japanese.


-He loves to eat. He can't eat enough chicken, salmon teriyaki, crab, and fish. He adores Taiwanese food, and can stomach the spicy items.


-In 2005, Miyavi went on vacation to America. He went to New York City, Las Vegas, and Las Angeles but didn't perform there.


-Miyavi commented on of his guitar tattoos, Omitoufu: "It is the speech in the Buddha literature of Wisdom. I want to spend my life to find the answer of my heart". (Someone translated this interview, but I do not have your name or source, I apologize.)


-Miyavi said that if he spends the entire day practicing hard, he would only eat 2 meals instead of 3.


-He is from the Kansai district of Japan and speaks with a heavy Kansai accent.


-The singer was once spotted in a Christmas web-cam special drinking a bright orange drink, thought to be an orange screwdriver. In the camera feed, he was eating chicken, strawberries, jumping on the couch, and wearing a Christmas hat.


-Miyavi once made plans to attend a couple conventions in the United States in 2004 but could not attend due to the fact that a technician was ill. The entire tour was cancelled.


-He loves colours, but always keeps his tattoos black.


-Miyavi is often seen wearing and reusing clothing from earlier music videos, photo shoots, and lives.


-He says he doesn't go shopping often cause his clothing is either donated by fans or he keeps them from the photoshoots or music videos he participates in.


-Miyavi can't hold his liquor very well. Poor thing.


-Miyavi doesn't speak a second language fluently. For his international concerts, Miyavi will learn enough Chinese or Korean to start a concert and excite his fans, but he is nowhere near fluent. As for English, he seems to like the vocabulary and uses it frequently in his music, although it hardly makes any sense.

i think he does have a brother... Kei I think??

I think I read somewhere that that was actually a staff member's brother or something. It's kind of hard to say because in the Japanese language, people will use words that mean "brother" or "sister" to people who aren't actually related to them. You have to really look at context and if you have a clip that only lasts like a few minutes, you don't always get everything you need.

Miyavi's piercing: Aside from the visible ones, he has a "special" one. You all know where that one is. 4laugh

I kinda thought that was interesting. 3nodding I had no idea. Some how this makes him even cooler. >w< Korean food is teh nummy...

Miyavi speaks fluent English now. Hes been studying for a year or so and speaks it much better than most jrockers that have been speaking it for years (kyo from dir en grey and gackt for sure).

That adorable photoshoot where hes at a table with a cute kitty-- that was his cat. cute ^^

and his movie Oresama was somewhat a biography of his life (besides the whole time travel thing) but explains how he wanted to play soccer professionally, but when he injured his leg he couldnt anymore. but it also shows when future Miyavi didnt tell 'lil Meevers what was going to happen in that last soccer game, it was his way of telling people that even if he could, he would not change his past and being a musician is one of the most important things to him, it was like a big I LOVE YOU! to his fans.
