According to the Japanese Wikipedia, some Beatles songs, instead of just having their titles romanized, were assigned actual Japanese titles. I'm not sure why, but here were the titles they were given, according to Wikipedia. Also, keep in mind these are literal translations and they may sound better in context.
All You Need is Love - "Love is Everything"
Norewegian Wood - "Forest of Norway"
Nowhere Man - "The Lonely Guy"
Run For Your Life - "Cheating Girl"
Ticket to Ride - "Ticket of Tears"
I Want to Hold Your Hand - "I Want to Hold You Close"
A Taste of Honey - "A Taste of Honey." Wow, they actually got that one right!
What Goes On - "Disappeared Love"
A Hard Day's Night - "The Beatles are Coming, Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" That one CRACKS ME UP.
You've Got to Hide Your Love Away - "Knock Away Your Sadness." Another hilarious one.
The Ballad of John and Yoko - "The Ballad of John and Yoko." They got this one right, too!
We Can Work It Out - "Let's Embrace Our Love"
I think my favorite is "A Hard Day's Night."
Do any of you have funny translations of Beatles song titles in other languages?
