I'm going to be investing in some alcohol-based markers.

Can you reccomend to me a brand?

BTW this would be my fist time working with professional markers, up untill now it's been Crayola all the way, baby!!

They all take practice, I've found.
Honestly, I'd just go to your nearest art store and see which ones they have and test the different kinds out. I find prismas harder to match up shade wise, and their tips are harder to manuever for me [I'm left handed, but it could just be me.] So I'd buy an already put together kit from the Copic site if I could afford them. xD;;
But I think it really differs from person to person. n__n;

Yes it differs from person to person.

You should tryo out some of the stuff like Yuki suggested. For my birthday my mom got me 2 sets of Art equipment inside a briefcase.From crayons to acrylic painting etc...It's different off course but in time you find that it's really easy working with the tools that you have.

Off course if you are not sure then I'd say ask the owner of some art shop. But I've learned that first experience is the only thing that may lead to answering your question..

Trying them out is definitely good advice. I'm also left handed, but I rather like prismacolors, though I admittedly have never tried copics. Tria markers though tend to bleed considerably more than others from my experience. That particular brand I personally don't care for.

Mmm... like everyone else said try them out and see which one you like the best. Personally, Copic is good, but bloody expensive (part of the reason why I don't have any ha ha, then again most brands are expensive XD). I use Prismacolor- more familiar with it.
