His eyes darted back and forth, the eerie hold of night took over the woods. Pitch black was all that could be seen since the fog had set earlier the day before. The ground beneath his feet collapsed before he could find stable land to safely rest his weak body. Grabbing at the walls of the hole he continued to fall rapidly, what was with this? All this bad luck had engulphed him lately. It was as if he was a walking disaster waiting to happen. There! In the distance he could see a vine, coiled into the earth. His fingers dug into the soil as he tried to reach for it. So close yet so far. The loss of hope tore into him like a dagger breaking the skin. Determined, he tried again, stretching his arm out as far as he could possibly stretch. Yes! He had hold of it. He wasn't going to die this easily that was for sure.

The takeover of this new determination sunk deep within his flowing veins, a fire burst into his eyes as he began the climb the vine slowly. The strength which had developed out of nowhere, all of this cut into him, blade of vengeance. Reaching the edge of the massive chasm he pulled himself out. Falling on his stomach he rested momentarily before standing again. Dusting himself off he started to walk again, careful where his feet fell.

His eyes squinted slightly as he began to survey the land and where he was to go from here. Such desolant land was dangerous the type of thing, he and Azrael were doing. This whole ordeal was rather pointless when he thought about it. The point of this whole ''game'' of Azrael's was not to die while trying to reach the other side of the forest. Why he listened to his friend he'd never understand. Sighing he began to walk the unstable earth once more. The atmosphere was dreadfully stale, leaving Effran taking deeper breaths than he had been just moments before, without noticing the change he continued to press forward.

His stride quickened as he saw a shadowed figure in the distance, what seemed to be a child from what he saw. His pace hastened as he began to near the figure in the distance. Finally comming within the small creature he rested, trying to introduce himself he looked up to see a disorianted young girl, her face filled with horror. Pale and white she opened her mouth wide and the echo of her screach rang through the air. Flinching, Effran covered his ears and closed his eyes waiting for the girl to quiet again. But as the sound faded away, he opened his eyes, only to see the small frail figure of the girl had faded away just like her scream had.

He knew that face, how long had it been since he had seen her, years..no it was longer than a decade, a century or two was more along the lines of the girl's memory in his mind. Yet there was no name he could place to her face. Standing up straight, he glanced around. Thinking to himself, trying to find where it was that he had ran to. Sighing he continued to walk, thinking constantly of where he had met that girl. A clearing made it's self noticed as he continued his walking. But something was weird ..had he been here before? All of these events struck him as dejavu, he had seen all of this before, and the ground, the ground was lush with green grass, the soil was moist, but that he had just walked on was dry and cracked. Had he walked into a dream and left behind the living reality of his exsistence?

Looking around with a dumbfound expression he saw the figure of the girl, but she was different now, older, more mature looking. Then it occured to him, just who she was and his heart broke in two. She grabbed his hand, a lovely smile played her lips as she dragged him into the middle of the clearing. Dancing happily around him, everything was so alive here, so cheerful, exuberant with color and sound. His emerald eyes became cold, lonely, and empty as he watched the young woman dance. Why..why why why why, why had she come back? Why were things happening like this? Why was he here? Why?! Suddenly his lungs filled with air, his broken heart on fire, clenching his fists, closing his eyes tightly he opened his mouth and the words he had never wanted to admit to himself came flooding out, like a fire that couldn't be contained.
Leira! You're dead!! Dead!

The face of the young woman contorted, despair shot through her essense and she shattered, like broken glass, along with the illusion he had veiwed.

After a long and heated battle, Day collasped to Night's long awaiting arms. His blood was seeping across the sky for the fourth time this week. What had caused him to threaten his darling, Night, again? Couldn't they go a day without causing such a racket in the heavens? Closing his golden eyes, Day began to fade away in Night's pale, fragile arms. This must be their punishment for going against Destiny's will.

Sensing a disturbance of sorts within the forest, a pair of piercing blue eyes awoke from it's slumber. Who was it that dared to venture through the forest at this time of night?! Letting a low and frustrated growl errupt from her maw, the girl lifted herself up from her resting spot in the trees and touched her padded paws onto the ground. Her curiousity was obviously going to take the best of her one day.

Most, would hide themselves within the shadows when they did something like this, but, Sepia was another case. She was always another case. Moving silently among the trees, the girl kept her eyes peeled for the disturbance. Anything out of the ordinary. Things seemed to be undisturbed up until a male figure appeared at the corner of her eyes. He appeared to be hysterical.

Refusing to utter a word infront of the stranger, the girl simplely slinked foward to show her presence. There was no need to change back~ She was comfortable in this form. No one would be able question her descion for remaining silent as long as she remained a beast.

Opening his eyes slightly he sighed, relieved that the illusion had gone. Had it only been an illusion? Or was Leira really there, her spirit, protecting him, just wanting to be noticed, remembered, maybe he had forgotten about his sister too much for her likings. His hand reached to his eyes and wiped away the tears that hadn't seaped out, he had cried himself dry in the centuries before. Such painful memories, why would his sister wish such things on the one who cared for her?

His head throbbed as he looked around for a place the sit. What was he suppose to do? Was he going to stay in this dense forest for the rest of his life, was he to die here? Shaking his head a slight dizyness fell over him as he began to struggle with his steps. His body wavered as his vision swam, the area around him began to move at a hastened pace before he huffed and began to fall. s**t. The words fell from his lips, laced with the regret of not being stronger.

Opening his eyes, he grumbled, a disgruntled attitude suddenly fell over him. Staring off, he got to his knees and held his head up. Looking at his surrounding, his eyes adjusted and he made out the thicket and brush. Running his hands through his hair he recalled just what had happened and flinched. Standing he looked around again. There was someone else here, but his eyes wouldn't focus enough to see them. Tense, he got to his feet, moving the hair out of his face and squinting to see if he could visualise anyone else.

Night's heart was growing heavy, as was the sky. How could she bring forth the evening when she had just injured her lover? Sighing, the femme closed her silver-based eyes. Though, she had told herself that she would not cry because of him... tears began to flow from them. And thus, the heavens began to rumble to show it's objection and disappointment in her.
--
Even from behind the bushes, Sepia could tell that this male was not healthy at the heart. He was the disturbance of this forest... the peacewrecker. What was she suppose to do now? Sepia had never thought as far as what to do when she found the peacewrecker. Letting a soft sigh release from her lips, the girl padded forth. What was the worse that could happen to her?

Fixing her blue eyes onto the human for a moment, Sepia circled him. Was he safe? Could she approach him? Pausing for a moment, Sepia pushed her snout at his hand~ She would just have to wait and see...
