The idea behind this topic is to talk about everything that concerns movies. You may talk about your all-time favourite movie or actor, review the ones you just saw, preview upcoming titles and discuss about the subject in general.
( I hope I have the liberty to create off-topic threads! whee )

Tonight I'm going to Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11. I really enjoyed Bowling for Columbine for it's great humour and powerfull statement against an armed society. I fear F.9/11 won't reach the same level, but I know for certain it will be highly enjoyable 3nodding

I'm thinking of going to see I, robot tomorrow... I'm not a huge fan of scary movies, but I don't know how scary it is supposed to be.... Anyone seen it yet that can give me a rating?

I too will see that movie tomorrow. I think it'd classify under an action movie rather than a scary movie.

I thought it looked like an action movie as well, which is why I wasn't sure if I wanted to see it or not. Asimov never struck me as an action writer after all. But my one friend went to see it, and he said it was more of a thinking movie with action thrown in for the LCD audiences.

Asimov thought that Ridley Scott screwed up bladerunner and made it into an ordinairy action movie. Good for him that he died before seeing Total Recall, Paycheck and I Robot... sweatdrop
Fahrenheit 9/11 was just as good as I expected. It has some serious flaws in it, but if you share Moore's vision you'll won't care! 3nodding

RyuDarkwood Asimov thought that Ridley Scott screwed up bladerunner and made it into an ordinairy action movie. Good for him that he died before seeing Total Recall, Paycheck and I Robot... sweatdrop Um, "Blade Runner" was based on "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", by Philip K. d**k. "Paycheck" was also based of a short story by Philip K. d**k. I don't think any other movies have been made of Asimov's stuff (Although I have heard that they are working on Foundation Trilogy movies.) RyuDarkwood Fahrenheit 9/11 was just as good as I expected. Anyway, I saw Spider-Man 2 a little while ago and it completely rocked my socks. I want to see it again. I recommend everybody see it. ::speaks in Ben Stiller "Starsky and Hutch" silly voice:: Do it. Hey, do it. Do it. I saw that on DVD also. Hilarious movie. I'm really looking forward to "The Village", though. M. Night Shyamalan is awesome!

Isn't he the same guy that wrote the basis for "Minority Report?"? (Can you guess where the question mark goes?!) RyuDarkwood Fahrenheit 9/11 was just as good as I expected. It has some serious flaws in it, but if you share Moore's vision you'll won't care! 3nodding I agree. Som of the money-trail stuff had no actual merit to it, it was just, "Hey! President Bush looks bad because of these coincidences!" The other stuff, like the manipulation / bullying of the media, and the coverage of the war was right on. Electric Monk Anyway, I saw Spider-Man 2 a little while ago and it completely rocked my socks. I want to see it again. I recommend everybody see it. I loved that they focused on what made Spider-Man great: Peter Parker. I just wish they'd do Venom in the next one instead of hobgob. What moral conflict could they have there? Betrayal of trust? Uncertainty? Not too strong going against the themes of the first two. Venom would offer Petey with a power high, and then his redemption from it. Plus, Venom rocks to boot. Meh... I can't for the life of me figure out why, but I loved that movie. I liked Huggy Bear and his crew.

A foundation trilogy? That could be cool, I liked that series. To bad hollywood will more than likely screw it up.

I too would like to see Venom an all...but they put Dr. Conners in the second movie, does that hint a bit of a Lizard appearance in the third? Maybe not but it's a possiblity.

Philip K. d**k wrote a lot of intelligent, thoughtful short stories that Hollywood made crappy action films out of. I don't think they're going to do Hobgoblin. After all, Harry was Green Goblin II, not Hobgoblin. If I were in charge I would try to get as many Marvel characters together and make a Secret Wars movie. Think about it. Warner Brothers owns X-Men, Spider-Man, the Hulk, Punisher, Daredevil, and Blade! They could make a totally kick-butt Secret Wars movie!

Venom would be awesome! But I think it would take a little to much then you can fit into a movie to bring him in though. Maybe a venom trilogy...
