Wouldnt it be cool that they make another ff7 movie, but instead its a movie about the game itself. Sure the movie would be long but hey at least u get to see Tifa more righ lol

Yeah, but here's the thing. In FF7, there are things in there that are optional, let's just say Yuffie and Vincent. I'm sure they would put them there, and make them important in the plot line, but there's another problem. To get their final limits, they have to do things such as: For Cloud, get I think 3,500,000 or 35,000 points at the Golden Saucer Get all Tifa's limits and play a song on her piano Find the sunken plane Etc. If they were to put that in, it'd kinda be something that isn't really too important, yet some fans would wonder why and how they have the Omnislash and the Final Heaven without the FF7 gang having to do all that. There's also the thing with potion, phenoix downs, and ethers. If they put in phenoix downs, then people who are not to in tune with the Final Fantasy world will wonder why they just don't use it on Aeris. It's all too confusing...
I could see it happen, but the time it would take the developers to turn the game into a feature-length film would take quite a long time, possibly even years. Hell, look at the time lapse between 1997 and 2005, that's around 8 years, and it maybe would have taken then 3 years to see how big a fan base it has, and maybe 2 or 3 before they even thought of a plot for the movie. But that's just me...

Itd be nice, but I have to agree completely with Jhay up there. Too much optional stuff to try and make a movie out of it, though it would be a great thing to see. Also, the time frame would be a good 10 years working solely on that film itself. True they do now have the engine to work with the movie settings, but recreating everything in the game that would happen would take years upon years to do.

But that's just me... U do have a really good point, but i still think it would be cool even if thye put all that stuff in there like chocobo racing, and gold saucer. Even though its a choice thing i still would love watching ff7 nstead of playing it biggrin (really good point though!! biggrin )

The damn thing would surely exceed eight hours. They'd have to have an intermission or two if it ever hit the theatre.
And yeah, kudos to Jhay up there, a lot of good points to bring up. They'd also have to explain how Materia work and likely have to incorporate a random encounter (At LEAST one, maybe two so they have one early on where the party gets their a** kicked and just barely win, and a better one later to show that they're getting stronger). As for phoenix downs, how would they use those to revive people? Tickled their nose with it? In FF games phoenix downs often have a picture of a red feather next to it.
The only real way they'd be able to remake FF7 with better graphics was if they redid the game on PS3 with better graphics. And so far, there's no official word that that's going to happen.

If they were to do a movie, yet make it shorter then say 4 hours at least, they would have to cut out a lot of stuff from the game, making the plot a little different, so if a person that has never played the game but seen the movie thinks they know it, then they are wrong. In my opinion, why not make an anime cartoon series? That would be way better then making a movie, and they can do parts of the game at a time, like the first episode being the mako reactor, then the bar (with a little action to make it interesting), and so on and so forth.

a better idea, might be to break it into sections, like pt1:midar, and such.
