Hey peoples,I am in desperate need of help. Ok, so heres the deal: so there I was scrolling around and the guild and I commented on the "How old are you" topic.Unknowingly, my mom was watching me. When she saw how old some of the people were,she got mad and threaten to disconnet the internet,and she got mad at what I commented. What should I do and what should I tell her?

I think the only thing you can actually do is tell her that she cnat expect the internet to be full of people the same age as you

Agreed, it is unreasonable to assume that everyone on the internet is under the age of 16.
She should learn to trust your judgement, and you should earn that trust.
As long as you're not an idiot, it matters little.

I completely agree with both of y'all (except the part of me being an idiot and earning my moms trust.....) But it seems that my mom doesn't really care.I know its for my safety and all but....*sigh* She says "I trust you but not the person your talking to,they might be a molester or something" This is what gets me really mad,if she trusted me she would trust my friends,whoever they are,right?

thats very ture, if she did trust you then it should show. but as of right now there isent much you can do. you could reashure her that your not giving out any of you personal info so people cant stalk you and that if someone is on gaia you can get them banned but i cant think of anything els.

Why not just say we're all under 14 and lied about our ages? you can point out the layout to get extra credibility. that way you could even be thought out as a good influence.

IF she trusts you, she should also trust your judgement. Not to give out your real name or address or anything to random people.
However, she is being protective, just be open with her about it all. Invite her to join gaia perhaps, there are a fair number of people over the age of 16 on this site, a greater proportion of them on the ED boards, which is where I spend my time.

(I hate being so honest stare I sometimes get into trouble for being too honest sweatdrop ) I know how you feel, I don't lie either. lol, it has gotten me in trouble and people wonder about me...ALOT! lol. just tell her some people are adults yes but ur not gonna be stupid and say anything where you live exactly and there are some people, believe it or not, that have manners on the net. just say srry, but u like gaia and on azalia, people have respect for one another and are decent people unlike most of the people these days.

Wow I thought I responded to this but none the less. My advice is tell your mom that you understand what she is saying but tell her that she must understand that you are mature and responsible enough to consort with an older crowd like us and hey if she wants to I'll let her interrogate me.
