Just how bad is this for Colon and Myles? ;)
This is one of Aubrey's henchmen, the one he called "KILLER"

In the basement of an unassuming building, at the end of a long whitewashed hall with rust stains on the ceiling, the criminal Underground does its business with the dead. It's tucked away, like most of the Underground's facilities, where people won't see. Bodies are brought in regularly, usually to be cut up, diced, dumped or burned. But one body isn't like the rest.

He was in his late thirties, but his hair was already gray. His clothes are foreign, and very nice. He was in excellent health, that is until someone put three holes in his chest. Now he's not doing so good. It's been almost 45 minutes since he started to cool to room temperature, and he's almost there. Other than that, it's been an uneventful day for him.

Fritz unlocks an unassuming door that opens up to this little slice of hell. "We weren't followed, right? You're sure you seen nobody?" He looks all paranoid as he looks from Myles to Colon.

Cautiously, he leads you down the stairs and into a long hallway, at the end of it is the morgue that the local mafia uses. The room is empty and silent, except for refrigerators, a covered corpse, and the body of the man he described, who has been lain out on a table.

He's a pathetic sight, and at a glance, bringing him back would be a miracle.

Fritz lights a cigarette, and leans against the table. "What do you think? Eh?" Fritz wipes sweat from his brow. "Can you do it?"

The girl from the tavern, who came with them, is silent and keeps her head down.

"You're talking to a guy who can feel people think. If we were followed, I'd have been the first to know."

Meanwhile, he starts to focus on Colon's EM field, just in case. With his senses specifically attuned Myles has an almost Zen awareness of Colon's nervous system and vital signs. If things start to get disastrous he'll know even before Colon does.

Colon glances around at the place and grins, "You guys certainly know how to keep it dramatic around here don't ya?" He walks closer to the man on the table, looking him over for any signs of Aubrey or his world, but he wasn't sure if they were there or not.

His grin slips into a frown as he pokes at the man's leg, noticing how it doesn't move, "Well, he is dead." He looks at Myles and then back at Fritz and sighs heavily, "I'll see what I can do."

Myles asks Fritz, "You mentioned your boss had mind-control powers? I think I might have run into his people a time or two in Durem. Zapped a bunch of his henchies, my apologies if you were one of them."

"Heh, well, highly likely. That's in the past, though. I have no plans of any kind to do anything to piss you off." His feet are still together every time he stands still.

He leans over Colon's shoulder and looks down at the corpse. He looks skeptical, to say the least. "So, do your thing. You know, BAM, life returns."

Though he doesn't bear any resemblance to Aubrey, and he isn't wearing anything similar to Aubrey, he is wearing a series of trinkets that suggest he might be from the same country as Rose, Daniel, and Aubrey. But then again, Crosshaven gets a lot of visitors and tourists from that country.

There is one good thing, before he was killed, he was in perfect health, vital and strong. Other than that, the task of bringing him back to life seems utterly unrealistic.

He shoves Fritz away, feeling deeply annoyed with his presence suddenly, "I'm afraid it's not that easy." He was buying time, trying to figure out a plan, when it suddenly came to him. "Alright, I'm ready."

Removing his gloves, he lets them fall to his feet, placing one cold hand on the man's forehead, pushing his head back so that air could enter the lungs easier, and one holding his wrist, to feel for a pulse. At the instant his hand touches the icy skin; he feels his own life stir.

...
His hands fly up as though having touched a hot stove, and he places his hands onto the table edge, trying to catch his breath. "That...that...didn't go too....well." He slips down onto the floor, holding his hand up to stop anyone from saying or doing anything. "I'll try...again."

After a moment of sitting, he pushes himself back up, grabbing onto the table to support his weight. He places his hand back into their original position, gripping tight.

...(********!" He hits the ground harder this time, breathing heavily. His leg was killing him, and he searched his bag drastically for his pain killers. "I can't believe this s**t!" Finding them he pops two into his mouth and closes his eyes. "Fritz, I swear to god if you say anything!"

His hands were shaking and his head was felt like it did the night Aubrey had smashed it into the cement. "I can do this, I just...I need time." He stops and glances over at the girl, attempting to smile, "Sorry miss. I'll try to watch my language."

And then all of a sudden Myles sees it. The thing in Colon's head. The feedback loop set up by the flaw in Colon's Gift that the random fluctuation of genetics has saddled him with. The things Colon could have been capable of without it! Myles tries a resonant magnetic field to align Colon's and maybe, just maybe, compensate for the flaw a bit. He reaches out his hand and...

(( Hooboy. How to play this? I think I'll let you guys decide just how much it helps Colon, whether it just eases his pain a bit or whatever. In the meantime, I don't think something as powerful as this should go without consequences... ))

Damn! He didn't expect this! He gets locked into Colon's field, and drops to one knee with a groan as he suddenly shoulders a small part of the burden of the flaw in Colon's Gift. Electronic equipment in the room starts to malfunction slightly, metal objects rattle on the countertops, clocks and watches may stop, etc.

(( Oh, poor Colon! Good save Myles. Ok, Colon is wiped out, and senses that a small amount of permanent damage has occured. He also feels as if he's trying to do the impossible. But then he feels a rush of power, as Myles' alarming success suddenly compensates for the deficiency in his own genetic makeup. Colon is fully recharged---temporarily---in fact, he feels better than ever. Myles erases some of the damage done and Colon feels it's safe to try again...))

"Oh, Jesus," Fritz says. "I could have done that, what you just did. What a piece of work." He steps far back, now not expecting any miracles. He pulls out his cell phone to call his boss, only to find out that it's on the blink because of the surge of energy in the room. That and his hair is standing on end.

((And by the way, we will have a much better dice system soon, and there will be fewer failures. ))

His fingers twitch, his eyes fly open to the whites, and his mouth opens, releasing a slightly voiced sound. Maybe it was the end of the last thing he was saying before he died. But these aren't signs of life, they are just involuntary muscle movements caused by the energy passing through his body.
