Since I'm working on a rl commission at the moment, I won't be coloring these two for a while yet. My photoshopping is rather backed up right now, though I do intend to do color versions of these eventually. But, in the meanwhile, here are two new linearts. I haven't resized them yet, so my apologies for them being on the large side.

1. One of my OC's, Rei. He's actually a sweetheart, but he always dresses like a little 'ho.

2. Just a random dancer girl. Yes, there is supposed to be something on the end of the ropes--either flames or balls of light, probably, but that's to be done directly in photoshop, so it leaves the lineart a bit off-balance and incomplete looking, a point which I am well aware of. If too many MAJOR anatomical errors are noted on this one I might redraw it before I color it. Depends on...well...whether or not I feel like it, really.

(Lineart on both DOES require some cleaning up, a point of which I am well aware. Damn pens always decide to start running out of ink when I don't have a single refill on hand...)

Rei

His head looks bigger than the rest of his body. Despite him screaming 'ho'his outfit looks out. Love the details.

The direction of where his feet is pointing bothers me, since he is half-facing us. Love his accesoiries. Very cool.

Dancer Girl

Work on the anatomy. Her left leg- and foott are bend-shaped. I like her pose though. It's detailed, though you could've put up more work on the hair.

Rei--yeah, his front leg is all fudged up and squiggly and I should have put the foot at more of an angle...I might redraw...if I do I'll make his body somewhat less narrow to compensate for his oversized head. I was experimenting with a new way of setting up poses and I haven't really perfected it yet. Ah well, live and learn. Thanks. You've basically confirmed what I already knew, so at least there aren't any NEW errors that I didn't notice in this one.

Dancer--I knew there was something messed up in the anatomy, but was having trouble placing it. I'm probably going to redraw her because I've decided I hate the bandages on the leg, I'm not sure I'm crazy about the skirt either. As for the hair--I have a thing for ponytails at the moment. The majority of work I put into hair is done on the computer these days, so to prevent erasing and going back, I just keep the lineart simple. Maybe a different style would have suited the character better, but I don't think It would have portrayed movement as well, so I stuck with the ponytail.

Thanks for your thoughts.

So yeah...I ended up redrawing both of them after all... sweatdrop

Rei:

I widened his body a bit as per suggested and fixed the wonky front leg. Also I changed his cuffed denims to a pair of daisy dukes because they just didn't look right with the thigh high boot, which got stylized a bit more. I changed the positioning of the left hand and put a glove on the right one, and put a bit more detail into the earring. Everything else is essentially the same.

Dancer Girl:

I shortened the skirt, first of all, and made it 'fly' a bit more to bring it away from the rear leg. Then I got rid of the bangles around her waist--a case where accessories were just plain distracting and took away from the drawing. I changed the location of the bandages--they just didn't work where they were, and jewlery and the hem of the skirt got stylized with a triangle design to give her a more tribal/native american feel. They eyes also got a more stylized look to them to make her look 'made-up'. I left the hair the same because I really do like the long ponytail, but gave her a hair ribbon as an afterthought.

I think the second attempt on these two came out much better.

Yes I agree. Though there are still some anatomy faults on the dancer...

Hah! Yeah I know. My lineart is piling up, if only I could find time to sit down and do any coloring. I'll get them done eventually...

and since I'm in this thread anyway, another one...
