Okay, after a while of planning, and junk, I've finally decided to make an rp. So here it goes.
The story
Once upon a...No, that's wrong. This ain't a fairy tale. Let's try again. There was once...That's better! There was once a continent called Stonecrest in some made-up place. This, of all the continents, was the biggest, and stretched from the equatorial line to the north pole. It was actually quite similar to Europe, but recently, foreign settlers have began to move in. This place is similar to Europe some...500 years ago( Guns weren't around then, right? I'm thinking of the Battle of the Roses), before the use of guns was popularized. The reason behind this was that guns were in their most primitive form, and only long-barelled rifles existed. In fact, because these guns were so unreliable, most people decided not to use them.
Anyway, back to the point. This place was just like medieval Europe. There are many things going on on this giant continent. There are wars, cities being created and exploration. Most people just earn a living as peasents, but some people like to live a little more exciting life, searching for treasure, fighting in wars, and hunting creatures. Oh, did I mention? There are all kinds of beasts running around the plains and jungles and such. Most are timid herbivores, but there are some man-eating monsters out there. These sometimes enter cities looking for food, and the guards have to stop them. Also, bounty hunters wander around outside the cities, stopping these beasts from wiping out cattle, and of course, stopping them from entering the city area.
This is a continent, remember, and has been divided into countries, obviously. There's the frozen country Aksala, the desert country of Airegin, the plains country of Acirema the jungle country of Lizarb, and the forgotten country. But that's just a few. Since it's a whole continent, there's much more than that. You just haven't created them yet (More on that later.).
The Concept
The basic idea of the roleplay is freedom. However, this is supposed to be a combat oriented rp, so it isn't a strict rule, but try to keep that in mind. This means that there is no set job for you to do. You can choose what to do, and here are a few options:
Soldier- You join an army to fight in wars and do missions. You can join a country and fight in any war, but I don't want people to keep skipping through different countries just to join a war. There is something called Allegiance. However, I do know that people's allegiance can change, and I welcome you to do so, as long as you have a sound reason in mind. Also, you'll always begin as the lowest rank when you join an army. Anyway, these are battles between countries, and it isn't limited to the type of soldier who runs around with a sword...
Mercenary- You take jobs for money. This means that you possess no loyalty, or atleast you're only loyal to those who pay you. You take jobs as body guards, to fight people, and assassinations etc.
Bounty Hunter- Remember those creatures I told you about? These are the people who get payed to take them out. They're not limited to defending cities, they...I said earlier, didn't I? Nevermind.
Explorer/ Treasure hunter- Self explanatory. These are the people that search places like the forgotten country, and other similar places. They also discover new places and junk.
So, as I said, this is a freedom based roleplay. Well, I never said that, but meant to say that. This means that it ain't limited to those jobs listed. Heck, I'm encouraging you to make your own. Just nothing too...Stupid. And also, something that you can roleplay with, and keep roleplaying with, and one that takes part in the plots. Oh! I forgot to mention that. Since this is a continent, more than one thing happens at a time. Since this is a freedom based roleplay, you can make your own plots, and I'll add them to the frontpage. These plots can be like wars, contracts, monster bounties, lost treasures etc.
Rules
1. Follow the gaia rules.
2. Follow my rules too.
3. Romance is allowed, keep it PG-13.
4. No God-modding.
6. One liners are allowed, but they're frowned upon.
7. Yes, I said you can create your own things. But when you create monsters, I don't want them destroying other people's cities and junk. Also, don't make a country too powerful.
8. When fighting other people, don't be like "I punched you in the face, so you fall over and burst out crying. I then stab you, and you can't do anything about it." No aim botting, And no controlling other people's movements. That means no auto hitting. That bugs me alot.
9. Respect other players. I like to think of roleplaying as writing a book with many different authors.
10. Enjoy yourself. Yes. This MUST be here, just like every other thread.
11. You didn't realize there wasn't a rule five. HA!
Oh, and another thing. When you create your character, you have a choice. You can either do a "storybook" entry, where things can be revealed when you want to, and it just looks better, without the use of a form, and entering the roleplay in paragraphs, or you can do they bog- standard form, which is here:
Name: Age: Gender: Race (Human, elf, dwarf, made-up creature as long as it's nothing stupid): Job: Weapons: Personality: History: Appearance (You can use a picture, but put it in link form please): Extras (If you've come up with your own things that require an extra, then just put it here)
You can either post the profile in the thread or pm it to me with the title "Stonecrest". I don't really mind.
Oh! I forgot to mention! You can use magic if you want, just don't go overboard. People have limits. Also, you can't be a "master of all elements" or something, unless you plan on being a decrepit old man character. Even then, you still can't have all the magic available. It takes years to learn magic. It's not an easy thing to do. It's okay to specialize in one area though.

A young man sat atop a rock, gazing out to the field of grazing creatures. He gripped his sword, and watched them all, looking out for carnivores. "What a boring job..." he had signed a contract to watch a field of Waffalos for a few hours, which are buffalo-like grazing animals. He had thought that the job would be a little more interesting, as this was on the outskirts of the town, Wellendron, a place in Acirema which was surrounded by wyverns and large, fox-like creatures that hunted the waffalos for food. But no, this evening was rather uneventful. The most exciting thing that had happened was when a waffalo tripped over a log, but it soon rose back to it's feet.
After about half an hour of boredom, finally, something could be heard, but it was difficult to tell what it was. A gust of wind could be seen blowing through some trees near by the field, and then the sound got louder. It was the sound of wings beating. Kain shot up onto his feet, and then drew his sword. It was a wyvern; there was no doubt about it. And as much as the thought of a wyvern attacking all the animals was cruel, he rather relished the thought of having something to occupy himself.
It seemed that all the grazers had noticed its presence too, and started to move away from the forest that the wyvern was in. However, they were too little too late to react as a large dragon-like beast rose out of the trees on its great wings. It was a dull brown colour, and had dark brown scales on top. It was armless; its arms were replaced with wings, but when would it need arms when it had all the power it needed it its vice-like jaws and pincer-like claws?
Kain ran as fast as he could to the area with the wyvern, but he was too late. It had already grabbed a waffalo in its feet, and then crushed the life out of it in the air, which sent blood and guts everywhere. Kain shuddered as the beast had made the kill, and couldn't even see the horror of its own powerful legs.
When he had arrived within twenty metres of it, it had already killed three waffalos, had eaten one, and was starting to snack on the other two. However, it was Kain's job to keep them safe, and he would only get paid if he could keep them safe. "Hey! Over here!" he yelled. The great wyvern turned its head, and Kain knew the trouble that he had just caused himself. From a distance, it didn't look too big, but up close, Kain's height was only as big as the height of the great beast's head. Kain was in deep trouble, and he knew it.
((Damn, stupid long post...))

A ragged cloak was toyed with by the wind, the shoulders they just nearly covered were tanned by the harsh sun. A little eddy hopped under his cape, revealing a bleached red side which had always exposed Myr's back from the sun.
Balancing on his heels but clinching tight to the branch which kept him from falling out of the old tree, bright purple eyes observed his near environment to see if it was safe for him to come down. He had napped for long enough, his neck felt a bit achy. Elegant as he was not, he landed with his feet on his cape and rolled over, dustbunnies attacking him from every angle.
His unsheathed blade loose in his hand, he strolled towards the edge of the forest. A rather bored expression on his face, he was wondering whether he could hunt another one of the strange animals he had found and killed earlier that night deep in the forest. He had the feeling that it didn't belong there, and might had gotten lost from its herd.
He twitched when he heard trees crack and wind gust, not too far from his left. Hiding behind a tree, he saw a big, winged creature, unknown to him, reveal his hiding spot and go after the same kind of animals he feasted on earlier. Even more surprised was he when he saw a young man run towards it, a sword clutched in his hand.
Prudently, he came closer though remained in the shadow of the trees. He made a disagreeing sound when he saw that the young man would actually take on the horrifying creature on his own. Wondering what'd happen, he kneeled, his blade clutched tight, just in case he should interfere.

As the great wyvern edged closer to Kain with curiosity and hunger in its eye, Kain fnally truly saw how big it was. Huh...it looked much smaller in the distance... He stared at the wyvern inquisitively, rubing his chin with his right hand, the shield hand. However, he also focused on the wyvern at the same time, watching every movement.
A wyvern wouldn't attack straight away...I read that in a book...I also read that there are signs that the wyvern is going to attack...If only the book described them! he thought to himself while the wyvern slowly evaluated his opponent, and looking out for any sudden moves. it grew increasing impatient with the staredown.
Now...I know a few basic trapping spells...Well...It's one spell...But I take too long using it, and it's not even that useful...I suppose I could use it if- his train of thought was broken by an ear piercing roar. The wyvern cocked his head and then lunged forwards with blinding speed at Kain.
A swift dive out of the way saved his live, though the side of the wyvern's head brushed his feet, indicating how close he was. "Well standing here isn't going to slay it..." summoning all his courage and wiping the sweat from his forhead, he made a dash straight for the wyvern's head with his shield in front of him. The wyvern had momentaily touched the ground because it tried to bite Kain. When Kain had come close to the wyvern, he swung his sword as fast as he could, using all the muscle he built up from some basic combat training he had recieved from his tutor. However, before he sword hit the wyvern, it swung its great head into Kain, knocking him backwards though it didn't cause any damage since he had his shield in front. "Good thing...For safety first!" he leapt back onto his feet, ready for another round with the wyvern. "Damn it! it's not like I'm miles away from a city? where is everyone?!"

Myr felt the daemon he once trapped in his sword stir, eager for battle. Eventhough it was still sheathed and in his girdle, he could feel it vibrate lightly against his skin. The wyvern was a tad larger than he had expected, which dulled his courage a bit. Adrenaline began rushing through his veins, which were visible on his arms like ropes, when he saw how the man had trouble fighting the beast.
When the man got leaped back, he decided it was time for his blade to roar in its full glory once more.
He closed in from behind, lurking from behind trees to see if the wyvern was still focussed on the young man. When he thought the time was right, he jumped up and unsheathed his blade in full flight. Blackened steel, a rough edge soared thorough the sky and roared with him. It cut through the air, aiming straight for the flanks of the beast, though a sudden movement of the wyvern made it only hit one of the legs, cutting deeply through the skin and flesh.
Myr immediately tore his blade back out of the cut, the rough edge ripping a tendon apart, and went to stand on the man's right side.
"Are you okay?"

thiKain looked at the man who had just arrived, partially with relief, and partially with annoyance. Damn...I asked for help, but...I'd rather not split the pay... He then glanced at the man a second time, finally feeling grateful that he had helped. "Thanks for coming...Personally, I don't like asking for help...And I didn't. But still, I'm just a rookie, so I need it, I admit it...But when I slay this, my tutor will reward me. Well, he didn't say that I had to slay this, but I'm sure he'll be more pleased with me if I get something bigger."
Finally realizing he had just spent the better part of ten second babbling, he finally decided to get back ot the battle. He evaluated the cut mark and then looked at the wyvern's expression, and then analyzed the man's stance and technique, and then looked back at the wyvern. "From the looks of the bleeding on the wyvern, you've cut many veins which means that you also cut straight through the muscle, which impaired his movement. Judging by the way you came and attacked and the way you moved, you seem like an experienced warrior who was aiming for the exact effect on the wyvern to happen. Am I correct?" Though Kain wasn't the most intelligent of people, he enjoyed analysing certains aspects of battles.
"I have an idea, but for it to work, you need to be a decoy. You see, I know a spell that traps things in the ground, and depending on how long I have for the spell depends on how deep the wyvern will be trapped. The way I see things, I think that for the minimal amount of the wyvern to be trapped must atleast go up to the knee. Oh, and the nature of the spell means that you shouldn't step on the glyph that appears once the spell is done." Again, he had wasted his time talking, which gave the wyvern the chance to focus his attention on the warriors again.
"If you have a better idea, I'd like to hear it. If we're to do my idea, I need a minimum of five seconds where I don't have to lose concentration. That should be easy for you." Kain said this as he dashed to the left, which was the right side of the wyvern, and was heading round to the back of the wyvern, but not directly behind it as this was also a bad position to be in.
