After reading a few threads on gaia and actually having a similar situation in real life, it made me wonder what people here think.. Is it possible for a guy and girl to be really close friends without developing feelings for eachother at a certain point?

Hmm.. Thats a good question..
I was best friends with a boy for 3 years, and after that we became lovers..
I'm almost with all my male friends lovers, well you know rolleyes
Not atm , but when i have a male friend, it soonly become a lover.
So i dont think it's possible for a super long ammount of time..

I think at a certain point more feelings will develop. But the question is on what you do with it? Something like that can ruin the friendship or make it stronger. Or make it something more. I think it all depends on the people. It is possible to be just friends, I just don't think it happens that often.

Most of the time it ruins your friendship if you do something with it.
I had a prefect relationship with my best friend.. After a while suddenly loads of fights.. And after 3 times over it was really over. Now we barely ever talk anymore.
Same as with my other best friends.
It depends on the persons indeed, but it also depends on how you break up, and how your relationship was.

Definitely, how everything happens makes a difference in how the friendship goes. If you decide to take things further and break up, your friendship can be gone. If the other doesn't feel the same, it can also make a friendship harder. Really depends on the circumstances.

True, and it depens how much you loved eachother.
If you still care for someone, love them, friendship is soo painfull, when they talk about other loves and such.
It's most of the time to hard

Exactly, and hearing the talk about other loves only gets easier when they find love themselves.

It is possiable not to have feelings with them, I have a best friend who is male and we don't have feelings for each other in that way. Even if I wasn't with Eddy we still would stay the same ^ ^. It just depends on some people.

I think it's possible in the beginning of the relationship but once youv'e been lovers or a true couple then it's hard to go back if you break it off for some people that is!

I totally agree with what Holyangel is saying because well, shes my best friend in real life. In a lot of cases I think that even if one did develop feelings for teh other then they would be to afraid to do anything about it for fear of ruining the close friendship.

I think so because I have a lot of guy friends and We are good. But in some cases there points that it might happen. So yea you can have a good friendship and nothing more if that is what you want. wink

it isnt. soner or later one of them will feel "something more" about his friend.
happened to me alot of times. there i was, thinking i have the best female friend, and then she goes and tells me shes inlove with me =/ and that happened several times.
also, it happened to a lot of my friends too. so i dont believe such a thing is possible.

i have a couple of guy friends, i believe that it is possible , if you have that kind of friend.once i had a guy friend and we actually started dating , then we decided we liked each other more as friends . i guess its ok to have guy friends , but you'll realize that over time 9unless you actually date ) youll start to become "more than friends"
