This is set in a small modern-day city in Azumano, Japan. Gail goes to Azumano High School and Amy works at Takeshi's Buffet. It's halfway through the second quarter of school. (So if you'd like to be a student, you could either be someone who knows Gail and she knows back, or a new arrival.) To most people, the 'Winged Ones' are an urban myth. But there actually are a few of them. They 'call' their wings to them, normally at night or in a secluded place, and basically, the wings magically appear. It also looks like the wings dissolve when they're disappearing. They don't grow straight out of the person's back like the myth says, nor does it hurt very much.(Freshmen: 14-15, Sophomore: 15-16, Junior: 16-17, Senior: 17-18 ) Name: Gail Nithgin Age/Gender: 15 F (freshman) Race: Winged One Appearance: (Indian) Her eyes are a sparkling dark brown, her skin is light brown, her hair is very dark brown at the top, but fades to a light, almost auburn-brown at the ends. It is straight and goes to mid-back, she always leaves it loose. When her wings appear, they are a shimmering black darker than the shadows of night. Clothes: Her regular day clothes are long flare jeans, a t-shirt, and tennis shoes. During the night, when she often goes 'hunting for treasure' and makes her wings appear, she wears a tight black tank top, a smooth black vinyl jacket that is always zipped up, and black pants made of the same material. Her boots, which are also smooth and shiny, are very quiet when she walks. Bio: Gail is two things: a calm, sensible planner, and a feisty, daring thief. At school she can be both- without the thief part, of course. Everyone at her school knows and admires her in some way (she's very popular since she's pretty and smart) and she knows everyone. Even so, she doesn't have a huge group of friends always with her like you'd think. Most people that try to normally want something from her, and don't actually like her for who she is. They often try to take advantage of her, but she's wise to that and doesn't let them. Now back to Gail being a thief- she's more like a borrower. She steals things, often shiny things like jewelry, and gives it back to the person or place she stole it from after about a week. She gets a big thrill from defeating high-tech alarm systems, or even plain old guards.
Name: Amy Nithgin Age/Gender: 19 F Race: Human Appearance: (Indian) Her eyes are light brown, her skin is light brown, her hair is black, thick, and goes about and inch past her shoulders. It is straight and she likes to leave it loose. She does not have wings. Clothes: Her regular clothes are a tank top and short shorts or skirts; she likes to show off her legs. She wears pretty sandals, but rarely heels. She doesn't have special 'night clothes' since she can't accompany Gail on her escapades. Bio: Amy is Gail's older sister. While Gail just became a freshman this year, Amy just got out of high school. She works at a restaurant as a cook, and is really good. Since they are orphans, she always makes food for herself and her sister. The two are best friends. Amy is thought to be easier to take advantage of than Gail, but she really isn't. Gail is always protective of her anyway. Amy isn't always as composed or level-headed as her sister, but neither is she as bold. She is often quite spirited, though. Sometimes she gets worried about Gail when she's out stealing, but isn't against it; after all, Gail always gives the items back. And she knows Gail is good at what she does. She like to watch her little sister when she flies, she leans out over the edge of their balcony's railing to see. Their apartment is pretty big, with a pretty good-sized balcony, two bedrooms and a guest bedroom, a nice living room, kitchen, and two bathrooms.
Name: Vanessa Croulette Age/Gender: 15 F Race: Human Appearance: (French) Her eyes are bright green, her skin is 'white', her hair is blonde, goes to her shoulders, and is in beautiful curls that she always leaves loose. Clothes: She always wears short skirts that just barely meet the school dress code requirements. Her shirts go low in the front and she wears nice sandals. The group she hangs out with wears basically the same. Bio: Vanessa is a preppy girl that puts on make-up (but always just under too much) and is the leader of her friends and the cheerleading squad. She absolutely adores Lance. Most of the popular girls copy her style. She makes fun of people she thinks beneath her, and she and Gail detest each other but pretend they don't in front of each other.
Name: Tim Ekardo Age/Gender: 15 M Race: Winged One Appearance: (French-Canadian) His eyes are a shiny glass-blue, his skin is fair, his hair is jet-black. It is straight, short, and neat. When his wings appear, they are a blue so icy that sometimes you think you can see through them, like an ice cube. Clothes: His regular day clothes are black tight jeans (so not baggy, but not ‘girl pants’), a t-shirt over a long-sleeved shirt, and tennis shoes. During the night, when he goes out flying, he wears a black coat and black boots like these, with something on the inside similar to his school clothes, except light, light blue. Bio: Tim is definitely not a social person. He generally glares at anyone trying to be nice to him, and they don’t make that same mistake twice. Even so, he’s not rude to teachers, but still doesn’t really try to act happy around them. The only person other than the teachers that he’s ever been nice to is Gail. He’s the only one who knows that she’s a Winged One and she’s the only one that knows he’s one too. He’s not all happy around her either, but he’s talked to her a few times without being rude like he is with others. He’s also a good singer, although no one knows it, and a great artist, but only at landscapes. That’s all he likes to draw or paint. Also, Tim is very good-looking, even Vanessa and her friends agree that he’s cute. But no girl will get near him because he scares them. Another thing that no one knows about Tim is his scars. Once, at a point of great depression because of his mother’s death, he took a knife and cut his back four times. One diagonally on each shoulder, and above each hip. Neither his father nor his older brother (who’s Amy’s age) knows. He likes to go flying because it makes him feel free, and sometimes when on a lonely rooftop, he feels like he can sense his mother.
Name: Hana Orinoko Age/Gender: 14 F (freshman) Race: Winged One Appearance: Japanese, very pale skin, brown, almond-shaped eyes, chin-length, straight, shiny black hair with straight bangs, short, frail, pale pink-almost white wings. Clothing: Wears short summer dresses usually with light floral patterns, two butterfly clips (one on each side of her head pulling her hair back), and white sandals. Bio: Extremely shy and quiet, but is a really kind and caring person. Is very artistic and loves paint in the authentic Japanese style and write Haikus. She's cute, but too modest for any of the boys at school to notice her. She's a new freshmen at Azumano Highschool. When she was born, her legs were crippled so she has to wear leg braces. Afraid people would tease her or treat her like an invalid, she chooses to keep to herself.
Name: Lance Holdwell Age/Gender: 15 M (freshman) Race: Winged One Appearance: Lightly tanned skin, amber eyes, shaggy red-orange hair, athletic build, wings have a fiery pattern of dark yellow near his back where they emerge, red-orange in the middle, and dark red at the tips. Clothing: Usually wears jeans or shorts with a sporty T and white tennis shoes. Bio: The school's newest "Sports King". He's a real jock, and is the star player for the freshmen basketball team, football team, and track team. His goal is to claim the title from a departing senior. Because of his success in sports, he is used to hanging out with other jock guys and popular girls. Sometimes he can be a bit thick, but his good looks make up for all of that.
Name: Joji Kentaro Age/Gender: 14 M (freshman) Race: Winged One Appearance: (Japanese) dark brown eyes, black spiky hair, short, his wings are are vibrant yellow, sleek and rather small. Clothes: Wears different colored tank tops, shorts and sandals or jeans and tennishoes depening on the weather. Bio: Being silly and a goof-ball, he is the class-clown. Always wearing a big grin, he always tries to lighten up the mood with a joke or two. He also dreams of being the most popular stand-up comic in Japan, and he spends his free time hanging out with his friends or writing material.
Name: Hiroshi Naoko Age/Gender: 15 M (freshman) Race: Human Appearance: Japanese, brown eyes, black hair neatly combed to one side, tall and straight backed. Clothing: usually wears black dress shoes, slacks, a dress shirt and tie. Also wears square, black rimmed glasses. Bio: The freshman class president, he is serious and has outstanding grades. However, he devotes most of his time prowling the school trying to stop any rulebreakers and sometimes, if he dosen't like them, will report them to teachers to further there already high opinion of him. Thinks very highly of himself, and is rather pompous. Disbelieves in the Winged Ones, and thinks they are 'irrational'.
Name: Nelson Kurosaki Age/Gender: 17 M (senior) Race: Winged One Appearance: (Asian) He has short, carrot-orange hair that is messy that is always all over the place on the top of his head. He has large, light brown eyes that look slightly ethereal beyond his thin-framed glasses. His skin is a ?white? color, but not pale. He?s thin and average height. His wings are pure white, large, and ?fluffy?. They are what you would imagine a female angel?s wings to be like. Bio: Nelson is kind of a nerdy-type kid who is not very social. He likes to study and think about whatever happens to cross his mind. Doesn?t care much for social status, just that people don?t mess with him and take advantage of his placid nature. Lives with his ?sister? Rhiana Longsway in a small apartment that is extremely messy on one side and perfectly organized on the other.
Name: Rhianna Longsway Age/Gender: 16 F (sophomore) Race: Human Appearance: (Caucasian) She has sparkling blues eyes that gaze at almost everything. Her hair is shoulder-length and curls outwards at the bottom. She has flawless curves and is rather appealing to the opposite gender. She?s also a little shorter than normal and has no wings. Bio: Rhianna lives her ?brother? Nelson. She sort of adopted herself to him when he helped her out when she ran away from her aunt. She is messy, unorganized, boisterous, and rather social. She fits in with almost any group of kids her age. She hates it when people talk about her and Nelson behind her back and when they fool around with her. Rhianna cares a lot about people. She?s also not the brightest. She may not be as intelligent as Nelson, but she passes school by with a B average.
Name: Ash Kevron Age/Gender: 18 M (senior) Race: Winged One Appearance: (Caucasian) He has short, dirty blonde hair that is messy. His eyes are a deep-set emerald green. He has white skin with a very light tan. He is tall, toned (not too muscular), and very handsome (very appealing to females). He has beautiful, perfect, white, straight teeth. His wings are dull grey with a thin, light neon, lime green border around the edges. They look similair to Angel's wings except with color variation. (In case you don't know, Angel is from X-Men.) Bio: Believe it or not, but Nelson has a best friend. It is Ash, and Ash is probably Nelson's only male friend. Ash is popular (student body president, tennis player, and leader of the many musical groups) and is a socialite. He is hardly caught not talking, unless he's playing an instrument. He's extremely talented at musical arts and fair enough at athletic activities. Ash plays all types of instruments and enjoys doing it. Ash is a good student, but not as brilliant as Nelson. He gets good grades and his teachers like him except they sometimes get peeved at his talkitive nature. He lives in a college dorm with his older brother, who he excessively admires. Sometimes, he'll play the violin at night when his wings are out, so some of the college students think that there's an angel who is watching over them, and that by playing the violin, he is keeping them safe. They are right though, in a sense!
Name: Sala Kenth Eyes: Green Hair: Long, silky brown Skin: tan, asian. Clothing: usually jeans and a nice shirt, her hair in a low/ loose ponytail Other: She is a winged one, is a new transfer to the school, is relitivly nice and studious, but isn't shy and quiet. She would fit in very well with us, (in reall life), let us say. Has a passion about fantasy and the enviroment, and doesn't alk about family. Ever.
Name: Tymiko ((My characters have a lack of last names with the exception of three. XP Any ideas?)) Age/Gender: 15 F (freshman) Race: Winged One Appearance: She has medium-length wavy black hair and piercing aqua blue eyes, which shines very bright against her dark olive-tan skin. Her wings are a gradient blue, with the darkest hue at the base to a brilliant aqua blue at the tips. Clothes: She wears silver hoop earrings, and a blue bandana wrapped around her hair. (Not in the same fashion as a pirate.) Dangling around the girl's neck is an aquamarine crystal, which she wears to school almost every day. Typically, she wears a tank top, denim capris, flip flops, and a bracelet or two. Bio: Very moody, but usually cheerful. She has a playful and caring personality and is slow to anger, but when she is, she has a dangerous temper. Ty likes to mess around with friends, but never likes to cling only to one group. Sometimes she tends to feel the need to be alone, but whenever she needs company, she can always count on her best friend Peter. She can be naﶥ at times, and appear quite ditzy. She always tends to act awkward around her peers; sometimes too quiet and serious like an adult; sometimes too annoying and mischievous like a troublesome child. Being a teenager doesn?t come naturally to her, but she tries her best to fit in. Her life outside of school is quite a mystery, and it seems the only person who might have any idea of it is Peter, who walks home with her every day.
Name: Peter ((My characters have a lack of last names with the exception of three. XP Any ideas?)) Age/Gender: 14 M (Freshman) Race: Winged One Appearance: Peter has dark, almost empty brown eyes, with long, orange-auburn bangs falling across them. His skin is apricot. Peter?s wings are a vivid green, though the very outer feathers, the primary flight feathers, are scarlet. Clothes: On a usual school day, Peter wears a colored shirt with short sleeves, long shorts at three-fourths length that go just below the knee, a wrist watch on his right arm, and shoe-laced sneaker. Bio: This boy is a quiet sort and mostly keeps to himself. Somehow, he always seems down-hearted and melancholy. With a tendency to forget things, he has a hard time getting satisfactory grades at school, and it seems the only one who can cheer him up is his best friend, Tymiko. Nothing much seems to phase him, unless it serves to depress him further. To others he may seem a pessimist, but because his life outside of school is also a mystery no one can really guess at the reason for his misery. To those who know him better, they notice a friendly, more outgoing side of him underneath.
"He looked like many of the typical high school boys around?hands in his pockets, dragging feet, slumped shoulders; only so much more downcast as his once lively, brown eyes swept the tiled floor.?
Also?It is rumored that Wasibru is Peter?s older sister, due to their similar appearance, though it?s hard for some students to relate the ever-lighthearted girl with such a silent, glum freshman.
Name: Wasibru ((My characters have a lack of last names with the exception of three. XP Any ideas?)) Age/Gender: 16 F (Junior) Race: Human Appearance: Has very vibrant orange hair that?s long, silky, and straight. It goes to waist length, and occasionally puts it up in a fashionable style. If it isn?t the trend of the day, it soon will be. Wasibru has grass green eyes that sometimes twinkle with mischief or excitement. Many have learned to be wary of that mischievous little twinkle; it usually means she?s up to no good, whether she thinks so or not. Her complexion is fair, and somehow seems resistant to sun tans. It never darkens, no matter how much she spends time outdoors. To her admiring girl friends, her flawless skin combined with her love of the outdoors is a mystery. Wasibru happens to be shorter than most 16-year-old girls, but it doesn?t seem to bother her in the least, nor phase her admired reputation. If anything, the boys seem to like it. Clothes: Favorite outfit is a bright green tank top that matches her eyes to wear with her khaki cargo pants for outdoors. She enjoys wearing flip flops, occasionally green nail polish, and likes to carry around a green ipod. Bio: Playful, curious, mischievous, and stubborn, Wasibru is a head-strong girl with a will to speak her mind. It seems she is almost never embarrassed or nervous about anything, despite her many mistakes. As a new student, she was considered strange and weird at first, but quickly caught on to trends, phrases, and styles thanks to her inquisitive nature. Without meaning to, she quickly became popular, and enjoyed it enthusiastically. Shamaki, who happened to transfer at around the same time from what seemd to be the same school soon dubbed her boy-crazy.
"One of the high school boys she had met had commented that because she mentioned being just as popular ?back home?, she must have a very high charisma.?
Rumored to be the older sister of the freshman, Peter.
Name: Shamaki Oro (goes by the nickname of Shami) Age/Gender: 17 M (Senior) Race: Human Appearance: He has long, wild dark purple hair he keeps in a loose ponytail and dual-colored eyes, but otherwise he's pretty much your average guy. He?s got a slim build, as he's pretty athletic, but he's stronger than he looks. His pupils are magenta, and his irisis are indigo, which some students believe are contacts. Since he just recently transferred, they haven?t caused Shami to be considered weirder than any other new kid. With naturally tan skin, the girls tend to think it suits him. He?s been called charming, cute, and even handsome, much to his embarrassment. Clothes: As casual as he is, Shami will wear anything, but as it happens, Wasibru insists on doing his shopping. She has been seen at the mall by other students, sometimes accompanied by friends, dragging Shamaki from store to store. Out of courtesy, he agrees to wear whatever she buy for him, which, of course, happens to be the type of clothes that suit Shamaki well, not to mention the most popular clothes among Senior guys; a casual t-shirt with a cotton jacket and baggy blue jeans. Chains attached to his wallet, which is stowed in his back pocket, dangle. Though he has also been known to wear denim and leather jackets, he always rolls the sleeves up to his elbows if they?re longer. His jackets always have numerous pockets. For his shoes, he wears huge black shoes with two velcro straps. (If anyone knos what those are called, please let me know. I know they have a specific name; they tend to be so big they look too huge for their wearers.) Bio: Interests focus on Soccer, Track, Acrobatics, Music, Girls, and Food. When it comes to food, this Senior is a bottomless pit. No matter how much he eats, he never seems to get any bigger. This includes both muscle and fat, so while he ceases to be overweight, he also gives the appearance of being weak and wimpy. While he has muscles, they are those of an athlete, and aren?t very evident. Yes, Shami can be very charming at times, and often likes to flirt with girls. Sometimes it can be overwhelming, however, and to be stared and giggled at humiliates him greatly.

Gail sighed as she reached the entrance to Azumano High School and looked up at the school's name sign. Her sister, Amy, placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled. "What's wrong now?" she asked jokingly.
Gail gave a slight smile back. "Oh, you know, it's just so boring... Everyone's in their little groups and I'm always alone. Then I have to sit with a different group at lunch each day, and they often mob me with their problems- or their boasts."
"Boring? That sounds fun!" The two were quiet for a moment, then both burst out laughing. "Well, see ya later, kiddo. Try to enjoy yourself, okay?" Amy waved as she walked away, back to their apartment to get ready for work.
The younger sister just rolled her eyes and smiled. As she walked through the large gates of her high school, people from all around waved and greeted her. One guy said, "Hey Gail, was that your sister? Don't you two walk to school and back every day?" Gail nodded. "Man, she's hot!" Gail laughed with the others politely as she kept walking, but inside she was narrowing her eyes and kicking him in the shin.
Another girl complimented her, "Hi Gail! Nice shirt!" Gail thanked her and waved to the other girls as she walked past, but thought, As if I haven't worn it at least once a month since the beginning of school. She also noted that all the girls in that group were wearing mini skirts.
As she passed a group of the 'smart' kids, one said, "Gail! How's it goin'? I hope you're ready for the Geometry test today! Too bad you didn't join our study group in the library yesterday, it really helped!" Gail nodded and made her face look as if she slightly regretted not going, when really, she had studied a bit with her sister. Then again, there wasn't much need to study, the test was on a chapter she found easy.
And that's the start of today, she thought. Same as always. I wonder if anything interesting will happen for once... Oh well. I guess I'll just have to wait and try to enjoy myself, like Amy suggested.

(I'd just like to mention that if you would like to see pictures of my characters there is a link on their profiles. That is all.)
Hana sat alone on a bench under a blossoming cherry tree. She wore a light, summery dress patterened with pale petals and blooms. This was her first week at Azumano High and, as she watched other students rush by, she reflected on her past years in her old town. She had never had any true friends. She had always been too shy. Azumano would be no different.
She pulled her legs up onto the bench and hugged them to her chest. She felt the cool metal of her leg braces press against her skin. Ever since she could remember she had to wear them; without them she couldn't walk. Even with them on she wasn't able to walk as fast or as smoothly as everyone else. The other children in her village used to make fun of her when she was little because she was always falling down. But she learned to pick herself up and ignore them.
Meanwhile, Lance, the freshman sports king, had just arrived in a crowd of friends and followers. He was busy cracking jokes and strutting his stuff when a puny kid rushed up to him and grabbed him by the front of his shirt.
"Hey, Lance, great game last night! You were-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever kid. Hands off the jersey!" He pushed him aside and smoothed off his red and white jersey. "This here is a genuine Japanese Yuta Tabuse jersey. Number 42."
"And doesn't he just look gorgeous in it?" A girl nearby whispered to one of her friends.
"Hey guys," Lance said to his other friends, "I got to get to class, see ya later!" He left the crowd and headed across the campus.

Joji stood with his back against the brick wall a bit farther away from the gate, a notepad in his hand and a pencil in his other. He scribbled spmething down, chewed on his eraser, and quickly scribbled it out, mumbling, "Nah, that one's too hard to get,". Then, he glanced at his watch. "It's late. I better get to class!" he said, before setting off at a fast pace . As he walked throuhgh the gates and onto campus, he passed Hiroshi, who was searching he crowds with prying eyes to see if anyone was breaking any rules.
"Yo, Hiroshi!" Joji caled out. "You caught anyone yet? Maybe you should invest in binoculars, or maybe some infared goggles, those would probably help."
"Keep on walking, Joji Kentaro." Hiroshi said with a tone of unsettling calmness in his voice. "You wouldn't want me to let slip any of my suspicions about the vandalization of the Sophomore bathrooms, would you?"
"Sheesh, I didn't mean to take offense. Besides, I never vandalized any bathroom. After all, they already revolting enough," Joji said.
"See you in geometry," Hiroshi said with a roll of his eyes as he and Joji turned seperate ways to thier lockers.

"Nelson!" a sophomore called energetically. "Can I come with you to class?" She ran up and hooked an arm around her adoptive brother. "Don't hate science that much anymore like I complained yesterday!"
When she got a questioning look from the senoir, she gave him the "puppy-eyes" look that he hated so much. "Please?" she pouted. "Pretty please? I don't wanna hang out with a bunch of losers my age. And your classes have gotta be more interesting."
The older boy pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and removed the arm from around him. "Rhianna, I already told you that you are not going to class with me. Remember? It was about twenty minutes ago!" He frowned.
"PLEASE?" Rhianna asked again. She tosseled Nelson's hair and poked him on the forehead. "I promise I won't get you into any trouble! And I'll keep my mouth shut! And behave and sit up straight and pay attention and take notes and not fall asleep and---"
Nelson continued to frown unhappily. "No. You have your own classes to attend. If you start failing..." He began to lament on this gigantic lecture about success in academic areas for success in the working world.
Rhianna punched Nelson roughly on the arm. "You old goat head with a mouth full of rotten cheese."
Nelson rubbed the aching spot that had just aquired the bruise. "You boring old bookwormy." Rhianna continued. "That's probably why you don't have any girls chasing after you. You're so... uninteresting. Sure you got the looks, but you bore everyone out of their mind!"
Nelson gave Rhianna a quick smile. "Well, then that's excellent for me becuase I don't intend to have females trying to win my affections." And with that, he half walked and half trotted to his AP Honors Bio-Chem/Physics Class.

Gail sat down in the front middle desk of her first period, which was free period, or Study Hall. She never had to finish any of the previous night's homework, so she tried to read. Sadly, that didn't always work out, as many of the 'preppy' girls and boys would always barrage her with questions on their unfinished work. A glance around the classroom told her the same thing happened to the other 'smart' kids.
She was almost glad when next period the Honors Geometry test came and went, then Social Studies period, then Art. She had fun in Art, today they were doing imaginative self-portaits. Some people drew themselves as merpeople, unicorns, even rocks. When Gail drew herself as an angel with black wings, the teacher praised her for the unique darkness the angel had around it, instead of it being a 'being of light'. Gail knew better, it was a Winged One.
Finally it was lunchtime. Today Gail had managed to get a small table by herself, although who knew how long that would last. There were only three more periods of the day left; for Gail that was Honors Chem./Phys., Honors Language Arts, and Cooking. The only reason Gail didn't like being in all honors classes was many people wanted help from her, which normally meant they wanted to copy off her work. She really hated that.
As she ate her home-made lunch she watched kids of all grades pass by. She felt relieved that, even though lunch had only begun, so far none of those loud, obnoxious groups had come to sit with her.
(I hope no one minds that I skipped ahead to lunch.)

(Wow, that day certainly flew by)
Lance was showering after P.E. when the lunch bell rang. Crap! Mr. Duke is gonna fry me if he catches me in here after class again! He bolted out of the shower, grabbed a towel and hapharzardly dried himself off. He went to his locker and pulled his clothes on. They clung to his damp skin. What the hell, he thought, shacking his head like a dog and sending droplets of water across the locker room. As long as I'm outta here in time. He slammed his locker door shut, grabbed his backpack and hurried out.
He met up with his friends in the cafeteria. "What happened to you?" asked one boy. "Decide to go for a swim before lunch or something?"
Lance just laughed it off along with all of the others. But he couldn't help but cringe when he felt a trickle of water soak through his boxers and into a very uncomfortable place. "Uh, I'm gonna eat outside, guys. See you in science." He got up to find a nice sunny place where he could dry out.
Meanwhile, Hana was sitting on the same bench under the cherry tree she had sat that morning. She was taking a sip of juice when she spotted a boy with red-orange hair approach. She remembered his name was Lance or something similar to that, and that he was a real jock. Why is he coming over here? she wondered, keeping her eyes on him. Shouldn't he be surrounded by those other sports players? She tried to blend in with the scenery, hoping he wouldn't come any closer.

Joji walked with his lunch with one of his friends and sat down next to Gail. He was just about to start eating when he noticed that Hiroshi was sitting at a table across from theirs, pretending to eat his lunch but really was eyeing him like a hawk. *Gosh, that guy won't stop hounding me!* he thought. Just then, a sly smile crept across his face. "Play along," he whispered to Gail out of the corner of his mouth. He turned to his friend, tehey winked at each other, and his friend started to speak. "That was some party last night, huh Joji?" his friends said just loud enough for Hiroshi to hear, which made him sit bolt up right. "It sure was," Joji went on, in the same loud voice. "I haven't had so much fun in years. Did you have a good time?" Joji asked, turning to Gail and giving his head a small nod. "Your on," he whispered to Gail under his breath. By now Hiroshi was listening his hardest, not even attempting to be inconspicous anymore.

Nelson wasn't one who really cared to eat lunch while socializing with other students. So, he briskly walked and ate and walked and ate and walked and ate and walked and ate some more. He went down abandoned hallways and looked at his surroundings.
It was common so see some students, but to see the jocks out of the cafeteria so early into the lunch period was slightly abnormal. Nelson stopped in mid-stride and looked. After a few seconds, Nelson realized he was plain view. So, he darted behind a tree and continued to watch.
Rhianna burst into the caferteria with a big entrance. She was singing on the top of her lungs and dancing in a slightly corny fashion. "You and me baby baby ain't nothin' but mamals so let's do it like they do it on the Discovery Channel."*
She kept on singing as she got her lunch and plopped right down infront of a boy and a girl sitting at the same table. She brought her vulgar song to a close and smiled at the two. "Whatcha think? I'm pretty good, huh?"
*This is from the song "Discovery Channel" that was remixed by the Bloodhound Gang. If you happen to know the song, I am sorry. It was on the radio right now and I couldn't think of anything else to put.
If you don't know, I suggest you don't look for it. You might be a little olverwhelmed... It's rather... perverted...

Sala sauntered into the cafeteria after the very bold girl singing an... interesting song. She had just arrived in time for lunch and was going to try to find someone to warn her about the pros and cons of her schedule. So she looked around and figured, 'Hey, they don't look so bad.' So she approached the table the singing girl ahd just sat down at and said, "Hello. I'm Sala, and I just got here." No wanting to seem timid, (her tone was not at all timid), she sat down, seeing no sign of saved spots. (If I missed a part about saved spots she can move later.) "What can you tell me about this schedule, this school, and if it's not too bold or stupid a question, your names and selfs?"(I think Neri put my profile in. blaugh )

Gail raised an eyebrow. "Uh... yeah... it was nice," she said uncertainly. Then suddenly two odd girls came to sit at the table. She sighed mentally. Of course... it never fails. Although this is one of my weirder days. Why did I have to be dragged into Joji's annoyance of Hiroshi? And why is a sophomore coming here? And this Sala girl? And why do I seem to attract loud people? she thought.
"Yeah, that was, well, nice," she said to Rhianna. "My name is Gail, Sala. Nice to meet you." She briefly shook Sala's hand, then stood up. "Now if you would excuse me, I should probably be going outside." She was as polite as possible as she left the cafeteria with her things.
Once outside, she breathed a relieved sigh. Glancing around for a place to sit, the only empty spot she saw was next to another girl. Hmm... isn't she another new girl? she thought. Might as well go say hi...
She walked over and sat down, not noticing Lance coming. "Uhh... hi," she said. "I'm Gail. I hope I'm not bothering you, it's just there's nowhere else to sit..."

Hana had been too preoccupied with lance to notice Gail. Now that one of the most popular girls in school was sitting next to her, she could hardly manage to answer, let alone think.
She looked at Gail her eyes like a surprised owl's. "That's ok! I wasn't doing anything," she exclaimed, so quickly she could hardly understand herself. She went to put her remaining lunch back inside her lunchbox, but winded up spilling the entire thing onto the ground. "oh no!" She bent over to pick it up, blushing.
Lance spotted Gail go over and sit by another girl. Then he saw the other girl freak out and drop her lunch. He chuckled despite himself, but immediately recoiled when he saw how embarrassed the other girl looked. Deciding to make up for his rudeness, he walked over to the bench.
"Hey, you need some help with that?"
Hana, bent over with her eyes on the ground, heard Lance's voice and froze. How could this be happening to her? And especially after she tried so hard to just dissappear! Unable to do anything, she simply stayed completely still, with her eyes locked on the pavement, in some instinctual animal hope that they would think she had died and leave her alone.

Joji looked at his friend and said, "Let's go outside,". They guzzled down the rest of thier lunch and walked outside, only seeing the bizzare scene. Hiroshi saw Joji walk outside, inch his way to the trash can, and quickly dump the contents of his lunch. Despite his efforts, everyone at his table was staring at him like he was a madman, and Hiroshi quickly went outside to listen in on Joji's affairs.
Joji looked at Hanna bent down on the ground. "Is she OK? She looks like she just lost her lunch. Is that it on the grass?" He asked Lance.

Rhianna frowned when the boy just got up and left the cafeteria. She grumbled a little to herself. "That's very nice. Leave me when I make my entrance." She poked at her food a little and ate it.
"Oh, by the way," she said to Sala, "the name's Rhianna." She offered the other girl her hand. "I'm not thrilled to meet you, but, what can I say? Lying won't get me anywhere."
Nelson, suddenly uninterested in the scene unfolding before him, started to walk away from the group. He walked a little faster though for he didn't want to talk with anyone at that moment. All that happened to be on his mind right now was animal habits.

Sala was a little concerned about the quik exiting emediatly following her showing up, but she decided not to be paraniod. "Well, Rhianon, it's nice to meet you. I won't lie either... it's nice, but because it's interesting. Anyway, is there anything I should know about this school.... and do you mind if I stay here? Until I finish my lunch?" She raised an eyebrow, knowing she was making a blunder here, but also knowing there was nothing she could do about it...
