Nestled in the foothills of the Fort Hold mountain range is a small secluded hold. The land surrounding the hold is diverse. A small stream runs near the hold, fields for crops and pastures are within walking distance, and a forest borders the hold on the east side.
The hold itself is made of stone brought down from the nearby mountains, carefully crafted and put together. The sounds of children laughing can be heard ringing in the clear air along with the gossip of the women and the news from the men.
This is where Eldawen and Zane call home.

El and Sanrith popped out of between above the small hold. Sanrith bugled her arrival as she glided down to the entrance of the hold. Several people had stopped what they were doing and stared in awe at the glorious gold soaring above them.
By the time that Sanrith had safely landed, a small crowd had gathered to welcome El home. El smiled and said her greetings to everyone as she dismounted her dragon.
There is a lake nearby if you wish to swim, love. El told her queen as she scratched her eye ridge.
I will wait for Zalith and Zane to get here first. Sanrith replied.

Zane and Zalith popped out from between only moments after El and Sanrith's conversation. Zane sat strait and proud, trying hard to shake the 'troublesome youngster' sign that he felt branded to his head. He dismounted and slid down Zalith's forearm. He walked up to El, put his arm around her waist and kissed her strait on the lips. When he pulled back he was smiling, he had wanted to do that in front of these people for many years.
Hello Sanrith. Would you like to swim in the lake nearby?? The bronze looked over at the gold shining in the sun, multi-facetted eyes glinting in the light.

Lianna dropped her bag at her Grandmother's house, before running outside. She had heard that a gold dragon was outside. A gold! A queen! And a bronze! Wow. She thought happily. Dashing to the entrace, she gaped openly. Wow. The she was. How... gorgeous. Look, there's the rider!
"Oh, wow." She breathed. Sliding her way to the front of the crowd, her mouth dropped. Wasn't that the girl who had been related to the the Lord? People from this hold actually got a chance to impress? Could she?
"Mum, can, can I, could you..." She said, blushing. "I want to be a canidate!" She finnaly blurted out. "I mean, that is, if I'm allowed- Am I?" She blushed harder.

El smiled up at Zane as they broke the kiss. "Thank you for coming." she whispered, wrapping an arm around his waist. She still couldn't get used to the fact that it felt so right being in Zane's arms. Her thoughts were interuppted by a girl asking to be a candidate. El turned around and looked at the girl.
"You can be...if the dragons find you appropriate to stand on the grounds." El explained, slightly recognizing the girl.
What do you think, Sanrith? she asked her dragon.
Give me a moment. Sanrith replied, studying the girl.

"Really?" She beamed. Freezing in place as Sanrith inspected her, Lia said conversationally to Eldawen, "She's gorgeuos, Mum." Lia had been living as a maid in the Lord Holder's house, and old habits die hard.
Lia curtseyed when she thought she could, her eyes wide as she watched the gold. "When did you impress her, Mum? I remember you were in the Lord's house. Weren't you?"

Zane sqweesed El closer to himself and looked through the crowd. He didn't see the Masters-Lord and Lady Holder you deadglow!! They are no longer your masters!! Stop thinking about them that way!. He wasn't sure if he could deal with thier scorn just yet. Zane looked around in the crowd and saw some girls a bit younger than El and remembered playing with Nira. Zane squweesed El a bit tighter and then relaxed.
Zane looked through the crowd, doubtfull that anyone would reconize him. As he did so his eyes landed on a big figure in the doorway he knew led to the kitchen. The man was balding and was only a little bit smaller than the doorway. He was wearing a dirty apron and had a rag in his hands. He was red in the face. Zane tensed and his hand around El's waist tightened when he noticed the man. The big man's face got redder and he turned away and stalked inside again. Doubtless going to finish dinner.

El smiled kindly at the girl. "There is no need to be so formal with me. Eldawen or El will do. I Impressed Sanrith little less then two years ago."
So far she is a nice girl, I think she will do well. Sanrith replied.
"Sanrith says thank you for the compliment and she finds you fit to stand on the grounds." El announced, smiling broadly.
El felt Zane's grip around her tighten a bit, and she looked around just in time to see Zane's father disappear into the hold. She took his hand in his and gave it a gentle squeeze.

When El took his hand and squeezed it, Zane started. He turned away from the man that still haunted his dreams and looked down at his love. He bent down and whispered in her ear. "Thank you. I am glad you made me come. Maybe I'll fight my dragon's today. Do you know if we'll stay for dinner? Or do you want me to get something from the kitchen and we'll eat at our Place?" Zane smiled and kissed El at the pressure point behind her ear, flicking his tongue gently.
I aggree, she seems fit for the stands. But neither of us are search dragons. Zalith nuzzled the gold, eyes whirling a blue/purple.

"I was hoping to eat here. It has been several months since I last visited. What were you hoping to do?" she asked softly, wiggling as he kissed behind her ear.
Sanrith gave a nod of agreement.

Zane smiled as El reacted to his teasing. "I would rather have eaten in our Place. But it's okay. I'll eat hear, I'm just nervase(sp?) about what the Mas- The Lord and Lady Holder will say. I fyou remember I didn't know leave this Hold on good terms with anyone." Zane said, his voice undertoned with worry. His eyes flicked to the door of the kitchens and then to the door the Lord and Lady would come through, body still tense.
Zaleth pushed against the ground and spred his wings. He pushed up from the ground and flapped his wings as he went into the air. He gaind altitued and waited for Sanrith to join him before he went to the lake.

"Oh, yes, Mum. I mean- Lady Eldawen? Wow. Should I go get my things, or something? Or-" She stopped rambleing, but her mind was still racing. Me! A dragonrider! Oh, wow! Mayebe I can impress a gold like her!
"Me, a queenrider. Wow. That would be great!" Lia blushed.

El smiled up at him, "It will be alright, I promise." She turned back to the girl.
"You still have some time, I'm planning on dining with my uncle and aunt this evening. What is your name?"
Sanrith pushed up off the ground and joined Zalith.
Lead on my dear bronze. she said.
