They really don't go into his history that much. It is there though...it's little brief comments over how he met Tanis and such. That's in Dragons of autumn Twilight...
They talk about his family's bloodline in "War of the Twins", but other than that, there really isn't much we can learn of Flint's past.

he worked in Qualinesti making jewlery and selling it, then he met Tanis and Tanis said that he was underpricing it and they became partners. And he was 'captured' by gullydwarves an made their king for three years.

Books telling some of the history of Flint.

Meeting Sextet Vol #1. Kindred Spirits
Meeting Sextet Vol #2. Wanderlust
Heroes Trilogy II Vol. #2 Flint The King

And for a good history on the dwarves themselves, check out the Dwarven Nations trilogy.

I think my favorate Flint moment in Chronicles was with the helmet that had a tassel of "Hair from a Griffon's Mane" xd I nearly died laughing at that...
(For those who don't know...A Griffon's head is that of a giant Bird, so...it having a mane is next to impossible...)

Really? I loved Brothers Majere. It was the first DragonLance novel I owned. I thought it had a good story as well.

I also enjoyed Kendermore. Mary Kirchoff is an amazing writer. Riverwind, the Plainsman was okay, but it seemed to rushed at the end.

Darkness and Light and Tanis, the Shadow Years were both horrible, although Darkness and Light ended up being very important in later years.

I didn't enjoy Kendermore, simply because I truly feel that Mary Kirchoff took the "Uncle" part of Uncle Trapspringer too literally. Weis & Hickman had stated prior to Kendermore's publicatioin that "Uncle" is merely a term of endearment among the Kender people. it has as much meaning as "Father's Brother's nephew's cousin's uncle's former roommate"

Personally I had mixed feelings with Brother's Majere...I honestly feel that Margaret Weis is the only author who can truly show you Raistlin's mind and that Caramon isn't a buffoon.

Just don't get me going on "Tanis: The Shadow Years". I hated that one so much I didn't even finish it.

I'm still wondering how, if the book is like the other preludes and takes place between The Soulforge and Chronicles, how the ******** does Tanis interact with Fistandantilus when the lich is currently part of Raistlin?

He wasn't completely part of Raistlin, just partially.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 28, 2006 4:10 pm

But still, how could he be in 2 places at once. He's still partially connected to Raistlin, but focused on taking over Raist at the first chance he gets. If he's distracted with Tanis, he's taking focus from his goal. That really isn't a Fistandantilus type of move...

I disagree. He wasn't waiting for the first chance to get into raistlin. That's made clear in War of the Twins when the tower guards are reading his memories. Fistandantilas was attached to raistlin and still living a life in the past. This is shown when Raistlin reveals his true self to him. he says that it wasn't time. That he would move forward when he was ready to become the master of past and present, which was wrong as we all new.

While he was back in the past teaching students and doing other wizardly things, he could have easily cast a spell to contact Tanis in the future. If he was doing nothing but watching Raistlin for a chance to take over, he would have known that Raistlin had travelled back in time.
