Abandon all hope ye who enter here without having read the 6th book (yup, this is based on what may happen in Book 7, so not reading Book 6 means bad things for you). Also, when it says "we" in the rules, it means "I" These rules are jsut from an RP I made a while back with a friend.

Year six at Hogwarts ended with a major upset-the death of the school's most dedicated headmaster to date. Now it's the summer before school starts up again (hopefully) and only the impending wedding of Bill Weasley to one Fleur Delacour serves as a deterrant from the darkness threatening to invade the wizarding world.

At this point in time, the wedding is a week away. Hermione is already at the Burrow, helping to make last minute preparations. Harry is still at the Durselys, for what promises to be a rather eventful final summer of his childhood. Now some rules.


1. THIS IS A VERY LITERATE RP!!!!! We cannot stress this enough. One of the reasons we created this RP is to avoid the illiterate RPers who just make RPing annoying and confusing. Ergo, we request that when you ask to join, you make your first post as your character before we approve you as a sample of your writing ability.
Literate to us means that you use proper grammar and spelling, though we will be much more relaxed concering OOC statements. We don't want to see something like: *walks into common room sees ron* "Hi" *harry says*We would prefer a longer or at least more detailed post than that but if you're lacking in the creative department at least say: Harry entered the Common Room and saw Ron sitting in a chair. "Hi, Ron. What's up?" He sat down in the chair by the fireplace. Or something like that. Also, we would prefer some creativity and imagination in your posts, not just strict plot. Introspection is fine.

2. We ask that you don't join as an original, or made-up, character. We would like to start with characters from the books, at least until we get a good amount of them. Afterwards, we may allow made-ups.
And when joining, remember this is going to be Year 7, so no Cedric or Sirius or anyone no longer pertinent to the story.

3. Please keep this PG-13. This means while swearing is allowed, please keep it to a minimum and try not to use the "really bad" words.
Pg-13 also means no cybering. Romance IS allowed and expected, but anything involving taking clothes off or any indecent exposure or overly sexual comments belongs in the PMs. Remember that younger children may be in this RP. THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!

4. When OOC use (()). Put your dialogue in quotes. No saying Harry says hi. Instead, say Harry says "Hi." or just plain "Hi.".
Actions should be just plain text and thoughts in italics.

5. Don't make those annoying quote ladders where you have quoted the last 10 posts. If you must quote, which may happen since things can get confusing at times, please keep it to only one or two at the most.

6. NO GODMODDING!!! You may play as another character under two conditions, and two only:
a. The character is needed for the scene and does not yet have someone playing them. You may play them as an NPC as long as one of us approves.
b. The person who plays the character gives you permission to play that character while they're away.

7. There is NO:
Bumping
Flaming
Coming back to the RP once you've been banned, unless you PM us and get permission

8. Please post your intention to RP in the forum, no need to PM. This means making a post that shows your RP abilities as the character you would like to be. Also, join as one character only and if you want to be a second one eventually, ask. Character pairs like Crabbe and Goyle and the Weasley twins can be played by one person at their request.

9. It is very important that you only rp as characters who you know you can convincingly RP as. We are following the series and we expect the characters you play to follow that plotline.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ANY OF THE ABOVE RULES WILL LEAD IN BANISHMENT TO THE LIST OF SHAME.

As a small side note, I often find that girls end up playing Harry and Ron. Though it's not a big deal, I kind of like when guys play them, so if girls can play a female character and guys play a male one that would be great. Not to be discriminatory, but I find it easier for people to play their own genders because the way of thinking is more similar. Thankies!
