Jenna had only been in the world for a sand's grain of time and already she was picking up so many sights, sounds, and smells that sparked her newly hatched interest. Little nostrils flickered as she nosed up a patch of clover and sunlight showered over her in bands.

Keiji, also the small newborn that he was, laid in the tall grass half asleep. The sweet smell of the grass continuing to waft through his nose. He snorted it out for a moment before yawning and lifting his head to 'look' around. His still closed eyes not able to give him any sight details, but his nose picked up on a few scents in the air. He could smell a few other unfamiliar things in the air at the moment, but couldn't place them.

Jenna yawned wide, the wind dancing on the grass with a gentle whoosh and the sound of birds warbling cheerily were lulling her into a sleepy swoon. She stretched and rolled to her back before curling up again and letting the sounds fill her mind with dreams.

Keiji sniffed the air again as the gentle breeze came over him. He then started to wiggle his small body across the grass and over to the odd smell. As his body inched across the grass he came closer and closer to Jenna. He smelled the scent growing stronger and so let out a loud chirp.

Jenna let out a squeal, a scent she didn't recognise came close and instead of getting scared like most would do she started chirping the "begging" chirp she gave to her mother and father when she wanted to be cuddled, washed, or fed. Her head turned this way and that but all she sould see was sunlight on the back of her lids.

As soon as Keiji reached Jenna finally, he practically ran into her. He couldn't really tell where he was going, he was simply following his nose. He let out a chirp as he hit Jenna's soft coat. Keiji sniffed at her coat as well and confirmed to himself that it was the scent he was following.

Jenna chirruped and felt another warm body that felt just as soft as hers bump against her. She knew it wasn't mother or father, but perhaps it was a brother or sister? Without hesitation she moved to stick her nose against Keiji for a thorough sniffing. Without thinking, instincts drove her to try and wash him.

Keiji was slightly startled to feel the other being attempt to wash him. He didn't recognize the others smell and so wondered why it was attempting to clean him. He turned his head towards the hippogryph cleaning him and chirpped lightly while nibbling at her fur. He didn't know who they were, but he supposed they weren't a threat.

Jenna chirped with enthusiasm at Keiji, she tried to wobble about to move around him for further inspection only managing to inch about in a tight circle. Stopping suddenly to yawn, she felt the urge to sleep flood her all over again.

Keiji could tell by smell and the way the grass and other plants moved that the gryph was moving about him. He let out a small chirp and wiggled to the side as well to face Jenna. He stretched his head forward slightly to sniff the air for her. He moved his head to the side slightly and sniffed again smelling the clovers this time. He hadn't noticed them before due to the excitment of smelling Jenna. He let out another chirp.

Jenna snuggled up against Keiji and gave a little stretch, feeling the warmth of sunshine and of Keiji's body against hers made her feel soooooo sleepy. She started chirping so softly that it was barely audible, almost singing herself to sleep as her head began to droop and her little paws tucked snuggly underneath her.

Keiji felt Jenna's small body snuggle up against his. He could feel her chirp softly by the way she took in breaths, but his mind started to become sleepy as well. He let out another chirp, he didn't want to go to sleep yet. He hadn't figured out who his new friend was. It wasn't like the other hippogyph before, Lirit. He nudged his head to the side against her and rolled slightly to the side.

Jenna tried to wake up against, though her curiosity wasn't enough to sustain consciousness for long. She peeped back at Keiji, hardly able to lift her head in response. She tried to peep once more, but a yawn overtook it and her mouth opened wide.

Keiji could tell now that the other gryph was going to sleep. They were less responsive. He 'huffed' and then let out a yawn. He was defeated for now. His curiosity would have to wait it seemed. He set his head down and surrendered to his own newborn sleeping tendancies.

Clover was sprouting out in large, lush patches wafting out its sweet scent over the hills where Jenna was curled and warm sunlight warmed her tiny body.

While her parents were out, Malcom was assigned the task of minding her. He didn't know why, wasn't there a den mother for this sort of thing? Then again, they weren't home in the mountains. They were here in the center of it all, amongst the many others showing off their season's new chicks and not all chose to venture out this far with their young.

"I don't get why they picked me," Malcom said, with Jenna nestled between his warm, protective arms. "Do I -look- like a den mother?"

Jenna peeped at him as he spoke, enjoying the sound of his voice and his warmth. After attempting to get a nose full of clover and sneezing, she bobbed her head and cheerily started trying to groom at Malcom's arm.

"H-hey, stop it. That tickles," Malcom said as he laughed gently. "I guess you're kind of cute when you want to be... I mean, when you're not crying or trying to chew on my pinky toes."

Jenna chirruped at his voice, nuzzling into him and peeping before letting out another wide yawn. She would sleep in what seemed to Malcom as random intervals and he was beginning to see her daily routine. It was get up and eat, try to play as best she could though only the tiniest pinpricks of light were reaching her eyes as her lids were slowly beginning with their promise of opening. Then she'd peep trying desperately to stay away to play and then she'd yaaaaaaaaaawn.

"When are you gonna get more interesting?" Malcom said, though there was no malice in his voice. "I mean, all you do is eat and sleep."

He sighed and looked around, all the others seemed to be enjoying themselves as they spoke to old friends and family whom they hadn't seen in a long time. Malcom had no family to speak of and Jenna's parents found that fact to apparently mean "I have nothing better to do but watch your little furball.", it seemed to him. He rolled his sky blue eyes and looked back down to Jenna. Jenna was busily trying to gum at his arm, as though she could even see what she was doing. She peeped and yawned at him again.

"You're going to make -me- fall asleep if you keep doing that," Malcom said to her.

Her prescence was kind of a comfort, oddly enough. Her snowy, glistening fur reminded him of his home in the mountains. Malcom nosed her to keep her from getting out from the little mini playpen of his arms, others stopped and watched him with either a snear or a giggle. He felt his face grow hot with embarassment, but he stuck to his duty. I mean, what -else- was there to do? It wasn't as though anyone here besides Jenna's parents felt he held any true worth. He pondered what Jenna's rank would be, then. Not all were allowed to have children. Was she born into a higher rank than he was? Would she be bossing him around for the rest of his days? Would be be pretty?

He gently started grooming the top of her head, Jenna peeped at him with enthusiasm though she was slowly growing more and more sleepy in the warmth of his body and the spring sunlight. What would be in store for this newborn?

Each day so far had brought Felicity happiness. There was very little that the young chick had to complain about. As each day passed, her hearing became more acute, her eyelids grew lighter, and her tiny body gained mobility. Still, she had the coordination of a one legged caterpillar, but that was alright, seeing as all she could do was crawl anyway.

A small yawn escaped her throat. Today had begun mellow, and it had only progressed to remain as such throughout the early afternoon. Felicity waddled calmly through the high grass, her ears swiveling about quickly. Noises were no longer faint buzzes to her- but instead, a more pronounced, distinct sort of muttering. She was very proud of her progression, and while she was still a bit crestfallen that she couldn't see, she knew to take things one step at a time.

The fluffy white chick chirped softly to the grass, pressing her muzzle into it gently. It was so lovely and soft! It tickled her velvety snout, and she let out a short, quiet squeal. That was about the umpteenth time she'd done that today. It was getting old. Felicity craved something new! Adventure!... Or maybe something a bit safer. Anything that would entertain her.

Jenna was soooo full! After her lunch she was again ready to play. At least, play as much as she could with a belly so full it was making it hard to lie down in any position that was comfortable. She wobbled about like a little ball with legs that stuck out in all directions. Tiny wings that had no other purpose for the meantime but to make her itchy. She chirped, complaining at anyone who'd listen to reach and scratch them for her. Tiny points at the innermost part of her eyes were opening and her ears no longer had that fat, squashed look that Malcom had come to recognise on chicks her age.

Malcom was again being pushed into watching her by her parents, who seemed again content to leave her in their care. Where was a den mother when you needed one? Nothing could save him, when he was given orders he was pretty much commited to them and he heaved a sigh.

"Don't wander far, though I can't imagine you -could- with that full stomach," he chuckled.

He lay down and watched her roll about in the tall grass. She looked like a little worm, he thought, as she seemed all too content to roll around blindly and enjoy the fact that she was fed and comfortable.

Well, now was a better time then any to interject, wasn't it? Lirit had splashed upon the scene with a grim, taunting smirk settled onto his muzzle and an idly flicking tail behind him. His paws kneading the soft earth beneath him, claws flexing and relaxing beneath his weight. Two chicks and... What looked like a mountain of black and white fluff. Their father, perhaps? Lirit doubted it. Neither of the two lightly colored chicks looked enough to be related to him. The white one, maybe, but she was much too far off. The big guy didn't even seem to have noticed the white one.

His attention already cast, Lirit slid down the dusty hill with a suprising amount of grace. He held himself with a superior air- his broad haunches squared as he sauntered up to and behind the big black and white Gryphon.
"Don't you have better things to do then to babysit?" he asked in monotone, coming up from behind Malcom before he reached the other Gryphon's side, pulling up and sitting across from him.

Felicity twitched her little nose. What was this? New smells! With a gleeful chirp, the little chick changed directions. Her tiny legs carried her in a feverent crawl as she darted in the direction Jenna was in. Her sense of direction was curiously accurate- though Felicity didn't seem to notice her own preciseness.

The newborn came to a short halt, pausing just before she would've bumped into Jenna. Squeaking happily in introduction, the little chick waggled her tail rapidly behind her, gleeful to make a new acquantince.

It was beautiful outside today. Felicity couldn't even remember the last afternoon she'd spent mentally complaining about the unfriendly weather. Any traces of an unkind climate seemed to have vanished. All that the little chick could think of was how absolutely gorgeous it was outside.

Well, not quite. She thought of something other then that.
I can actually see how beautiful it is now! she thought with great enthusiasm, actually letting out a tiny squeak, despite her constant efforts to keep her happiness contained. A little bit, at least. It probably wasn't very flattering of yourself to go around constantly peeping and squeaking every time a happy thought breezed through your mind.

Felicity, who had been constantly talking (mostly to herself when there wasn't anyone else around- or to Cael, who didn't seem to really understand her) had become a master of speech already. With her lilac, frosty eyes wide open, the estatic infant could now walk, talk, and see. Today was marvelous!

Jenna was trying to run, but all she had been managing was walking quickly to stay upright and letting gravity move her forward. She cooed with enthusiasm, letting out a squeal every now and then.

Malcom had resigned himself to be the permanent babysitter at this point, rolling his eyes at her enthusiasm. He barely remembered being that happy with an eagerness to learn everything about the world around him - but then he remembered being bullied heavily. Malcom watched her with an inner jealousy and tried to change the subject in his mind.

"Say Malcom, Jenna... Maaaal... cooom..." he attempted.

"Grrrrbbb...!!" she laughed.

"Voices!" Felicity squeaked aloud as opposed to simply thinking it. That was, afterall, how she had taught herself how to talk. It was much easier verbalizing your thoughts rather then just thinking them- especially when you were first beginning to learn the general language.

Excited at the sound (which she heard crystal clear!) of other voices, Felicity began to trot with a great, full fleged heartfeltness, towards them. Just as she trudged over a small hill, she saw the tiny gryphon with a much, much larger one! Had those huge things always been there, or was Felicity just suprised now to actually see one? Gulping bravely, the little girl sped down the hill, controling her speed mildly as she skidded to a halt... Before falling over.

She may be an infant now, but she still had horrible coordination skills.

Teetering up towards the pair enthusiastically, Felicity spoke, her speckled rump wagging eagerly behind her.

"Hello! I'm Ellie, what's your names?" The little gryphon hadn't realized that when introducing one's self, you should generally use your full name. Not the nickname that your human used for you.

"I'm Malcom," Malcom replied, herding Jenna back to where he could keep a safer watch on her. "This is Jenna. Can you say hello, Jenna? Say hhheeh-llooo..."

Jenna looked at his mouth, her eyes going cross-eyed with all the concentration she could muster as she tried to form the words with her own little mouth.

"Loooo..." she said, then started laughing again. "Eeeeeee!!" she started to scuttle around his legs in figure eights.

Malcom sighed and let his head drop.

Felicity was clearly oblivious to Malcom's defeated feelings. As a matter of fact, Jenna's giggly playfulness was quickly rubbing off onto the little white gryphon herself. Squealing happily and throwing her little head into the air with enthuse, Felicity yipped twice in quick sucession.

"I'll teach you how to talk!" she decided cheerfully, trotting bouncily towards Jenna as she plopped down right in front of her, her black tail flicking at her freckled rump. "Elllll-eeeee," she said slowly, making the syllables very pronounced and clear. Perhaps her nickname was a good thing after all. 'Felicity' was a lot harder to say then 'Ellie' was, anyway.

Jenna took a breath, Malcom shut his eyes tight as his ears went flat against his skull. He knew this was coming.

"LEEEE-LEEEE!!" shouted Jenna, her front feet going up into the air with a hop as she shouted to the top of her lungs. "Jen jen jenjen JEN!"

She started chasing her own tail, squealing as she fell over and then tried to catch it again.

"Lovely singing voice, Jenna," Malcom exhaled, rubbing at one ear with his paw.

Felicity's eyes darted wildly between Jenna and Malcom. The fellow infant had only taken a great draw of breath- yet somehow, the big fluffy boy seemed to have been anticipating something greater. How had he known that Jenna was going to scree-

"OH MY GOODNESS!" Felicity cried over Jenna's shrieks, before promptly falling onto her belly and splaying her paws out in front of her, giggling madly. "You're a bit giddy now aren't you, Jenna?" she sputtered between fits of laughter, her eerie lilac eyes watching Jenna with pure amusement. What fun this girl was going to be to have as a friend!

Then, very suddenly, Felicity turned her attention, sober once more, to Malcom. "Singing?" she repeated curiously, blinking before she returned to watch Jenna as she pronounced her own name over and over again. Felicity knew that word. Singing. Singy. Singsong. She liked to sing a lot! When she was a newborn, she would trill and squeak and sing. Now, of course, she didn't want to- not in front of them, at least! Smiling happily, Felicity stood up again, prancing over towards Jenna and nudging her gently. "Say Ellll-eeee!"

"She only -thinks- it's singing," Malcom went on. "Say Ellie, Jenna."

Jenna looked to them both and then sat down, her little chest heaving as she was catching her breath. She laughed and let herself fall over with her feet in the air, kicking at nothing. She noticed her tail and tried to do a sit up to try and grab it with her forepaws.

"Lee-lee!!" she repeated, insisting that that must be the only -proper- way to say a name that complicated.

"Don't ever give Jenna any sweets," Malcom made a mental note out loud.

Felicity hardly heard Malcom's answer, kind as he was to recognize her little statement- she was much too fascinated with the lack of attention span that Jenna had mastered. Grinning playfully, Felicity crouched down, her black speckled rump in the air, wagging happily, as her forepaws kneaded the ground.

"Let's play! Since you can't talk right, let's wrestle!" she insisted happily, since wrestling was clearly the best alternative to teaching her how to speak.

Felicity growled playfully, opening her eyes wide, hoping to catch Jenna's attention at least for a bit.

Malcom stepped away from that proposition. "Fine, but leave me -out- of it. The last thing I need is to be covered in chick drool."

He sat and watched them both play from a safe distance.

Jenna squealed loudly as Felicity growled at her. She attempted a growl back.

"Rrrrrr...!" she said, though it was hard to look intimidating when your feet were in the air and you had been trying to eat one of your own shed feathers.

What's more is she was teething and only a tooth or two was poking through her soft pink gums. Drool was beginning to pool on her upper lip from lying on her back and she let it all out in a spray the moment she realised it.

"Pppppbbbbbbbbbtttthhhh...!!"

Felicity was torn between feeling appalled that she'd just been spritzed by chick saliva, or hysterical for the same reason. Luckily for her, the moment that the slobber had launched itself in her general direction, Felicity had collapsed to the ground, swiping her paws up and above her head to protect herself from the offensive liquid.

As the attack ended, she leapt back up, blinking curiously at Jenna. "I think that you need a HUG!" Felicity cried out. Well... Of course. Wouldn't you assume that a deranged, slobbering cutey pie like Jenna just needed a hug to set things right?

Felicity trotted towards Jenna, taking just a few steps before contemplating her own safety. Could this infant be trusted?... Of course she could be. She was just a bit hyper was all! Cooing happily to herself, Felicity threw her head over Jenna's shoulder in an effort to pummel the other infant to the ground in a tackle-hug-wrestle sort of motion.

Asajj had never been to the Tree before. She couldn't recall it's name, but knew it was important. Many gryphs her age were brought to the Tree, but for what reason, she didn't know.

It was warmer here than her home, as most places are. She came to understand her home to be in the far north, and anything south was always warmer. She knew there was more land even further south than this, and the thought of that warmth made her happy inside. Now, at the foot of the Tree, she started upward into it's immense canopy. It blocked the sun, but somehow, grass grew at it's base. This was truly a special tree.

Jenna was talking now, though "talking" was more like jabbering. Endless jabbering. Malcom napped nearby should there be any trouble, but there had yet to be anything remotely dangerous so he gambled with a nap while Jenna was left to her own devices.

Today, she was trying to figure out what would talk back. Stones, grass, dandelions... she was trying everything because you never knew.

"Nah nah, bbbbpppttt!" she taunted a little grasshopper, hopping in circles around it. It stared back at her in passive nonchalance as it cleaned its back legs.

There were so many gryphs here, many of which Asajj recognised by smell, but few she had seen before. One of the den mothers was regailing them with the story of the Tree, but she wasn't paying attention, and instead was drawn to the sputtering of another gryph nearby.

She was young, a bit younger than Asajj, but not by much. Her fur was pale, but held many colors to it, and she was amazed that she had never met the gryph before. She slowly, cautiously creeped over. Unsure if she should approach as the gryph started yelling something to the ground; Asajj couldn't see the grasshopper from this distance.

Unsure, she called over, now nearly upon the other gryph. "Hhhhh-Iiii?"

Jenna squealed and turned to face Asajj. "HU-LLO! Hoolo, hoolo hallo lo lo..." She ran in circles around Asajj, looking her over and over and overjoyed by company her age. She'd spent so much time with Malcom that she rarely got to play with anyone else.

"'M Jenna!" she said finally, breathing heavily from so much hyperactivity. "'s yer name!?"

That was probably the most coherant she had been all day.

She was quite the odd one. Something must have energised her for the day, though she did'nt know what. Asajj had never had such energy, or atleast not so much that she couldn't contain it like this gryph. "Naym.. Asajj!"

She nudged Jenna's shoulder quickly during one of her passes by. "Jenn-na!" Asajj giggled as she took in the new name. Every new word delighted her, though she knew she'd have little vocabulary to learn from this one.

Jenna giggled as she was nudged, she stopped as she panted to stick her nose onto the side of Asajj's face. For some reason, she smelled familiar, but she wasn't sure how. With excitement, she flexed her wings and flapped about.

"I'm fly, I'm fly!" she laughed, though there was no way she could get off the ground with such small wings and a round, well fed belly. She romped in the tall grass and noticed another grasshopper.

Without another word, she caught it in her mouth. "Nnnnahm!!"

Ew. This one was quite the strange one indeed. "Not eat.. Grazz..ip." She paused, unable to say the word, but began anew, mouth contorting into odd shapes attempting the word. She became self absorbed, and no longer cared if the insect was eaten. She wanted to say grasshopper, and nothing would stop her.

"Grazz-uppu? Grazzawpu." She pouted.

Jenna hadn't swallowed, it she had her mouth clamped shut and puzzled as the grasshopper leapt about in her mouth. It finally tickled too much for her to hold on and she spat it back out.

"Pleeeegh..!" she drooled all over her chin as the grasshopper flew out. "Glasshopa!"

"Okie dokie?" That was one of hre favorite words so far. It sounded funny and she cherished every chance she go to use it.

"Awright, awright, party's over," Malcom said, taking Jenna's head and wiping the drool off her chin. "What have you eaten this time?"

"Glasshopa go way!" she explained. "Asajj!!"

"Asajj, huh? That's a new one," he mused, plucking grass out from her hair. He hadn't noticed Asajj was there yet.

"Not eat grazzawppu!" Asajj had once again lost her patience with a bigger being and she snapped to defend Jenna, even if she was a little weird..

She made her way over and stood next to Jenn, symbolising their unity, or something like that. Asajj didn't know, it just felt right. "Grazzawppu gone..." She motioned to Jenna's mouth, then looked mack to the biger gryph, shaking her haed as she spoke once more, her face serious as though she was explaining something dire to a child. "Not eat."

Malcom regarded her calmly. "Relax, smidge, I believe you," Malcom said. "Jenna eats odd things all the time, but I get the feeling you know better."

He smiled at them.

Jenna laughed and scrabbled on top of Malcom's back as he lay himself down near them. "Mac-om..." she cooed, burying her face into his silken, long mane.

"Yeah, yeah," Malcom rolled his eyes. "You're only lovey-dovey when you want something. What is it this time, squirt? Aren't you even gonna show me your friend here?"

"Asajj!" Jenna's shouts were muffled as her face was still in Malcom's fur.

"Oooooh, so you weren't just jibbering something new you made up... like you always do... every day...." Malcom rambled. "Hello, Asajj. Where's your denmother?"

Jenna was learning to count. Well, that was the theory. Malcom taught her about toes and that they could be used to count things with. So that evening she was left to her own devices, studying the vast mysteries of the cosmos with pebbles and toes.

"Ooooonnnn... thooooo......" she said, counting pebbles from a stack of them.

This counting was intense stuff. Two was a really difficult concept. And this three business seemed unfathomable. If smoke could arise from the ears of a little hippogryph, it was going to very soon - and probably smell of carmelised sugar.

"As blissful as your silence is, you can't just go on not speaking to me, Zim." Tak growled as they strode into the clearing, Zim slightly ahead of her.

"Hmf." was the smaller green gryph's reply to her statement. Lowly pig, he wouldn't give her the satisfaction of being personally addressed by the great Zim ever again.

"It isn't MY fault your little puppet took off with Denis, all right??" she growled.

"IT IS!!" he snapped suddenly, whirling to point at her accusingly. "IT IS AND YOU KNOW IT!!" .....whoops, so much for the silent treatment. Well....well, he was sure he'd gotten his point across anyway...

Persephone stumbles upon Jenna, blinking as she sees the other young girl seeming to be focused on a tower of pebbles. She tilts her head as she walks forward, tail wagging back and forth behind her.

Without thinking she simply speaks up, "Whatcha doing?"

And behind the two is Gir, singing and dancing as he bounds through the fields.

"Tra-la-la-la!" he shouts, tongue hanging out of his mouth.

Black ears twitching as he then takes a leap forward to land on top of Zim's head.

"Let's ride!" he screams before falling forward onto the ground, giggling to himself.

He rolls onto his stomach and is up to his feet again, taking off ahead of them.

Jenna looked up at Persephone with her mouth hanging open and breathing out through it instead of her nose. That was probably on account of massive overheating within her gummi bear brain. Caramel was probably on her breath, as well.

"Counen..." she said, never blinking and staring so fixedly at Persephone that she was almost going cross-eyed.

Zim gave a grunt as Gir trampled his head momentarily before shaking off the green gryph's attack and loping after him. Why was it that the only people he could invest any amount of trust in were morons? "GIR!!" he barked, trying to get the smaller gryph's attention. "I need to talk to--hey! HEY!!"

Tak watched them go with narrowed eyes. Perhaps it was something within all males to behave like fools. How fortunate that the remaining two gryphs in the vicinity appeared to be female. Turning abruptly from the trainwreck that was Zim and Gir, she puffed out her little chest and approached Jenna and Persephone, calmly and with purpose. Her methods of conversation were gentler....certainly a counterpoint to Zim's sorry attempts at intimidation and bombast.

Persephone picks up the strange scent coming from the girl's mouth. She blinks, sniffing and then smiling.

"Ooh, what's that smell! What did you eat!" She wanted some of whatever it is even though her parents had probably told her to never eat it before and she's simply forgotten.

Then she tilts her head. "What is 'Counen?'"

By this point she has sat down and also turned her head to notice an approaching older filly. Her ears perk up, blinking those blue eyes as she watches.

"Hi!"

Gir does not give any indication of stopping, whooping and giggling with the fluttering of wings behind him as he flaps them, and they're also accompanied by the desperately following Piggy.

It won't be for a few minutes before Gir turns around and runs back to Zim, fully force, and leaps at him. If he hits him, he tries to pin him down and proceeds to hug.

"YEEEEEEEES?"

"Buggiesss..." Jenna said, though that was off-tangent. She promptly lay on her back and lifted all four feet in the air, pointed them at Persephone and exclaimed...

"COUNEN!" she wiggled her toes with enthusiasm. "Onnnnn.... thooooo...."

She was stuck again. DAMN! What was the one that came after two?

"Uhhhh...." she lagged. The RAM on a gryph with an attention deficit was horrendous, imagine if you would Doom3 trying to run on an Apple iie. She stuck her toes at Persephone's face, prompting for help.

Zim glared disdainfully at the green ball of pudge perched on his chest and latching onto his ribs. "Get OFF of me!" he demanded, pounding one tiny defiant fist on Gir before shoving at him.

Something tickled at his nose, making him sneeze as he glared down at the offending artifact. An obnoxiously-colored feather rested around the wall-eyed gryph's neck proudly, as though it belonged there. "And WHAT is that??" he demanded. "It looks stupid."

"Hello." Tak smiled, careful not to make it too wide. She appreciated being noticed without having to announce her presense. It was a good show of respect. "And how are you..." she trailed off a moment, eyeing the little sparkly infant shoving her toes in the other's face uncertainly. "...ladies doing today?"

A female version of Gir...hurrah. Just what this blasted world needed.

This ivy colored female looks confused at Jenna's answer. Her ears flag down against her head, staring, wondering what bug would actually taste so sweet.

"But... what is counen?" she murmurs again sounding vaguely defeated and confused. She recoils her head when those paws stick out at her and she quickly changes her attention to Tak, "Um. I'm fine. Thank you." Her parents had taught her to always be polite! "How are you?"

He only hugs tighter even as Zim pounds at his chest. When the older Hippogryph notices his rainbow feather, Gir sits up, but he does not move off of Zim.

He grabs hold of the feather hanging from a thin piece of leather around his neck and gives it a shake.

"Why this is mah feather! A big ol' bird gave it to me!"

"Thweeeeee....!!!" Jenna said with revelation! She bicycle kicked with all four legs and squealed in very high pitched laughter before getting up and bolting in a wide circle around the other two girls. "Onnn, thooo, thwee!! Thwee thwee thwee!! Eeeeeeeeee...!!"

Oh, rapture! Jenna could count! Jenna was SMART! Jenna- .. Fell down headfirst into a badger's hole and laughed into it. Fortunately, her fat belly kept her from slipping in, but all that could be seen in the tall grass was the rear end of a little gryph and the ground beneath hummed as though her very aura of sugar induced jubilation made the whole world go "HOT DAYUM!"

After a while, realising no one was going to pull her out. She started singing (aka. making stuff up just to hear the echo).

Jenna was flapping her wings. What for? Well, it certainly wasn't flying but if all the seed puffs floating around the whole of the meadow were to be believed, she was having a blast making whole patches of dandelions go "poof!" She squealed with laughter.

Orpheus rested his head against the soft grass under a shady tree... it was either the definition of "lazy" or "melancholy". As he rested his head calmly, humming to himself, something foreign and very unexpected flew up his nose. He rose his head, startled, which was quickly followed by a very strong "ACHOO!" Sniffling to himself, he held his breath with a gasp as he saw more of the same small, white puffs floating by him.

Standing up, he peered around to see another Gryph was the source of the sneezey cloud. Holding his breath still, he slowly walked over to her, his head hanging low. "Wut ahr youu doiing?" he said very quickly, and very nasaly as his nose became more stuffy.

"Playin'!" Jenna said, flapping and hopping up and down. "All these little seeds gots POOFS on 'em! Poof poof poof POOF...!"

She started spinning around and flapping her wings, she'd made a little crop circle of her own in the tall meadow grass. Realizing this, she stopped and stared at it.

"Ooooooo...!!"

The bottoms of her feet were grass stained, she looked at their color.

"BLUE!!"

She had yet to properly learn her colors.

Orpheus sniffled deeply, making sure to keep a paw against his nose for protection. "Dey don't bahther youu?" he said sourly and rather stuffley. The last thing he wanted was a sniffley nose- it made his voice sound all funny and weird.

Peering at the bottoms off Jenna's feet, he tilted his head. "Dat's bloo- like thuh sky."

Jenna moved over one yard and started crushing grass in another circle.

"Grass don't bother me!" she said. "But sky's green, right!? Maybe purple!??"

She lost track of all the colors Malcom told her about, maybe if she kept spitting out every one she could think so she'd figure it out.

"How 'bout.... Pink!"

Once again Gwen found herself traversing this land. A pleasent peaceful place. Perhaps she would find someone here to talk with, or not. Though she didn't have her wings yet, she still had her way of flying. With that thought she took off running, planning to enjoy this day.

"Say 'Maaaaal-com'..." Jenna tried another name. Maybe "Jenna" was too difficult for him. She hadn't noticed anyone else was nearby yet, but strangely enough Aren did.

Aren somehow managed to hear and smell someone running towards them, though he was still a chick and his eyesight was still somewhat poor. He raised his head and did his best to keep it steady. Aren burbled and watched on.

She enjoyed running. It was the closest to flying she could do for now. Plus the exercise felt good. It maybe the body feel better; musceles stronger, mind quicker, senses sharper... Was that another of that strange species she'd met before? smeeled like it. and there she could see it. As she came closer she slowed down to stop a little ways away.

Aren continued to sniff the air and watch, though Jenna was clueless to it for a while. Trying over and over to get Aren's attention again, she turned and looked up.

"Oooooh, so THAT's whatcher lookin' at!" she laughed. "What is it?"

Jenna cocked her head and sat down, looking puzzled at Gwen. She tried to talk to her.

"HEEEY!!!" she called out.

Well she seemed okay. Gwen thought for a moment, then decided to give a greeting. Maybe, like her summoner, this one would know enough drogon languages to kinda understand. in the common behemoth language Gwen says "Hello." Following right after she bobs her head.

Jenna stared. It -must've- said something back, but she wasn't sure exactly what. She pawed in the air at it.

"C'mere! C'mere!" she attempted. "Wanna play with me an' Aren!?"

Aren looked at Gwen with wonder. Whatever it was, it smelled unlike anything he had ever smelled before. Already he knew natural smells like grass, earth, treebark, even the stone of the mountains. But this one smelled different. He cooed at Gwen.

As expected, the older one could not understand, nor could she understand her, but the youngster was a different story. Interest and curiousity, like any other child would have. The question became how to act.

First was to show she didn't understand the older. Gwen tilted her head while looking at Jenna. She didn't need to fake the confusion. Next she looked at Aren and burbled a little. Gwen likes interacting with babies and children, as the older seemed to also.

Jenna laughed. "You like him, too? Come an' play! Aren doesn't got many friends but me an' Malcom!"

Aren chirruped and giggled, smiling so hard his eyes went to slits. He liked this one, no matter how different it smelled. For some reason, he wasn't afraid or nervous of Gwen. He wobbled and pawed the ground playfully.

"He likes you!" Jenna nodded.

She didn't need to understand the words to get the message. So, she would be having some fun today.

She bent down, took sevral tiny steps closer to the youngster then snorted. That should be enought to the the encouragable little fluff ball going.

Jenna circled Gwen, watching while she played with Aren. "What are ya, anyway? You don't gots a face like us an' you don't gots wings..."

Aren looked up and sniffed at Gwen, his little nostrils twitching. He pawed at her face with playful invitation. Was this a flockmate? He'd never seen it around before.

"Aaaaahnnggghh..." he said.

She covered her face with her forepaws like she was hiding, then peeked from behind them before hinding again. She waits for a good moment to make a gentle play swipe at Aren.

It had been a little while since he'd seen or talked to Gwen, so the half-elf thought back to where he had last heard she might be going. Then he remembered that he himself had told her she might see some of the other behemoths at some place he'd heard of. That explained it. So, off he went. In his ussual manner of long disstance travel by magic. (He will arrive in a couple posts.)

Aren laughed and tried to swipe back, though he was wobbly and somewhat delayed. He chirruped and waiting for another round of peek-a-boo. He tried to get up on his feet and playfully charge, but rolled. Aren paused and laughed as he fell back down.

"He can't run yet," Jenna tried to explain. "I think 'cause he's too heavy an' his legs are itty bitty."

So he couldn't move around much, yet. That would be a matter of time. So now she would play the curious one. She looked at him turning her head this way and that. A pause before moving to add character, then she came over and started sniffing and nudging him, rolling around with her nose. Sometimes she would snort to try to make him laugh and giggle more.

He had appeared a way off like he planned, so as not to startle someone with his sudden materialization. Now where is she? He sat and opened his elven magic to the plants. They would know if something had been through here, and about since they had been stepped on.

Jenna gave up trying to figure out what Gwen was, it was obvious she was friendly and it was someone new to play with. She squealed and started galloping around them in circles, giving her wings some practice flaps and stretches.

She started singing a song Malcom taught her. "Toadstools inna ciiir-cle, daisies in tha miidddlle, petals! petals! Flowers in tha breeze!"

Aren was delighted. He pawed gently at her nose and tried to wash her muzzle, sometimes leaving his tongue hanging out and giggling.
