Fantastic band. They absolutely ******** slay live.
I caught them on tour with Stratovarius and their opening was epic. The lights dimmed, and a low-blue glow surrounded the icy looking backdrops. The sound of howling winds drifted over the PA and a dry ice haze fogged the stage.
Suddenly, from a machine mounted above the stage, stage snow poured upon the audience, taking the act deep within a blizzard.
The band walked out and the struck straight into Blood Bound, with a tight heavy metal vigour.
Fantastic show, and definately the best show I saw that year. Blew Stratovarius off the stage, and that's not easy to do.
The encore was solid heavy metal, also, with Oscar walking out first as the bass backing to Templars of Steel struck up. He strode across the stage, unblinking, slammed one foot onto a monitor, leant out over the crowd and made the templar sign to us all. It was one of the most metal things I've ever seen.

I've never had the privilege of seeing them live, but then again, it's Goddamn Europe again, always hogging all the GOOD concerts xp
I'd like to get Crimson Thunder and Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken first.

Renegade is a great album. I've got all their albums. ninja I haven't seen them live though, seeing as I live in the U.S. crying

It's not that bad, I do get some decent concerts, but I still live IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWARE, literally. I have to travel almost 3 hours for a good concert. One of the best I saw was when I visiting a friend in New York and we saw Amon Amarth with Vader.
I heart Amon Amarth almost as much as IE.

Hammerfall were the first ever power metal band I heard, and I remembered thinking, "I bet they all have really big grins when they play this!"

ravenflame Hammerfall were the first ever power metal band I heard, and I remembered thinking, "I bet they all have really big grins when they play this!" Oh those young days. sweatdrop Hammerfall were one of the first Power Metal bands I heard also, about 5/6 years ago.

Man, HammerFall ******** owns your face. At my school's power metal clique, (Yes, we've actually got a group of around 20 power metal fans in one place) it's always Hammerfall vs. Manowar. I root for Hammerfall, perosnally. I've got 2 Hammerfall back patches. =D

At my school's power metal clique, (Yes, we've actually got a group of around 20 power metal fans in one place) it's always Hammerfall vs. Manowar. I root for Hammerfall, perosnally. I've got 2 Hammerfall back patches. =D I don't really know how you can do Hammerfall vs. Manowar. Both bands are pretty much the top of their game and what they do. Still, if I had to see one over the other, it'd be Manowar (cause I've already seen Hammerfall)

I'd go for Hammerfall, I love there songs and talent, Renegade,Crimson Thunder,Blood bound and Hero return, are all kick a** songs by them.
