They pegged me as a Roman Catholic? I'm an Episcopalian, which, I suppose is the next best thing. smile

unless you're strictly traditional, cathoilicism can include every tint of the rainbow.

there are social activists, mystics, canon lawyers, family-firsters and communitarians.

i count some benedictine sisters in Erie Pa as good friends, and they are fairly radical.

Is the Benedictine order liberal?

You are Emergent/Postmodern in your theology. You feel alienated from older forms of church, you don't think they connect to modern culture very well. No one knows the whole truth about God, and we have much to learn from each other, and so learning takes place in dialogue. Evangelism should take place in relationships rather than through crusades and altar-calls. People are interested in spirituality and want to ask questions, so the church should help them to do this.

That actually does sound quite a bit like my veiwpoint. Is this something I can say when people pester me about my denomination? They don't seem to like hearing that I don't have one.

I would imagine so. wink

You are an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition. You believe that God's grace enables you to choose to believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit gives you assurance of your salvation, and he also enables you to live the life of obedience to which God has called us. You are influenced heavly by John Wesley and the Methodists.

Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan 82% (<--- not surprising)
Fundamentalist 79%
Emergent/Postmodern 64%
Charismatic/Pentecostal 57%
Classical Liberal 54%
Reformed Evangelical 54%
Neo orthodox 46%
Modern Liberal 43%
Roman Catholic 18% (<-- not at all surprising really)

Since I am a Methodist this doesn't surprise me at all.

I am not surprised at all... I am a liberal first, and Methodist second. It also does not surprise me that my three lowest were Catholic, evangelical, and fundamentalist. (Frankly, I'm surprised that my score for fundamentalism was so high. razz )

Good quiz!

How do I get a description of the others? Because apparently I'm all over the board. Equally emergent/postmodern and evangelical holiness/Wesleyan. Equally RC and Classic Liberal. With Neo orthodox filling the gap. Even the charismatic and fundamentalist were higher than I expected. Oh no, nowhere to belong. crying

well, flautist, above you, has emergent/postmodern defined, which was your other high score.

other than that, i'm sorry i can't help.

maybe we need people to get deliberately slanted results so that we can see those other definitions?
