Initial impressions and assignment - May the 4th, 1889

The beast, which I have dubbed "Ares" after the Greek god of war, is a rather large and healthy example of the spotted cats -- a male, roughly three years old. It is a very finely-built predator, and like most cats, possesses a clever intellect that will no doubt be taken advantage of as I begin work on its brain. Ares is, like most top predators kept in captivity I suppose, very aggressive. Even moreso than the dog that cowers in its cage at me, Ares has a fighting spirit and has reached out to swipe at me several times when I uncovered its cage.

No doubt this young man will enjoy taking care of his new charge... it will certainly give him plenty to think about and work with.

OOC Tranlsation
I knew this one would be trouble the moment he stepped off of the boat. I honestly do not care much for the French, they are all a bunch of stuck up, sneering poufs. This one is no different. Already he was terrified of physical labor, and threw a tantrum when I asked the new arrivals for help unloading the boats. He seemed to look for every excuse possible to get out of doing work. I will have fun pressing on him and spurring the man into action, and even give him a little challenge by handing him a rather ill-tempered beast. I have the perfect animal in mind.
