When people mention the topic of vegetarianism or animal cruelty, do you preach what you know, or do you change the subject?
Personally, I mention some of the things I believe in that I know is true and wait for them to ask me questions. If they ask me questions, then I will really get into it. But usually when they talk about those things, I want to change the subject because they are usually making crude jokes about it.

I dont preach unless it is specific, if they are being crude I give them the basic facts and so on. Most people hate preeching >>

If you have no tolerance for stupidity of people, people will begin to hate you, no matter how true your intentions are. That's why I don't preach unless they're being real jerks.

Preach it! Everyone should know what's going on! If they don't like it, they shouldn't have brought it up. I'll shove stuff in their faces. If they ask, they're getting a full blast of information! Plus, I'm never alone. My Vegan friend is an AWESOME debater. We can't lose. cool
And then I have a whole bunch of vegetarian friends, but they're kind of violent about it. eek

i mostly try to change the subject. but if my they're being mean and like making fun of veg*ns or think torturing animals is kool, i'll make sure i set them striaght. but like if they were talknig about fishing i try just 2 change the subject.

I usually keep my trap shut unless they ask a specific question, or they just ask for 'Help on becoming vegetarian/vegan'. The reason is I am too emotionally tied to it and I don't want to chase people away with my tendancy to evangelise. sweatdrop It seems to run in the family, because my Dad does the same thing except on different subjects.

When I'm asked... I just tell people the basics.... You can't hit people upside the head with it all the time. You just have to lead by example and show them why you live the way you do... and then Almost all the time 8/10 people will open up to what you have to say. Then hopefully change their minds about us Veggies and our lifestyle.
