((OOC: -eyes at the title and hides- Er... well... I couldn't think of anything else! XD;;; ))
It was a crisp, cool morning, and whispy, white clouds were scattered feather-like across the pale blue horizon. There was a slight breeze; one that blew gently through the park, brushing light fingers against the leaves of the trees and rustling them together. The grass was lush and green, and little droplets of dew still clung to them from the previous night's frost. Here and there, clusters of brightly-coloured yet delicate-seeming flowers bloomed, petals turned upwards toward the sun.
There were not too many people in the park that morning, but there was an unusual duo making their way along the lightly coloured gravel path that ran through one section of the park.
Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.
"Kei makes too much noise," a creature that resembled a winged onion, of all things, complained to the girl whose shoulder it was riding upon. "Zoo-ree think Kei should be quiet."
"I'm walking as quietly as I can!" the girl, Keilyna, protested. "You're just lucky, able to fly without making a sound... why don't you grow legs and try walking yourself?"
The winged onion was indignant.
"Zoo-ree not want legs!" it chittered at its guardian. "Legs funny. Wings better!"
Crunch-crunch-crunch-crunch-crunch-crunch-crunch!
A jogger passed by the duo, feet crunching on the gravel much louder than Keilyna's ever had. He stared at the girl as he passed her, for she appeared to be talking to herself, and seemed to be quite crazy. Once the jogger had disappeared around a clump of trees, Kei protested, "See, Zuri? I'm really walking quite quietly compared to everyone else in this park, you know! If I walked on the grass, I'm sure it would be much quieter, but I might start squishing plants by accident if I did."
"Kei should walk faster. Zoo-ree bored."
"But if I walk faster, I'll make more noise!"
Zuri hmmphed in frustration.
"Kei can do whatever, then. Zoo-ree go EXPLORING!"
With that, the puff launched itself off Kei's shoulder and zoomed off and away down the path.
"Zuri, wait for meeeeeee!" Kei cried, rushing after her Wethkin.
As she ran after her puff, her feet crunched madly away on the gravel.
CRUNCH-CRUNCH-CRUNCH-CRUNCH-CRUNCH!!!
