Not to be rude, but the book of Revelation realy is not to hard to understand. The name "Revelation" means "lighten, manifestation, be revealed."

rockmanx Not to be rude, but the book of Revelation realy is not to hard to understand. The name "Revelation" means "lighten, manifestation, be revealed." So do you want to do it? I make it into a seperate thread so people won't get confused. I can understand some but for others may have a different perspective and may not believe it. It is still risky if someone said something wrong. Some may have different oppinions about it and read it in different levels. So it's better if they learn it from a teacher they trust and learn it at their own pace. I just don't want them to assume something y' know.

The biggest problem I see with Revaltion that stumps most people is the large use of symbols and the fact that what is happing in one chapter is happening the same time as another event in another chapater. Most people run into problem when they don't stop and think what the symbols mean.

Many won't even get the most the things about the 7 horsemens unless they see it in context first. Some are straight foward but some just like arguing minor details and make it into a big issue. Although Rapture is not in the Bible, it is definitetly going to happen before the great tribulation. We are in tribulation now but not the one where the mark is revealed. My Uncle told me this, he knows this because he is a pastor and God told this. I'm not making it up. How do we know we are going to be raptured? When the Holy Spirit reveals the truth to you and when you abide with Jesus. The Revelation is only focuses in Jesus so really we don't have to worry about Antichrist and so on but be aware.

One is 3 and a half hears and the other one is another 3 and a half years. I kinda broke my own rule. We're meant to talk about revelation in the other thread but oh well. We do have some tribulation happening now but not the one the Revelation is talking about because of the persecutions of Christians. I know what you mean. I know false prophets can speak the words about 'thirst' once on TV. I thought it was a christian program cos it was about that time the sermons starts. I was almost convinced that it is talking about Christianity until that there is a point that he only focuses on himself and peace. There was no acknowledgment of Jesus whatsoever. I've been appraoched by Jehovah's witness twice. Once I thought it was in the train station in the city, he spoke to me about the end times but with a completely different answer. Another, was when they actually came over to our house. Before reading the Bible, we didnt know it was wrong to invite them in for a dicussion. However by reading 2 John, we told that man we are not interested in discussions anymore.

The 2 three and a half years is part of the same tributaltion a talked about in Daniel that was shorten down Matthew 24:24 to 5 to six months (signs of locus given in both Daniel and Revaltion). Thr first tribulation is when the anti-christ (anti meaning "instead of" in the greek) comes on his white horse, Revelation 6:2. The second tribulation is when Christ return and all those chirst realise that they served the anti-christ and want rock to fall on them,Revelation 6:15-17. Some would even go to Jesus claiming to serve Him but he will turn them away. Matthew 7:21-23. Only those with the seal of God will not be decieve by the anti-christ which is Satan.
If you every come across some one claiming to be a chirstian and is not teaching the gospel of Jesus, here is some scripture about that.
2 John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11. For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Pope also means the 'anti of Christ' in Latin. I read it from this book by Dave Hunt called 'The Woman who Rides the Beast'. Not saying that he is the anti christ but it is part of the system. It links to Daniel when he referred to the fall and rise of the Roman Empire. Not sure where it's written all I know is he was interpreting Nebuchadnezzar's dream. However there is a linkage in it, I should read my Bible more. Some people say it is the Euro currency now that the antichrist is using to establish the mark of the beast. I'm not sure what to believe but it makes sense in a way.

It was my understanding that the word pope means father. All though people claim that the Anti-chirst is a satan born into a flesh body, but they is no scripture that supports that idea. I do expect most of the events will happen around Irsael.
As for Daniel, I don't know about the Roman Empire in the book, but I heared during a study that there is a part that talked about the fall of the USSR.
