Home is supposed to be a sanctuary. Every time I walk into my house, I pray that my stepdad isn't around. He has the uncanny ability of doing what's wrong and only what's wrong. Whenever he says something, does something, I tear him apart. I can't help it. He just starts talking and it pushes me to the point where I have to yell. It's horrible for me, and it sure as hell isn't good for him. It's worse for my mom. Sometimes I wish I could just throw him out, since he clearly doesn't love her. He's in my house so he doesn't have to live with his mother. The worst thing about him is that he doesn't ever listen and he always finds a way to start an argument. I'd love to have the balls to hide a knife in my sleeve, so that if he ever starts something I won't fee like I have to say anything at all. And I generally try to avoid violence at all costs.

yeah. sometimes you have to just suck up pride. when someone's like that i actually feel sorry for them. usually they're not happy people so they try to make other's lives mizerabe to compensate. do you have your own room? i have made my room my sanctuary. i go there to get away. maybe you could try that..

I have my own room, but my apartment is so small and the walls are so thin that I constantly feel connected to everyone.

that really sucks. do they get mad at you if you have your music on too loud? cause if they don't, i'd just go in there and crank it up!

The joys of head phones. cool yeah......totally...don't let you home life and family bug you to much ok cuz I know how u feel.....never being able to be alone always be ridiculed and surrounded by them....it is that way at my house I get down talked and when I stand up for my self from my dad he calls me a spoild rotten b***h and grounds me or yells at me for ten min straight...yeah it sucks but your familly is usually the only people that you can really count on...so I learn to deal with it and rebel in my own (uncaught ways)!

I can trust my mom. My stepdad...At least he's not really part of my family. He thinks he's so high and mighty, but really he just doesn't know that he's a pompous fool (watch as I remain civilized! Ooh!) He takes macho to a different level- dehumanizing people in this disgustingly passive fashion that makes everyone (no matter how well-mannered) want to kick him in the nuts.
Today, he almost broke our dinner table because he wasn't listening to me or my mom. You'll tell him not to do something, and he'll try to make you forget about what you're saying by changing the topic. "Irving, don't lean on the table. It's going to break." "There was a special on TV last night about manners..."
