Interested in increasing his powers, Kamui sets out towards a valley in order to train. His amulet is out and gathering light as he continues through the area. He can feel the light tingling at the tip of his fingers and he's anxious to exercise his abilities. As he walks he doodles in the air creating simple faded shapes out of light rays.
Hoping to encounter opposition soon, he conserves his energy and cautions himself.

Out of no where, a man dressed completely in black jumps from the rocks above. As he falls, he throws shurikens towards Kamui. He then draws out a large knife and positions it in front of him. He then spirals right at Kamui.

Having once again wandered away from home in search of some form of entertainment, Chiaki found herself wandering about aimlessly near a valley. She figured it would be a good place to train for a little while, so she headed on over. On her way, she saw another person, who also appeared to be going toward the valley, walking up ahead of her, though he didn't look very familar to her, but she thought she had seen him around before. Chiaki thought it would be nice to meet some new - maybe they could go train together.
Another person suddenly appeared. Chiaki was pretty sure she had never seen him before, and he seemed to be attacking... She stopped and watched as this new comer threw shuriken and then drew a large knife. Chiaki slipped away behind a tree, pulling out her own shuriken, and preparing to attack...

Nervous, Chiaki quietly looked on at the two, from her hiding place behind the big tree, shuriken in hand. She wondered who the man in black was... Maybe he had something to do with the disappearances in the villages? Maybe he was one of the Akatsuki like that woman she had heard about. If he was, then she would be in a lot of trouble if she was discovered. Chiaki was only a Genin, and she had only just passed the exam, there was no way she could take on someone like the man in black.
She realized now running off without telling her father where she was going and coming out here to this valley had been a mistake. Hiding behind this tree had been an even bigger mistake. She had to do something fast.
Maybe it wasn't too late for her to creep away and find help in the village...
Her bird, Gato, suddenly swooped down out of the tree, squawking loudly, and landed on the ground in front of her. Chiaki looked down at Gato with a shocked expression on her face; he knew better than that, and he had just given away her position.
He was squawking at a rather large black bird, a raven that had wandered over to the tree and Chiaki. The raven responded to Gato by also squawking loudly. Chiaki had never actually seen two birds... Argue... It was interesting to look at, but she really wished they would stop. She couldn't tell them to stop; it would just add to the noise and it probably wouldn't make them stop anyway.
Chiaki prayed that the man in black wouldn't decided to come over and investigate the loud birds... If he did, she might be the next person to disappear.

He stopped spinning and did a front flip as he landed. He heard some birds. He then raced to the spot he heard them. He drew out some shurikens as he ran.

Along with the sound of the two birds fighting, Chiaki could hear foot steps coming her way. That was just her luck, she ends up near the one bad guy who will drop everything to go check out some noisy birds. Great.
This was more than a mistake. This was a catastrophe...
"You stupid bird..." Chiaki muttered angrily as she grabbed Gato and pulled him away from the raven. She wasn't so concerned about making noise now since the guy was coming over anyway. Once the man was close to her loaction, the raven just took off and flew away.
Chiaki threw her shuriken toward the man.

He did a flip jump over the shurikens, except one hit his foot. As he landed, he pulled it from his heel. He started throwing his shurikens at her. He then jumped on to the ridge next to him.

Chiaki jumped out of the way and ended up behind another tree, the shuriken barely missing her. She let Gato go once they were out of the line of fire, and he took off into the air. Chiaki grabbed her kunai knives and peeked out from behind the tree, but the man wasn't in site anymore.
She stepped out into the open - hiding was useless - and looked around quickly. She was scared now, and found that she couldn't remember anything she had learned in the academy...
Chiaki spotted the man in black and threw her kunai his way.

He ran along the wall, leaving the kunai to hit right behind him. He started to throw shurikens at her while going along the wall. Once at the end of the wall, he lept up into the air. He positioned his knife in front of him and spun fast as he fell right at her.

Chiaki watched as the man ran along the wall, and as each of her kunai just missed him. She quickly jumped out of the way of the wave of shuriken he sent her way, and pulled out a few more of her own. She threw them up in the air at him as he fell toward her.
Chiaki jumped back so that he wouldn't come down on her and pulled out her wakizashi. Looked like she was going to have to fight him...

He spun even quicker and made some hand signs. He spun so fast that it caused a whirlwind to appear around him. It sent the shurikens to veer off course. He pulled up slightly so that he was still on target.

Chiaki moved away when she saw him create the whirlwind. Her shuriken were blown off course, and she sighed. He was still headed right for her, so she jumped to the left and out of his way. She didn't know how she was going to fight him... She just hoped that if she died here it would be quick.

He landed quite hard, making a huge indentation and a sending a shockwave from the impact. He grunted as he pulled his knife from the ground. Blood squirted from his heel as he stepped out of the hole. He held his knife in a fighting stance and charged.

Chiaki was thrown off balance due to the shockwave the man's impact created and she fell. She heard him step out of the hole and charge in her direction. Chiaki sat up quickly and saw that he was really close to her, knife in hand, ready to strike her. She took a handfull of the gravel on the ground besie her and tossed it into his face before getting out of the way and narrowly avoiding the attack.

He fell back from the gravel. He took his hand up and wiped it from his eyes. Then he reached into his jacket and brought out a small dagger. He slashed at her with his knife.
