I know what you are thinking, "crazy girl got the worng forum AGAIN!" but, no. I want to know how old is the "new" AFI fan base? and how many people are around from before? This poll is magical it will know if you lie about your age.
(just answer truthfully who cares?)

Yes damnit, my dad's friends son (who was older than me) had the Very Proud Of Ya cd and he let me listen to it, I may of not known what they were saying but I still liked it. .....um, the human brain does not develop untill the age of 6. If you said you had been an AFI fan since you were 10 or maybe 8 I might believe you. Childern first develop strong likes and dislikes at the age 7. Also at the age of 5 you are tring not to be treated like a child any more, so you look up to any older person around you, like an older cousin or friend, and you copy what ever they are doing. This stage in the brain development is about experience, so when you see some one older doing some thing like; reading, sewing, vacuming, running,etc.. Anything you were previously excluted from; you now want to do it. Like listening to music, you see this older friend listening to music your brain is thinking, ' I don't want to be treated like a child anymore what to older kids do; listen to music.' For example I have liked teenage mutant ninja turtles since I was 5. I was influenced by my cousin, who is 6 years older then me. He liked it and I look-up to him so I liked it. As I got older and my brain developed, I remembered this. When I was 10 my mother bought me the tapes and I developed an opinion about it. I like the purple one better then the blue. here are some articles on human brain development: Brain development in a 5 year oldthe secret life of the brainjust though you might want to know a little bit more about your brain.....

So, does this mean that I have just gotten attached to their music and don't realy like the band AFI? <-- Because I keep hearing that they "tryed something new" with Sing The Sorrow and yet, I like that CD a lot and if they did try something new with STS wouldn't I not like that CD?

No, did you read what I wrote? You like AFI because before your brain developed personal opinions you took opinions from others. At the young age of 5 you look up to old kids and try to copy what they do. The older kid you looked up to like AFI so you like AFI, at the time it made you feel older and more independant. it's not the music that you were attracted to at the young age but the feeling of beeing older.
