It seems that, while the two where gone, Helios have recieved some short of visit... as proved by the other chick that was curled near him. Her pelt could remind of an aurora borealis, with it's intricate patterns. She seems to be enjoying herself, trying to make her way even closer to the sweet-smelling yellow chick for yet more conforting warmth.
Helios was sad about the nuzzling warmth leaving, but he found another warmth to replace it! He snuggled closer to the very pretty (though he couldn't see her) gryph, radiating cheerfulness and happiness and sweet smells! ^^
Aurora seemed equally happy... He smelled so nice ! She couldn't recall any of her brothers or sisters smelling like that... Her mind didn't debate this for too long, as she nuzzeled next to Helios, letting a few happy chirp-like noises at the other chick.
Not too far, an adult watched over the two with a careful eye, but did not see too worried about anything happening.
Helios yawned, stretching and rolling back over on his back. He liked the way the sun felt on his tummy. He leaned against Aurora a bit to keep his balance, though it was really unintentional. She just happened to be right next to him where he was leaning...
Aurora didn't seem to mind her status of leaning spot too much, but, as ususal, yawns are contagious, and the chick let one of her own, overall looking like a cute reddish ball standing out in the green grass. One of her tiny little ear moved just sightly, but remained closed, as well as her eyes.
Helios rolled back over, snuffling the warm spot next to him. She didn't really -smell- familiar. Well, sort of familiar. She didn't smell as different as the -previous- warm spot. He snuggled happily against her. Familiar was good too!
Aurora didn't seem to grow any tired of the other's sweet sent. This idea was as far from her little mind as it could be, chirping happilly as she stirred a bit, nuzzeling Helios's tummy in the process.
Helios chirped ticklishly as she nuzzled his belly, rolling over on his side and then back up and then back over on his side. This was fun!
Aurora chiped right back at him, visibely finding some fun in this little "game" they had probably just invented, as she turned to her side as well, before flopping back on her tummy with a series of little chirps that could almost be considered a giggle.
Helios whicker-chirped happily. This was lots of fun! And lots more entertaining than lying about doing nothing while the other chicks slept! He rolled over again, tickling at Aurora with his nose, and then rolled onto his back.
Aurora chiped once more as she felt Helios's nose, trying to playfully bat at it with a paw, but she missed her "target" completely, the paw instead falling right beside him. It didn't matter much to her - it was still funny ! And better than laying around all day doing nothing, at least.
Helios felt the paw whistle past him and reached for it with his paw, gently touching hers and then rolling over again. After a second roll, he snuggled over next to her, a little tired. This was a lot of work for such a little guy!
She felt his paw on her's, and she chiped happily as she faintly heard him turn around. When he stopped, she was right there, gentely nuzzeling his sides, as if inviting him to rest.
Helios sighed happily, snuggling against Aurora and slipping asleep for a few seconds. It was nice to have a cuddling buddy!
It was nice, indeed ! And would probabely be even nicer when their mothers would carry them back home... where it was always so cold, and here it was so warm... But that didn't matter, she did love home, and the familiarity that went with it.
Giving a low chirp, she curled a bit around him, content to just stay here, in the sun.
Helios snuggled closer, dozing. Then, abruptly, he woke up, and nuzzled against his friend again, rolling over on his back and waving his feet in the air a bit.
It was too bad that Aurora could see none of this - she probably would have found it pretty amusing. She could hear him move and feel him move, however, and she chirped a bit louder when figuring out that he was not asleep, as she had thought.

Unaware of the conversation the two older griff where having, a bundle of fluff was, as she usually was, sleeping peacefully. Aurora was curled up in a few longer patches of grass, her mother nearby.
And there was another not so far away, laying on his back comically as he, too, slept. The two chicks seemed, mostly, unaware of each other.
Helios was also blissfully unaware of the conversations the older gryphs were having, though he probably would've been greatly amused by them if he'd been able to hear them. He had caught a familiar scent, though, and he was following it, nose pressed to the ground like some sort of hound.
After a few short moments, he located Aurora, his first cuddling buddy outside of his flock! Gleefully, he lie down, snuggling against her. He peered about, taking note of the other chick. He wondered if that chick were as cuddly as Aurora...
...That scent ! It was familiar, somehow.. yes ! That other chick ! She suddently chirped very hapilly, perked as much as she was able, and snuggeled against him.
...Didn't he use to be smaller ?
Setzer originally ignored the two, but then the sent caught up to him. What was this odd scent... He didn't remember smelling something like this before. How odd !
Curiosity got the best of him, and he flipped back on his tiny legs, trying to figure out from which direction the odd scent was coming from...
Helios smiled, snuggling against her a bit more, "Wonder what your name is," he mused thoughtfully, then peered at the other one, "Hey, over here. I'm over here," he called, hoping maybe the sound of his voice would help him. He of course assumed the tiny chick was coming towards him. Chicks seemed to like him because of his smell!
Aurora was definitively happy with all the cuddeling. She loved being near other griffs, but Helios was even better, since he smelled so nice. It is almost as if she doesn't hear him speak, as she laid down beside him and curled up against his fur.
A noise now ! This was probably worth the effort to check out. Setzer got up from his laying position, and half-walked, half-wobbeled to the bight yellow one at a slow rate, flopping in front of him and sniffing as his face.
HAHA ! The source of the smell was found at least !
Helios giggled happily as the little chick snuffled his face, snuffling back excitedly. These guys were lots of fun! As fun as the ones back home, if not more so!
His ears flicked back, listening to Aurora. She was definitely one of his favourites, though! So snuggly!
Aurora seemed to finally realise that there was another chick around... Her own curiosity was perking... yet she didn't really want to leave her spot. Ohh, confliction ! What to do, what to do...
It looked like the second option gave in, however, but she chirped again, nonetheless.
Setzer heard the other chirp, and perked sightly. Another there ? She had his attention for the moment, but then he diverted back to Helios, sniffing and sniffing as if somehow it would give him all the clues about who that sweet-smelling one was.
Helios smiled, angling himself so that he could nuzzle Aurora a little bit and then snuffling back at Setzer. This was fun! He was getting to know two new(ish, as he'd already met Aurora before) gryphs!
Aurora gave yet another happy chirp. She defintively liked Helios ! He was always so nice, smelt so nice, and didn't mind her close to him. She liked being close to others. It was always warmer this way.
It seemed like it was time for her to go back, however, as her mother came and took her, giving Helios a bit of an apology at the quick depart, and inviting him to look for her in the flock if he wanted... then left, Aurora giving a few, saddened chirps, but seeming overall resigned.
Likewise, Setzer was taken by a female - it was hard to say it she was his mother or not, and the small chick expressed his annoyance in a much noticable string of whines, but it didn't seem to work to well, as he was soon out of sight.

It was about mid-afternoon and Mushu was wandering around teh fieleds, ambling on to Cri Kee on an assortment of various topics. Non the least of which, was to disclude, simply, how awesome he truely was and that Cri Kee really ought to appreciate the fact that he could travel with such an amazing Gryph!
The sun felt warm on his back as he turned towards a small stream. Not the big one that most gryph's seemed to flock to, but a small branching one. Dipping his tail in, he quickly recoiled it.
Much too cold.
Not too far from where Mushu was, at the same stream, there was another gryph, who didn't seem to mind the cold water too much as she stepped in it in one movement. An adult, probably her mother, watched on to make sure nothing happened as the young gryph waddeled in the water. Spotting Mushu, she smilled and swam over to him.
"Hey ! Do you want to come swimming with me ?" She offered.
Turning his head towards the sound of this new voice, Mushu jumped back as a bit of water lept over the edge and towards his paws.
"Uh... no thanks." Wow, this gryph (yes, he realizes she's a gryph, and not a cow) is pretty shiney. Shiney like a... a...
A really shiney stone.
"It's a bit too... cold... dontcha think?" he furrowed his brow in questioning.
Aurora did not seem insulted in the least by his refusal, swimming a short distance to the left before getting out and, not really bothering to shake the water from herself, she moved a bit closer to him.
"No really." She answered, bright green eyes on him. "...But then, everything is cold where I come from. So maybe im just used to it."
"Oh." he tilted his head, letting his ears flop around before grinning.
"Ah... am Mushu. This... is Cri Kee. Mah horsefly." he motioned with his muzzle towards the deep blue and purple horsefly.
"Where ah come from it's not really cold... not really warm either. I suppose it's kinda average. Like it here though, don't get none of that bad weather crap goin' on. Well, least not anytime I've been here." he let himself fall to his back haunches, sitting down.
"What's your name there shiney?"
"That sounds like a great place !" She smilled, sitting. "It's always cold home, but I still like it. Playing in the snow is fun ! The weather isn't that bad I guess, but we do get huge snowstorms. Those are just nasty."
Shiney ? This had to be the first time she heard that one. People usually called her pretty, expecially her mother's friends. It got kinda embarassing at times.
"Aurora." She chirped, glancing at Cri Kee for a moment. "Mamam told me a bit about horseflies, but this is the first time I see one !"
"Aurora? Aww... that's a pretty little name isn't it. I like Shiney better though. So I'm gonna call you that anyways." He grinned. He didn't mean it in any rude way. He just was just being a bit blunt today.
"Yah.. Cri Kee's pretty okay. He's tricky though, let me tell you! Oh yes. He can trick even the GREAT Mushu." he paused then leaned close to whisper.
"He doesn't know I just let him though. Don't wanna hurt his feelin's or nothin."
She couldn't help but giggle a bit. "If you want do, I don't mind." The nickname was amusing her, and well, it was still better than all the compliments she was used to... she figured it wouldn't get as annoying as well.
"Really ? He doesn't look tricky to me." She admitted, peering at the horsefly some more. She giggeled again when she heard the whisper, but said nothing that would let the secret out.
"'Great' Mushu ?" She turned her gaze back to him. "Did you go on adventures and all that ?! That's so cool !"
"Oh... no... I know he doesn't look tricky... but if you stare into those tiny, beady, souless eyes! You'll see it." he shifted his glance back and forth.
He listened as she reitterated his greatness, then brought on about his adventuring. Oh yah. He puffed right up and grinned smugly.
"Oh yah. I go on adventures all the time. This one time, I took a cow with me." he recalled happily at the time he'd gone off with Susan.
"That Cow and I went adventuring alllll over the place!" a bit of a white lie, the Cow's human had come to get it before they could really go anywhere.
"There's soooo much to see around here. And ah plan on seeing it all! Course, bein' the Great Mushu, can't really expect much else ah suppose." He chirped proudly hopping up onto his feet.
She seemed to have completely forgotten about the horsefly as she listened to Mushu tell of his tale, eyes almost sparkling.
"wow, that's so great ! Can I come with you sometimes ? Can I, can I ?!" That sounded like so much fun, and with Mushu, she would have nothing to fear, right ?
"...But.. what's a cow ?"
"A cow." he started slowly, "is a funny lookin creature. With biiiiig pinkish eyes and wooly like white fur. But it's not really fur at all!" oh, how wrong he was. But not that you could tell him that. Oh no. Forever and a day would that poor little sheep in his mind... be a cow.
"Well..." he thought about Aurora's request, as though he was mulling over the great many pros and cons of taking on a ... sidekick.
"Maybe someday. But y'gotta be STRONG!" he puffed up his chest, "FAST!" he runs a quick circle around her, "And most importantly... y'gotta listen to everythin' ah tell ya." he settled in front of her again.
"Big pinkish eyes, wooly fur that isn't fur, white... Gotcha !" She comitted this the memory in order to reconise one should sher ever see one.
She did seem a bit saddened by the 'maybe', but hey, that was better than a no ! She jumped on her paws, smilling. "Mama says im fast... Im not really strong, but ill do my best ! But you'll keep me safe, right ?"
Well, she was listening to him. And she wasn't making fun of him... part of Mushu wondered if she were plotting something deep, and dark, and not so cool...
But she was too shiney to be like that!
Then she bit into his ego.
"Of course ah'd keep you safe Shiney! Ah am the Great Mushu after all! Who better to keep you safe from harm than me?" he questioned as though her inquiry was almost insulting.
"Ah bet I could take out a whole den of lions!" he beamed, "Ah'd show you but it'd be just a bit too much for your earthly mind to handle."
"I knew it !" She chirped hapilly. "I don't have anything to fear when im with you !" She said with the kind of eyes that could melt an iceberg. The idea that he might not be as he said never crossed her mind.
But then she blinked. "...What's a lion, Mushu ?" She asked, hoping he didn't think she was stupid or anything like that.
He didn't really think Shiney was stupid. No. He just realized that everyone wasn't as knowledgeable as he was.
"Lions." he started, "are really big cats. These cats have grass growing out from around their necks." Grass?
"And they have enourmous claws! Bigger than you or me even!" he stretched out his body as though to show the length.
"Why, ah bet they could just eat you up in one gulp..."
Her eyes whidened a bit, and she did look a bit scared as the other gryph went on with this explaination. "Im sure glad we have none of this at home !" She glupped. "It does sound really scary..." Indeed it would be for the little one, but then she pondered something.
"Why do they have grass growing on them ? To hide better ?" She couldn't help but look around nervously for a suspicious patch of grass.
"That's exactly it." Mushu began in.
"Laying in the deep, tall grass they use their neck grass to blend in... and suddenly BAM!" He jumped forwards towards Aurora, landing nose to nose with her.
"They gonna eatchoooooo...."
"EKK !" She couldn't help it, not really scared of Mushu's movements, but of the idea he was conveying. "I don't wanna be eaten ! I bet I don't taste good at all." She pondered a moment, then grinned. "But no lion will eat me while you're here ! You'll just smash them !"
"Yer too shiney to probably taste good. You're right there. But lions ain't the smartest creatures, if you know what I mean." he cocked his head and gave a toothy grin.
"Haha! Exactly! I think you and I are gonna get along really well Shiney."
"I bet they arn't, if they'll try anything with you around." She laid down again, running a paw in the water with a smile on her muzzle. "I like you too, Mushu. You know so many things. I hope I can know alot of things too one day."
Uh... well. That was strange now. Waddling over to Aurora he settled down and nodded.
"Course they aren't. Stupid grass necks." he muttered half to himself, half to his new friend.
"Aww..." he looked over and nipped at her ear, "you'll learn a lot of things too. Just stick with me kid, you'll learn a lot." he grinned.
Whether what she'd learn from him was true or not.. was still up for debate. Well, at least most of what he said was based on truth.
...
Just horribley elaborated and twisted to fit his current situation. Y'gotta make due with whatcha have!
She flicked her ear a bit, giggeling, and visibely used to it from the other gryphs of her flock.
"I will, then." She smilled hapilly, her tail going back and forth in a calm manner. At least she wasn't one of those hyper chicks that ran everywhere at once... ...Even if she did do it sometimes.
Mushu nodded his head and Cri Kee swooped over and landed atop of Aurora. He made a few noises at her, then swivelled his antenae.
Mushu grinned, "Ah think Cri Kee likes you."
Aurora blinked, then laughed a bit, unable to see the horsefly, but feeling the little paws on her fur.
"I guess he does ! Where did you find him ?" It was a bit obivious that the shiny chick would apreciate the presence of one as well.
"Actually, I'll level with yah here on this one Shiney. Ah have no idea where ah got him. He's just been around for as long as ah I can remember." he scratched his head and looked at the horsefly.
"Ah think he just followed me home. But ah'm not really sure." he poked at the horsefly which seemed to get annoyed by it.
"He says he's a lucky bug."
"Of course he is." Maybe she could find out where they come from... Then she could teach Mushu something, too ! That was a nice idea.
But then, the little gryph felt a pair of eyes on her, and she sighed, getting up. "I think I need to go now, mama's waiting. Ill see you, okay ?"
And then she was off, crossing the stream before her mother could become impatient and come fetch her herself.

Today had been a long day. The unstable weather had really seemed to bother Felicity a bit. You couldn't really blame her, though- going from drizzling to sunshine to pouring to sunshine to thunder, then back again to sunshine wasn't really her choice of weather conditions. Though, like the little cheerful, resilient chick she was, Felicity had gotten over the poor weather and was pleased once again when the sun came out to warm up her tiny body. As a matter of fact, she was more then pleased. For one reason or another, the little chick was unreasonably estatic. She was just in a great mood! Her litle body waggled about as she crawled about the soft grass.
Day by day, Felicity noticed herself getting stronger. Her short legs could carry her with more ease now- even if she was still horribly coordinated. Her ears were swiveling and perking constantly now: noises were no longer faint, low buzzes, but now slightly distinct mumbles and whispers. This was so exciting! The one thing that the Gryphon couldn't wait to happen, though, was for her eyes to open. She wanted to see the world around her!
She was patient, though. The little newborn would wait. For now, she would wait. Besides, she had all the time in the world, didn't she? Suddenly a burst of happiness swept over her tiny body, and she let out a series of suprisingly ear soothing trills and chirps, her whole body waggling as she seemed to dance around the field. Today wasn't so bad after all, she decided.
Trotting happily along, Mushu held his head up high, looking like a proud little infant. There was a bemused grin sliding across his face. Today was a good day. Oh yes. He'd gotten through an entire nap undisturbed, the weather was nice, and Cri Kee wasn't really being all too annoying today.
So all in all, it was off to a good start. He stretched out his back as the warm sun beat down on it, and suddenly swiveled his ears about. Was there something moving in the grass? Indeed there was.
Maybe it was a lion! Grassnecks! Oh no!
Turning he began to creep forwards, peeking over the little hedge of grass. Down below was a small, and really pale looking baby gryph.
Well... at least it wasn't a cow or a lion.
Duke was the one who would make his appearance. With chicks nestled on the ground around him, he was laying on top of a flat bed rock, the perfect place to have a little sun. His long tail sways behind him as he observes everything around him, his ears swiveling, his eyes paying close attention to what was happening. After all, he did need to take care of the chicks, and any who made the mistake of getting too close would probably finds themselves faced with a very angry father.
His large wings stretch then nestle against him before he turns his head to spy the little red Hippogryph running around. He pays no mind; so long as it's other Hippogryphs then he was very willing to relax, but even then one should still be cautious.
Persephone, herself, was curled up against the rock where she had been brought. Her little white coat was dirty but she didn't care, obviously; she couldn't even see it! Her nose was nestled against her forepaws, snoozing contently. The sounds all around her were still dulled out too much for her to notice unless they were extremely loud and extremely close to her.
Aurora was slowly trotting down, not really noticing too much as she walked ahead of her mother, who held another chick as they walked. This one wasn't from her flock, she knew, but he felt a bit familiar. Her mother had told her she had agreed to watch over him for the day since he was the son of a friend she had in another flock.
Setzer was mrring sightly, as if a bit upset at all the movements going on. How did they expect him to SLEEP like this ?! Hmph ! He tried so hard to open his eyes to see where they where going, but it was a no go.
Helios frolicked cheerfully around the central area. He had seen Gaea the day before with one of her new chicks, and now he spotted Duke with the others! Gleefully, he trotted over to them and sniffed at each gently-- he didn't want to disturb them or anything.
"Hi Duke!" he wiggled his tail happily at the older gryph.
Guinivere lifted her head, hearing things around her. She tried to open her eyes, but couldn't get them open more then a crack, and besides that, the light was far to blinding for her anyway.
She cried out. Shouldn't her brother be around her somewhere? Where waaaas he?
Rumaging through the long grass, Kuja was looking for the rock he normally napped on, but he couldn't seem to find in anywhere. Snorting angrily, Kuja held his head high as though in a mood with the grass itself. How dare his rock be moved!
Without even relising it, the small chick seem to bump into something soft and red.. And bigger then he was. He was even knocked back to the ground witha small squeak.
And then suddenly, almost as if out of nowhere, several new scents and noises flooded Felicity's senses. She squealed from suprise- she'd been too busy dancing and wiggling to have noticed them earlier! Squeaking gently, her little chirp laced with mild apprehension, the little Gryph lifted her nose to the air. Oh my! There were tons of other Gryphs around the the meadow today. That was certainly exciting... Though, in spite of Felicity's slight disappointment at not quite being able to physically see all of them- surely she could sniff and bump into them!
Deciding that would be the best choice, the little girl swiveled around a bit, her velvety muzzle bringing itself to the sky as best she could, taking in all the foreign scents around her. There seemed to be something just behind her! Yipping softly with excitement, the naive chick scuttled backwards before twirling her body around gracelessly. She didn't have much coordination. Felicity headed in Mushu's direction, pleased that one of the many Gryphs around was right behind her!
And then it happened. Minding his OWN business (even though he was spying on the baby gryph) something came and bumped into his side.
"AUGH!" he cried out, turning his head to see a... weird lookin gryph. What was up with that hair? And that outfit? Why the heck would any self respectin' gryph be goin' around in that sort of get up?
Man he must have a cruel den mother.
"Helloooooo.... bigger Gryph here... watch where ya goin'." he hrmphed...
Then realized it was another baby gryph. Opening his mouth to say something he suddenly realized there was something else coming close to him. Turning his head he spied that little paley baby coming up on his haunched. Oh no.
This likely wasn't going to end well.
His ears twist and his head tilts down when he spies the approaching ball of yellow fluff that belongs to Helios. He offers the boy a friendly smile upon his approach.
"Hello, Helios. How are you?"
Persephone's ears twitch as she feels something coming near, enough to draw her out of the slumber she was in. She tilts her head up, chirruping faintly at her father and then in direction of where she assumes Helios to be.
Aurora couldn't help but notice Mushu's predicament, and couldn't help but giggle as well.
Ah, well. The great Mushu wouldn't need her help to repeal the chick invasion, yes ?
So, she instead turned to waddle torward the other voice she reconized in the pack. "Hellliooosss~" She called in a sing-song voice, only noticing Duke and his chick when she got there, and stopped.
"Oh, im sorry... Do you mind if I come closer, mister ?"
Upon noticing a gathering of gryph of all ages, Aurora's mother finally let Setzer down. He aknowledged this with a small huff. About TIME !
His grumpyness seemed to be replaced by cusiosity, as he started to crawl to the biggest source of sound - that is, Mushu and the other chicks.
Helios smiled, "I'm doing great, Duke! and..." he blinked, turning around at the voice. He spotted Aurora and beamed!
"Hi!" he cried, trotting over to her and giving her a nuzzle, "You're so big now!"
The small white and black chick turned her head left and right. Maybe if she moved she'd find where he went...
She started crawling in a random direction. Heerrrree brother brother brother...
She stopped suddenly, squeaking loudly as she ran into the front leg of a bright red (although she didn't know the color) object.
Finally looking at the older Gryph, Kuja looked rather stunned for a moment as the other spoke, ears pricked up. He didn't understand fully what he said, but the tone he did not like.
No one talked to him like that!
Scowling in an odd way, he clambered onto all fours again, getting ready to head but the red one. But his head pricked back up again as he recognised the white Gryph coming closer. Or... atleast it was similllar to the last one.
Snorting, he nudged Mushu's leg moodily before setting off to the white Gryph. Maybe she moved his rock!
Nothing could spoil Felicity's mood, it seemed. Not even the reappearence of the unfriendly baby Gryph, (not that she thought him unfriendly- Felicity had been happily unaware of Kuja's dislike of her presence) seemed to let her down. As a matter of fact, Felicity was estatic when she heard the small squeak come out of the other chick's mouth. A second Gryph?! That was wonderful!
Her priority, however, was on the first 'something' that she'd sniffed out. Mushu, of course. Oblivious to the dread that was forming in the red Gryphon at the sight of two approaching babies, Felicity continued onward, wiggling close enough to Mushu so that she was an inch or so away from his forepaws. She then promptly let out a trill of happy squeaks, as it to introduce herself.
Unfortunately for her, Felicity hadn't the slightest clue that Kuja was headed towards her. Besides, she hadn't moved his stinky rock!
Mushu promptly tried to backpeddle from the little gryphs. Saddly, he found his back leg bumping up against something else tiny, and soft. Turning his head he saw yet another little gryph. What the?!
Looking left for an escape his eyes went wide as a tiny pig made it's way towards him! (Afterall the cow couldn't obviously be the cow seeing as Susan was a cow).
These little monsters were everywhere!
Cri Kee seemed to laugh at Mushu's misfortune, however quickly stopped as the red gryph shot him a threatening glance. It was then he heard the tiny trilling noises. Turning his head towards the first baby he'd seen he made a nervous laugh.
"Hi... I'm Mushu... nice to meet you all..."
His company was short-lived; he watches as Helios's attention, rather flightly, is caught by someone else. Eyes rolling, but amused, he lets the boy wander off. Any humans who saw this spectacle would probably think that Duke was stuck with babysitting judging from the amount of chicks around him and he being the only adult. Not the case though.
Regardless Duke lets out a yawn, stretches and sets his head down on the nice warm slab. He closes his eyes, intending to take a momentary nap.
Forgetting all about Duke's presence as well, she returned Helios's nuzzle, giggeling. "Not really ! Mom still won't let me go anywhere alone." She pouted, setteling to sit, "It's a bit annoying, but im glad you're here !" She chirped hapilly. "How are you doing ?"
Setzer continued his approach, but then, as if the sky has opened to form a miracle, he stopped nearby, visibely being very amused by what he could gather of the situation.
Thanksfully, he didn't look like he was getting any closer, but he let out a small, amused chirp.
Helios sat down next to her, grinning goofily, "But you are! Last time, you didn't even have your eyes opened yet or anything!" he disagreed, then lifted his muzzle to the sky, taking in the sunlight, "I'm doing great! It's so nice and sunny and beautiful out!"
Guinivere chirped up at Mushu. She had no idea what was going on, but he had made some funny noises.
Pay attention to meeeeee! She kept chirpping, hoping he would cuddle against her like her brother did. She was cold anyway and tried moving in closer.
Kuja's ears flickered close to his head as he cringed slightly on the spot. What was making all that chirping?! It was always so noisy!
Snorting again, Kuja ignored it and continued on towards the white Gryph.
Once he was there, he gave it a glare while he pressed his torso to the ground. Again he snorted at it while giving in a annoyed mewl.
Spinning his head towards Setzer's direction, Mushu huffed, "Whatchu laughin' at spikey?" he annoyedly commented on the gryph's hair. Hey..
That one had a stupid looking outfit on too. What was up with that?! Wait... wasn't that one from his flock? Ugh.. it was too... Then the the white and black piggy started chirping at him. Sighing audibly he reached over and nipped at the back of her scruff, dragging her closer, although it was reluctantly.
He may be bigger, but he wasn't so much bigger than the chicks that it was easy to do that.
The Great Mushu!...
Reduced to chick sitter.
"Yeah, it's a very good day out." She agreed, looking back at Mushu and barely repressing a giggle.
"Mama says that too... All this "they grow so fast" thing. Do your mama do that, too ?" She asked, lying down to bask in the sun.
Setzer stopped laughing the second he figured the voice was directed at him, but didn't move or anything. It came to him that he did remember that voice from somewhere, but beyond that...
The good news, for Mushu at least, was that he had no intention to add himself to the chickpile, rolling in a little ball to sleep, visibely now a bit disinterested by the scene. He didn't want any trouble, anyway !
...At least, not until he could cause trouble back.
Helios lie down next to her, rolling over onto his back just like when they were newborns together, "A little bit..." he laughed, "She's like, 'I just can't believe how big you've gotten'! And I just laugh and roll about in the sun and she goes, 'although, you're still just a chick at heart.' It's funny!"
Guinivere chirped happily as she was dragged closer to the other gryph, then nuzzled against Mushu. Oooh, soft fur. Yay!
She purred contentedly and curled up, yawning cutely. Wherever brother was, he was missing out.
Eugh... it was being all mushy snuggly with him. Mushu felt his ego deflate as the pig nuzzled against him.
Stupid purring piggy.
If Mushu knew there was another pig, he'd have been thankful it wasn't there. Turning his head around he noticed the other little gryph curling up for a nap. Well.. whatever. At least it wasn't buggin' him.
"Mamas are so silly." She giggeled, rolling sideway a bid to cuddle completely against the bigger yellow child, again much like they had done when they both where younger. Visibely, the sweet sent that followed Helios everywhere still drew her in. "But that's okay."
And so Setzer napped... or HOPED he could eventually nap. There where so many sounds in here... He tossed around a bit irritabely, but felt too tired to attempt to move into a more quiet location. Augh...
Helios rolled onto his side, rather than his back, so that he could snuggle against Aurora better. She was such a good cuddle buddy! "They can be," he nodded, fluffing his wings out for a second and then tucking them back in, "But, they're fun, too."
Guinivere tried to open her eyes again. Awww, why couldn't she see? It was so annoying. She wanted to see the fluffy thing she was snuggling against.
She started peeping again. Maybe the fluffy thing would play with her!
And then, Setzer's savior came in the form of the tall gryph that was Aurora's mother. She grapped him gentely by the scruff of the neck, still getting a yelp out of the tiny one as she turned and motionned to her daughter that it was time to leave.
"Yeah... sometimes."
She perked a bit at all the sound, and have a loud protest. "But mooommm !" Nothing would do, she knew, and sighed, reductantly getting up. "Im sorry, Helios. Mom wants to go home, probably so that Setzer's mom will be able to come get him. Ill see you later, allright ?"
She gave a small nuzzle at his side before waddeling slowly to her mother, and thus, the little group was on it's way.

It was another of those days in which Setzer was being watched upon by Aurora's mother. Heaven only knew why his own mom seemed so absent... but he had grown mostly used to it.
He didn't mind this much, asside the fact that the den mother could be a little rough in handeling, and it was so damn COLD in there ! But then, it seemed that it was why the bigger, reddish (not that he could tell) chick was exactly there for that, that is, curl around him and keep him mostly warm.
THAT, he couldn't complain with.
Well, that is until the mother had the bight idea to grap him. He whined in irritation at being awakened, but not much would do.
Aurora was sent rolling to her side as Setzer was fetched from somewhere around her, the older chick whinning a bit as well as she sat and tried to brush the snow from her pelt. Her mother was asking for her attention, visibely trying to use poor whinning Setzer to bring home her point - trying to teach her daughters the proper ways of carrying and handeling chicks. After all, she wanted her daughter to grow to be a good den mother, and it was never too early to start ! Well, so she thought. The red one listened half-heartedly, really not interested in what her mother had to show this time. Why was she telling her all this was beyond her. She just wanted to sleep... or maybe see Helios again.
Well... maybe it was too early for this. Yes, that must have been it - and so, setzer found himself, to his relief, gentely set down in the snow - feathers almost standing on ends at the contact with the cold. How could those gryphs could live like this ? They had to be crazy... CRAZY !!!!
Aurora made her way throught the fresh snow ratter easely, again curling around the newborn gryph so they could resume their naps, hopefully with no other interuptions.

Grumpy was hanging out on some ridges of the mountain rage to the north east where he lives. In the summer the mountain was cool but not as cold as one might think, especially at his elevation which isn't too high off the ground. It's only a few yard. A paw or two dangles over the side as he looks around noting how quiet it appears to be. His wings lift and stretch and his tail flicks before he notices something moving down below. Huh. What could it be.
Aurora was so very happy to have managed to escape her mother's "lessons", so to speak, and had ventured out of the packgrounds alone for the first time, which, for the young girl, seemed quite an accomplishment.
Of course, she didn't plan on going too far and getting lost. That would be a very bad thing, and then if Mushu learnt of it, he would probably not like her anymore.
So, she carefully walked at the base of the mountainrange. This was a spot she knew well, so there was no danger of getting lost, or so she thought.
The little gryph sat not too far from where Grumpy was perched, visibely not having noticed him as she decided to stay here for a moment. She would probably continue her walk in a few minutes.
He hadn't seen her before, but there were many gryphs whom he had never laid eyes on! Curiously he climbs up to his feet and slowly descends down the mountain. He doesn't try to keep quiet at all so she'd probably hear the little pebbles falling down the mountain side as he climbs down to the ground. He maintains his balance most of the way, stumbling just as he gets to the bottom but managing not to fall.
He turns to face her, his ears lifting up and his head tilting at her. "Hi."
One of Aurora's little ears perked at the sound of the falling pebbles, standing back up as the blue one came into view.
"Hello !" Oh, she had never met this one before. "I don't think I have seen you before... My name is Aurora."
He smiles at her, briefly, just enough to show he's friendly, at least when he wants to be.
"I'm Grumpy. I don't think I've seen you before. Is this your first time around here?"
"I come here with my mom sometimes." The chick answered. "But we don't usually stay here too long." Grumpy... What a strange name. She didn't mention anything about it - it wouldn't be polite, as her mother told her so often. "But I decided to come here on my own today so I could stay a bit longer. Do you live here ?"
He nods, his ears flicking as he takes a seat on the ground next to her. He's much bigger than her of course so he has to look down at her. "Yes, I do. I live up on the mountain with my flock."
He tilts his head up to indicate what he speaks of. "What about you?" he asks as he turns to look back to her. "Where do you live?"
"That's a nice place to live." She aknowledged with a smile. "I live in the north, where there's snow all the time." Or at least, very often. "It's not a bad place at all, but sometimes it get very cold..."
"Oh really? I've never been up there. Trueheart and Nobleheart won't let us go without them coming with us." He remains sitting as the two of them talk. "I sometimes want to go up there... maybe when I'm older."
"It's a nice place, just very cold." She nodded. "I hope you can come sometime. Ill show you around if you do... There are alot of little nooks that are hidden by the snow at the first glance." She had been hard at work trying to find them all over the last few weeks. "Trueheart and Nobleheart ? Are they your parents ?" She asked, curiosity apparent in her little eyes.
He nods, understanding this perfectly. Even in the mountains there are places to hide that no one would ever actually know of unless they looked closely.
"They aren't my parents, no but they're my guardians. All of our Guardians. There's a couple of us; not a lot but a few. What about you? Is there a lot of others in your flock?"
"I see." She aknowledged, then pondered the question, head bobing to the side in thought. "There's quite alot of gryphs in my flock, I think. There are alot of chicks that are a bit younger than I am, and a few adults who take care of us. My mom's one of them, and my dad helps along with what he can. I don't see him as much as I see my mom. She makes me help out a bit too and it's kinda boring sometimes." She scrunched her little nose almost cutely.
"I bet it's boring everywhere though," he answers with a flick of his tail. He lifts up a forepaw to rub at his nose then drop it.
"I get kind of bored hanging out around here so I usually go for nice long walks. Sometimes I meet other gryphs from other places like you. I've met a lot of strange gryphs. Have you?"
"Yeah, I bet it is. I get bored sometimes too, but im not supposed to go out alone. But I know the area well and I won't get lost unless I go too far."
The red chick stretched a bit, idely. "I've seen a few, like Setzer. His mom is friend with my mom and she watches over him sometimes so I talk to him alot. He's kinda wierd, he got something over his fur." She looked very puzzeled. "It doesn't seem to bother him at all, but it's odd."
"I hope your mom won't get mad at you then," he answers, ears tilting forward. "It'd be bad if your mom gets mad because you stayed out late this far."
He climbs up to his feet and stretching a little then sits back down again, stretching his back out a second time. His tail thumps gently against the ground despite that it really isn't that big or long.
"Really? Huh. I don't think I've seen anything too strange.."
"She probably will, but she probably won't be mad too long. I've told her I wanted to go out on my own for awhile, so I kind-of warned her." Her little ears where wriggeling, as if trying to catch any sound that might happen, and try to identify it. "Or she might be too busy with the other chick to notice at all. They quite obiviously require more attention than I do."
Aurora nodded. "Yeah, it's wierd, and kind of hard to explain. You really have to see him to understand, I think." Her head tilted to the side. "He's not really that bad, but he can get annoying sometimes. I guess he's kind of like my little brother."
Grumpy can't help but laugh a little bit, his ears flagging back down against his head. "I guess so but still. She might be worried about you. You don't want to make her scared or upset do you?"
Another laugh escapes him and he smiles more at her. "Wish is sort of like my little sister. And there's a few others... Like Swiftheart and Love-a-Lot. There's a new hairier one named Beastly. He's kind of odd."
"Not really." Aurora's little ear pinned against her head - she visibely havn't thought of it like that. "Maybe I should go home ? And you can walk with me for a bit ? I can show you the general direction of where I live."
She couldn't help but laugh a bit when he continued on. "Sounds like everyone in your flock is pretty close to each other."
"I think you probably should so your mom doesn't get upset and worry about you," he answers. He blinks at her request. "Oh. Sure. I can go with you."
It would be mean of him not to and he had a feeling that Nobleheart and Trueheart would be upset if he didn't escort her. He rises up onto all four paws again, smiling at her.
"We are. We're one very big happy family. Well. Except for Beastly."
Smilling happily in answer, she got up herself and started to slowly walk back into the direction she had came from. "I really don't want my mom to be worried... I hope she's not looking for me." She sighed. "She has enough to worry about, really."
Her mother might like to rant, but it didn't mean Aurora wanted to make her sad.
"We're pretty close too. We pretty much have to, since it sometimes get very cold up here, so we all get together into one of the shelters and stay huddeled close to each other for warmth. If we trully couldn't stand each other, it would make those times really bad." The idea of having to go thought a snowstorm with other gryph bickering wasn't exactly one she liked to care about.
"Well, if you haven't been gone for too long I bet she won't be mad," he states in the most reassuring voice he can muster as he walks alongside of her. "If she's mad just tell her you're sorry. That's all you can do."
He listens as she explains this, nodding a little. "But your fur is a little thicker than mine too," he notices, pointing out. He lifts a paw to playfully poke at one of her shoulders. "I've never seen snow before."
"Yeah... Trying to deny it will only make her more mad." She agreed, then perked a bit. "Really... ?" Never having seen snow seemed so wierd for her. She playfully batted at his paw when he poked her, letting out a giggle. "Well, snow is white and dad told me it happens when it's raining, but it's too cold. So the water turn into snowflakes and it stays in the ground, making it all white and cold. Maybe I can show you some without you getting too far inside. I wouldn't want your guardians to get mad at you because of me."
He laughs when she bats at his paw, setting it down on the ground so that he could walk more easily.
"Yeah, really. I've never seen it. I don't go too far up north and it doesn't really snow up on the mountain where we are."
He is silent as she explains what snow is, nodding slowly. "Maybe. That would be neat but we don't have to. I don't think Trueheart and Nobleheart would be really mad, but just upset. But I don't really need to go too far either."
"Dad also said that there isn't any snowflake that is identical to another, that they're all different. I think he's right, because I havn't seen any that looked the same."
And boy, she had seen alot of snowflake.
"But still, I wouldn't want them to be upset at you, either."
"That's interesting. I think I've heard about that." While he's never seen snow he certainly hasn't not heard of it or tales about them.
"I don't think they will. I'm getting older and they know it. I stay out a lot by myself and they don't seem to mind so long as I'm okay."
The walk continues and he looks back between her and the area in front of them. "How long till we get there?"
"I think my mom forgets that, sometimes." She giggeled. "But it's okay... Im the only chick that's really her's. So I guess that's why she acts like that."
Aurora looked around herself for a moment, spotting the various landpoints that she used to situate itself, like that funny-shaped rock to the left.
"Not too long, maybe a few more minutes in that direction, then walking up to the north."
In fact, it was allready getting a bit colder, and there was a few scattered patches of white on the ground.
"You see that white stuff ? That's snow." She announced. "It means we're almost there."
"That could be why. Trueheart and Nobleheart don't have chicks of their own. They just take care of us all like we're their own." They were obviously nice people.
He looks to one of the patches she points out to him, stopping to dip his nose down and sniff. It did smell like water.
"I hope I can find my way back..!" he announces with a laugh as he lifts his head and follows.
"That might be, yes." She nodded, peering in the distance. "I really hope you do ! Thanks for walking and talking to me, it was fun to talk to you." She smilled a very sweet smile. "My flock's territory starts not too far from here, so I should be fine. Ill make sure to come by again so we can talk some more !"
He stops when she seems to make it clear it's time for them to part ways. His ears stand alert as he looks at her, nodding at her.
"Okay. Be safe. It was nice to meet you, Aurora," he states, smiling at her. He doesn't walk off until she turns around and is out of distance.

Aurora was bored. Definitively bored. Thanksfully she had gotten off the hook for her last stint relatively without problem - of course, her mother had scolded her, and now she was watching her like a hawk, but she hadn't been grounded or anything. And while Setzer was over today... He was sleeping. The little gryph was tempted to go off and try to find Mushu or Grumpy... but she knew better than going without saying a thing now, and it was doubtful she would be allowed to go alone. And having her mother tag along when she went to see her friends was boring.
"Settttzzzerrr..." She idely poked the other gryph with a paw. "Wake up, im bored."
"Then take a nap." Came the answer from the tight ball of fur and clothes that was Setzer, as he batted a strand of hair away with a paw. Was it possible to sleep in here ? He liked Aurora and all - if he hadn't, she would have gotten a much different answer, after all ! - but still !
"But im not tired." She flopped down beside him, trying to peer to see his face. "...You know, there's something I've been wondering. Can I ask ?"
Bahhhhh. "Go for it, it's not like im going to fall asleep again anyway." He mumbeled, shifting to stand and stretch a bit. Ahhh, sleep had been so good..
"I've always kinda wondered why you wore those things." Aurora said, glancing at him.
"Things ?" He blinked. "Care to be a bit more specific ?" "You know... those things. Is your fur not tick enough ?" To make her point come across, she batted a bit at a sleeve.
"Oh, that." Finally having understood, he pondered for a moment. "Because I like them. And most of my flock wear things like this. I never really wondered why, maybe it's just a flock thing. My fur is okay, it really is."
This seemed to be a good enough explaination for the little red gryph, who just nodded. "But you always say you're cold here. Are you sure your fur is okay ?" Maybe Setzer didn't have any fur under those things... Wow, that'll sure be upsetting !
"Everyone's cold in here, Aurora. Even you say you're cold sometimes. But since you live here, you're more used to it, and im not." Logic, mostly, as he flicked an ear a bit annoyedly. His fur and feathers where just fine, thank you !
"Sorry." Aurora knew Setzer enough to know what that perticular ear-flick was. "I was just wondering. I guess it could be a flock thing, a friend told me that he saw some other gryphs that wore things like you do. It's kinda wierd, but kinda pretty, too."
"Of course it's pretty." Setzer grinned, then a shiver went though his spine. "Too cold..." The little gryph muttered as he started going deeper into the cavern, where the adults where. It would be hotter there.
"Hey ! Wait for me, Setzer ! You'll get lost !" Aurora was hot on the younger gryph's trail. "Setzer !!!"
