I'm looking into buying wheels for my SC soon so I'm just gathering information on wheels and tires and whatnot.
Just wondering what kind of preferences you have:
-brand of wheel
-wheel size (offset, wider in the back, same on all four corners, etc.)
-tire preference
I really wanted to get a set of black or gold Yokohama Super Advan ver.2's 18x9 in the front and 18x10 in the back with Kumho's on all for corners (cuz they're cheap). I don't think I'll be able to afford spending $600 a wheel though, so I might just look into a set of gold Volk SF-Challenge's.

im going to end up getting either Watanabe RS-8s or Konig Rewinds in 15x8 with Falken Azenis on all four....the Konigs are more realiztic though....but eh...
guess my preferences are
RS Watanabe rims
no offset
Falken Azenis tires

I truely believe that black SSR Reverse with machined lips are the seks. They look good most cars pre 1992.

Ran across a site featuring Lowenhart wheels the other day eek
I'm typically not a fan of luxury wheels, but after looking around (particularly at the Noir series)I've begun to open my options of possibly making a pimped out ride rather than a tuner car sweatdrop
Any opinions? The cost is practically the same, so should I go with Advans or Lowenharts?

Hmm what kind of Advans. Do you have piccies of what you had in mind.
Edit: what colour is your Soarer at the moment.
I liked the look of the X1Rs, if you are going with luxury wheels then you want them to stand out and contast with the rest of the car.

PErsonally I hate anything on a car if its over 17".
My stock rims IMO are great, but I have looked into some 17" black SSR aluminum lightweight racing rims, their 5 spoke and look and perform great.
I'd run those wih the Dunlop SP-Sport FM901's, or the new Goodyear all weather performance tires.
Also a word of advice, stay away from Kuhmos, their not good tires at all, they have a very loud and bumpy ride, and they dont perform as well as Yokohamas, Falkens or Dunlops. They are that cheap for a reason. Yokohamas wear down really fast, almost as fast as Pirelli, so I'd go for the Falkens or the Dunlops. 3nodding

Haha my favorite wheel style is conpleaty diffrent than any of yours... My dune buggy Im puting Stock wheels on it but im reversing them b/c They look so much nicer and my dad said it's one of the only car's you can do it safely. But Im Powder coating them black, puting the old 40's hubcaps on them and a beauty ring on it.

Kumhos are really nice though because after you do a full burnout, stage, and run a 12-sec quarter mile, they won't look like you took a weed wacker to them like the others will. There is a method to my madness sweatdrop Super Panda - My car is silver right now, but I may paint it later on. If I decide to go with the Advans, I'll probably go with a set of gold TC-II's with either a bronze or blue paint job. If I go with the Lowenharts, I'll probably get either the LD1's or the LD5's in chrome and either get black paint or leave the car silver. Advan TC-IILowenhart LD1

I get the feeling that the noir Lowenharts, could get jacked. Or even worse scratched. XP
I'd say get the Advan TCII in gold, mask up the edges and powder coat the spokes and the center black.
Not sure if thats possable or how its done, but anyway.

Actually, I was thinking of just getting the LD1's in chrome. I don't think the Noir would match too well with my car's color. I finally got a quote on the wheels the other day though...... $4200 crying I hate import taxes....make everything so goddam expensive....

Chromes a bad idea imo. Expensive, they chip and you may need to get the chrome redone, and they're usually pretty heavy. But hey, if you like them, I say why the hell not!

But hey, if you like them, I say why the hell not! yeah If you want shiny Wheels get Polished one's you'll have to clean them more but they look the shiz and you could have them lacquered for maximum shine and if you scratch em you would only have to patch the Laquer up
