Okay I have two questions. One: How do rabbits lay eggs? and Two: Why is easter always on a sunday?
PostPosted: Sun Apr 16, 2006 11:44 am

1. With skill.
2. Easter is always on Sunday because it is a Christian Holiday when Jesus rose from the dead I believe. And as we all know people only rise from the dead on Sundays, so it wouldn't make sense to celebrate it on Saturday.

Okay but see all the other holidays are like on different days each year...but easter is like on the same number and day every single day of the year. I just don't think thats right....lol its just weird to me for some reason.

1.) The notion was brought about by the Cadbury Egg company. Before that, I do not believe anyone associated the rabbit as the physical bearer of the eggs, but the bringer of eggs on the holiday.
2.) It's part of the ritual. As such, it doesn't necessarily have to make sense; it's about the feeling to followers. The details of date do not necessarily need to matter- it has been shown that Jesus was probably born sometime in January, but people continue to celebrate in December because of the tradition and deeper meaning of Christmas. The same goes for Easter.

Although, the rabit and egg concept are faux-Pagan; an 8th century monk named Bede was the first one to actually write about Ostara and the like, and recent studies point that this show he hay have made it up.

I truly dont think it matters what day he was born and when he died. He was known as great and as god because he believed in him self and did things people did not understand at the time. He wasnt gods son or anything like that. He was a soul that had done something others are trying to do now. To me, I think that the past needs to be let go and we need to live in the now instead of what happened way back when. I know he has been here many times and not just once, but he chose to keep him self secret the other times so that it did not turn out like it did the last time. I donno, I personally think that celibrations are great but we just need to let go certain things about why we have them. Right now...I have kinda lost it lol, mostly because its 1:01AM. Its an interesting subject to discuss though. I just wish people would let certain things go about religion and just live life.

He was crucified on a Friday so that's Good Friday [no idea for the name] when he died. 3 days later [on Sunday] he resurrected himself. That's why Easter is the same days and dates all the time. I have no idea why others change.

As for the rabbit, they don't lay eggs. [I'm assuming that was a joke though] But the rabbit is to symbolise fertility, and the egg is to symbolise new life, as easter is all about the resurrection of Jesus - hence new life.

Actually, many have speculated about Christ's well-known reincarnation in the 1800's, Bahaulah. He was born the exact date Jesus was predicted to come back. Though he was not as popular as Jesus, he underwent things as gruesome, if not more, than Christ did. I do not believe in reincarnation as most know it, but what Bahaullah did has impressed me, since it is well-documented by western journalists at the time.
Though he never claimed to be Christ, he did claim to be a prophet, just like Christ. He started his own religion, also. Incredible man.

Okay well first of all, I have come to terms of what really happened to the man back then and how he really felt....not by any book or person but by feeling and actually sorta seeing it with my own eyes. He did not create a religion, that was the HUMANS part. He was a higher being that came to this plane to teach (and this is exact on what I seen) how to be one with your self.

Good point. He himself was a Bab (following the teachings of his herald, Babi. If Bahaulah was Christ, then Babi was John the Baptist.). He did not actually create the religion, but it came about as a result of his teachings. Just like Christianity.

I suppose thats possible because he has been here more then once. I think it did come about but it was something he really didn't want....not to mention he could have actually been a she...or an IT whatever comes first.
