I've just been browsing a guild which is anti-children. The people in it want to be "childfree" adults. While i'm pro-choice I say "If you don't want kids, fine. Don't have any." But the thing is, they seemed to take an incredibly immature turn. They were saying things like "Babies are so ugly" "They're just a wad of cells" And "Giving birth is gross. Some people say its like magical blah blah blah." And that pretty much pissed me off.
Do you think that they were being immature?

As a personal belief, I think childbirth is one of the most beautiful things any animal can endure. The fact that we can create life is our single greatest power. Some people think "Wow it would be awesome to have the power to bring people to life." Well, you can do that. By giving birth, creating life. Also, we have the power of death. We can take life away as easily as we can create it.
Giving birth is magical, in a sense.

This discussion can also lead down two other paths.
What does the term "Real beauty" mean?
And how we, as humans, place so much power in other things like monsters, gods and supernatural powers. How they blurr the lines of magic and nature.
Feel free to discuss any points here.

Good thing that don't want children- doesn't seem they'd be able to handle one.

And if they think babies are just a wad of cells, so are they. Babies are just humans in a certain stage of development; they have all of the physical (and spiritual) components needed to change and be an adult within them, but are not at that stage yet. So, although we have developed, we are, ultimately, still the same as when we were born. To say babies are a wad of cells is to say all humanity, and therefore all life, is just a bunch of cells.

What is magical about the labor process is not only is someone bringing a new life form into this realm of concious reality, but right afterwards, a mother tends to completely forget the pain when they have their newborn in their arms. They might feel sore later, but the pain becomes a fleeting memory. I think that small aspect of it all is amazing.

Personally, I want to bear two children and adopt one. I want to pass on my heritage and part of my spirit to the next generation, as well as have two (for I think I shall adopt in between births) individuals experience the feeling of being a brand-new big brother or big sister. 3nodding

I agree with that whole post actually. It's heartwarming to see a mother cry in joy over her new creation after she's been through 9 months of pain to carry it. And I want children because I want to experience the process of childbirth, plus I want to see my full potential as a human - ultimately an animal.

It sounds like they are really immature over there. I guess they forget that they were "ugly lumps of cell's" once, Hell, they probably still are.

Lol, I was thinking the same thing. On that note....I have thought about having children before. I think I would be a great mother. I have alot of feelings towards others children and I help some mothers with theirs...its really weird to me that I dont have much experance in it but yet I know what to do. Its just kinda freaky lol. In all of this I love life and realize certain things just by helping mothers and feeling like one is just so wonderful. whee 4laugh heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart

I think generally those of us who are not as interested in creating new human life feel kind of jaded and teased by those who can and choose to create new life. It's as if we somehow are lesser, because we cannot create new life. As if someone who chooses not to procreate is a lesser human. That's what I feel sometimes. Just because I'm losing my ability to procreate for my need of gender balance shouldn't mean I'm somehow uniformed about life or a lesser individual.

Remember that psychic-instinct. Maternal instinct is a powerful and wonderful mistress.

That's true. And I don't have a problem with people who can't have or don't want children. But when they take it way overboard and are immature about it, that's just sad.

You're a woman no matter what your body is. All women have that maternal instinct. Some just block it out, or never discover it.

anyone who thinks that having children is gross is not only immature,
but an idiot.
it really gets to this1 as this1 knows some couples who'd give anything to have children of their own, yet for whatever reasons they able to do so.
so when this1 hears of these idiots saying that they dont wanna be tied down, etc, etc, it really pisses this1 off.

this1 is still looking foward to the day when he can walk into a hospital with his wife/girlfriend (depending on how things turn out) and walk out holding a baby in his arms.
saying its gross is stupid, as there where they themselves came from. this1 thinks that idiots such as those shouldnt have kids as they most likely will have something wrong with them when they are born, and in this circumstance it would entirely be the parents fault ^_^

sorry i this1 seems a bit anti-thosepeople, but it really bugs me when someone says they dont want kids. this1 still finds it a miracle even though he's heard of many family members go through it.

some radical gay groups jeer at young mothers and pelt them with garbage, calling them "breeders".

so do some activists who wory about overpopulation.

but i like my genetic heritage and want it to stay in the pool.

i also would love to bear two children of my own, and if that can't happen, to adopt.

i work with kids for a living, so i have no illusions. yet they are still remarkable valuable beings.

I would love to be a woman, to have that connection with their children that the father, no matter how hard he tries, can never attain. The price is high, but the rewards are higher. To hold another being in my arms and know that it is a part of me and the one I love, and to know that she brought this beautiful child into the world would be the greatest feeling in the world. The innocence in its eyes, alone, is worth it. It still doesn't know of how idiotic and arrogant people can be. Infants are the closest beings to purity on this corrupt planet. Purity equals beautiy. The most beautiful thing in the world, birth. The unconditional love that the parents have for their child is what's missing in this world today.

We need love, we need to slow down and realise just how beautiful humanity can really be.

People don't have sex for its beauty anymore, but for the lust. People just want to be pleased on a short term basis, and live without the commitment that can come about with their actions.

Through sex, we see the most beautiful aspects of humainty, but we also see the most deplorable aspects of humanity as well.
