In the beginning there was only the Nun. The Nun was everything and nothing, all potential and no form: the waters of chaos.
From the Nun rose the very first mound of black, fertile earth, and upon that mound grew a lotus. Its delicate petals opened to reveal a perfectly formed babe nestled in its center.
The babe was Atum long before he came amongst gods and men as Re. Self created, Atum was alone with the waters of chaos.
Then, with a single word, he spoke and created everything: "Be."

The Desert Kingdom is set in the crook of a flowing river and the steady lake. Here fertile river and lake banks frame the nor'western borders of the large Pride. Lush palms, reeds, and grass flow into a dry grassland and then the large desert. This Pride relies on the migratory patterns of the prey, water animals and fish for it's sustence.
In the morning the Desert Kingdom is pleasantly warm, climbing to a scorching heat during mid-afternoon and settling back into the warmth in the evening before plunging to an icy chill at night. The breezes off the river and lake help keep the dry grassland at a comfortable temperature, yet going too far away will subject any lion to the deserts true force.
Scorpions and snakes are the Prides only true enemies, for the hyena's steer clear of the desert.
Nestled near the river banks to the North are a set of old ruins in which Desert Kingdom is centered around. These massive buildings are the Prides' caves. The open expanses of the ruins provide any cubs with a fantastical playground.

Role: To protect the Pride, lead, patrol lands. Queen- Filled =- Leanna
Role: Lead Hunt if necessary, lead, support king, patrol, tend heirs, help other members. Advisor: Open
Role: Elder who advises the king, witnesses treaties and alliances. Shaman: Open
Role: Tribe/Prides Healer. This Lioness oversees birthing, and will tend wounded, sick, or dying lions in the hopes of reviving them. Royals: Open
Role: Princes, Princesses who are Teens or Cubs, and don't have another Pride Ranking Hunt Mistress: Open
Role: Leads the Hunt, plans and executes it. Lead Warrior: Open
Role: King's Second, Leads Warriors against Hyenas and other enemies. Hunt Sisters: Open
Role: Aid the Hunt Mistress, follow her directions, help her bring down the kill. Also help bring it back, and teach cubs to hunt. Warriors: Open

Ever since he was a cub he dreamed of giving his mother and sisters a land of their, under his protection. As he grew he watched how Rackna ruled his Pride and learned. He is a fair and wise ruler, seeking to rule through kinship then fear. Personality: At first glance Mika'il may seem to be a pompous, old-fashioned, over bearing brat, but on the second you can see that he really cares for his family. Being the only male in a group of females, he takes his role seriously. He will defend his family from anything, laying his life on the line for their safety. To his sisters he may seem overprotective but that is his way of showing his love.

While he was not the heir to the pride, he decided to leave and strengthen himself before returning to his home to avenge his father's death. Personality: His intelligence well exceeds his age, but he tends to react too quickly to situations. He is extremely loyal to everyone he cares about, and would be willing to die to save their lives.

Mika'il sat outside the ruins that were his home. The trip from Rackna's Pridelands had been short, the only eventful happening being the trip across the river. Alligator's didn't live in that part of the river, ensuring a safe passage. He would never subject his mother or sisters to a dangerous crossing such as that.
Rose eyes looked over the fallen pillars and statues. He was home.

Illitashia padded out of the small cave she had claimed among the ruins as her own home. She stretched and bowed, paying homage to the sun, and searched the area. Her son's pale coat caught her eye, and she trotted down to him, blinking in the sudden light.
"A lovely home Mika, thank you." She said softly.

Mika'il turned his head to view his mother. A sense of pride and contentment welled up inside. Illitashia approved of the Lands. "It is for you, Akitana and Amirah, Mother."

Illitashia smiled and sat, surveying the lands as he had.
"It will be for your family too.." She eyed him. "You will have a family, won't you Mika?"
Her tone was playful as she gave him a nod. "You will give me a chance to see you romp with cubs, won't you?"
The thought of him finally being happy made her heart sing. 'Please let it be so.'

The subject made the teen squirm. "Mother..." It was too soon to be thinking about cubs, wasn't it? They had just settled down! "I haven't really met any lionesses I like..."
He scrolled down the mental list. Solio was out of the question, being Rackna's sister; Jadera was...more like his sister Akitana then he cared to deal with; Kish'ya was nice, but still a cub; Tay-yibah was too fey; and the other females he hadn't met while staying with Rackna.
"Besides, it's too soon."

Illitashia laughed and bumped her son's shoulder again. "Your expressions were so easy to read dear son.. I could almost tell when you thought of Jade, because your mind went right to Aki and her wandering.. Didn't it?"
She shook her head, the smile still on her face. "Yes.. I suppose it is to soon Mika'il, King of the Desert Kingdom.. But it was a request.. One from a mother to her only son...."
She gave a little sigh. "I do so want you to be happy."

The Desert King chuffed, nudging his mother back. "I am happy when you are happy, Mother."
The teen sank to the ground, letting his belly fur soak up the heat of the dry ground. "Aki's wandering does bother me." His thoughts drifted to that ghost lion and the pheonix. She shouldn't have been with those males all alone. It made him jumpy everytime she disappeared.
