A dark figure walks in, wrapped in a black cloak. His face was not fully hidden in shadow. The shape of a strong chin could be seen and a faint glimmer of red could be seen hidden within the black depths of the shadows of the hood. The figure entered silently, pulling back the hood of the cloak and looking about. His face was ordinary, nothing anybody would take note of. No visible scars or distinctive features. His eyes appeared to be a coal black, but they seemed to hold some fiery depth and an ancient knowing. He appeared to be a Man, but he gave off that distinctive aura of something more. Something powerful. His hair was a jet black and cut short, which was odd for most of the places where Men stayed.
He made his way over to the bar and took a seat, noting how empty the place was. He probably wasn't going to get much information from this place, but a drink would be nice. He ordered himself an ale from the barkeep and sat back, waiting.

Ithilvalan yawned as she walked down the streets as the sun setted slowly. It had been a long day, and she was tired. Wrapping her dark cloak around her, she shook her black tresses. Her silly horse had decided to play games with her and ran off home while she had been busy in the streets. Groaning, she perked up as she saw a sign for the tavern. Pushing open the door, she saw that there were not many people. Ithilvalan frowned. Unusual for a pub. Nor were there any entertainers. Suddenly, her tiredness deserted her. Walking over to the hostess, Ithilvalan cleared her throat as she approached. "Good evening, mistress. I am Ithilvalan, and I'm interested in a position as a musician. I play the violin." she added, plopping her fiddle on the floor in front of the hostess. "It would be my pleasure to play tonight."

A decidedly scruffy-looking Elf (how an Elf can look scruffy is beyond this omnipresent narrator, but it's apparently possible) opened the door to the tavern. She stood, wreathed in smoke that was coming from the lit cigarette in her hand-- it must have been some newfangled way to smoke pipeweed. Her silhouette raised the hand holding it and took a long pull on it. She promptly broke into a coughing fit which lasted for several minutes.
When she'd regained her breath, she sighed heavily, coughed again at the intake of air this required, and put the cigarette in the bottle in one hand. The bottle she threw into a dustbin outside, and a cat was heard to yowl in surprise. "There goes my 'washed-up theater actor' costume," she sighed, and went to sit at the bar where everyone appeared to be gathered. She grabbed a menu and examined it.
"Ooh, sundae!" she exclaimed.

"It would be my pleasure to have you," said Estelyn, smiling affirmatively. "Welcome, welcome. It's a rather quiet place, and I'd love if you all could help me liven it up a bit."
She breathed deep, pleased with the small accomplishment of at last setting up the place. She took note of the dark figure at the end of the bar, looking rather as if he was waiting, seeking someone or something. Estelyn approached him affably enough, and inquired, "Anything I can do for you, sir?"
((Yoh-ko Rapper Ithilvalan~I'd rather we all keep to one character per person to avoid any confusion. 3nodding Please edit your post accordingly, and I'll edit mine to clear some things up.))

The man scratched his chin slightly before saying, "I'd like an ale." Most barkeepers were a wealth of information, but seeing as how this tavern seemed to have just opened, he doubted this young woman knew anything of value. Perhaps just the rumors of things in the outside world. He frowned as he thought to himself silently.

She nodded, filled a glass behind the counter and passed it to him. "Not from these parts, I deem?" She eyed him carefully, wiping her hands on a rag. Something about him was odd--ominous, perhaps. The glint of his eyes was almost unsettling. Ah, well. It did not do to intrude upon customers.
((Ah, must be off again. sweatdrop ))

His eyes narrowed a bit as he said, "No. Just passing through." He sipped at his drink for a moment. She was eyeing him and that made him restless. He wasn't one to be eyed. He was used to being unnoticeable. He was a spy and that was his job. He'd picked this form specifically for that reason.

Bored, Keldan put the menu back where it had been. She wasn't hungry anyway. She moved to a table in the corner, swept off her hat (without managing to push anything off a shelf with the long feather, she was proud to notice) and put it on the table. She then sat down and pulled out a book. If one were to look, they would have seen that it was entitled "The Socio-Economic Status of Women in Men's Country in the Third Age."

A figure wearing a grey cloak entered the tavern. Although the hood concealed their face, it was easy to see from the way the person carried their self that it was a woman. As she took a seat at a table near the hearth, she pulled back her hood. She was an elven woman with long dark hair, and her eyes were luminous and green as the forest in springtime. She looked at the menu. She was famished. She had been traveling for days, and had seldom stopped to eat. Her errand was an urgent one, and there was little time for rest.
