Hmm ... hopefully this is alright ... My sample is thus:

The dawn burst forth its blinding rays and the seemingly coma induced specimen grumbled incoherently as her roomate went through every last resort to wake her dead to the world companion. With her sweetest tone she gently began to coax Hiroshi into at least a semi-conscious state.

"IF YOU DON'T WAKE UP RIGHT NOW I'LL MAKE IT SO YOU'LL NEVER HAVE CHILDREN!" Okay .. maybe she wasn't that sweet, and maybe her idea of gentle was a swift kick in the rear. But regardless she knew just which buttons to press in order to activate the male version of sleeping beauty.

"OI! YOUR MOTHER'S HERE TO SEE YOU ... AND SHE WANTS YOU TO WATCH OPRAH!" Never in her life had she seen someone jump so high. If she didn't know better, she'd think he wet his boxers.

Sorry for the symbols. But i was all three characters.

D.Monica
Merila stretched, touching her palms flat agianst the floor and then she slowly moved back to a standing position a beaming smile in place on her full lips as she stared at her son, Damien, while Tarrant was sitting underneath the shade of a tree rubbing down his sword. Damien’s hair was a dark brown, like his mothers while his eyes were a startling green like his fathers. He had the good looks of his mother and the build of a dancer, making him fast and dexterous while also holding strength in those almost 14 year old muscles. He looked older then he really was, his face was smooth and his features seemed to be chiseled by the gods themselves. In his hand he held a rapier, his weapon of choice, and Merila held her own special blade in hand now.

"Lets go mom!" He shouted enthusiastically, his voice a almost as smooth as silk. He'd been trained in sword and in dance. Learning from both parents, not only that but Merila had taken the time to make sure he was literate and good in his studies. She wanted him to do as he wished, and as far as she knew, he enjoyed doing everything from dancing to swordsman ship as well as letters. Merila let out a joy filled laugh and launched herself at him, her movements lithe and much like a dance. Just as she'd done it decades ago. Her sword was in hand, and she used it every day attempting to master its illusionary powers. Though she rarely used them on her family, she wanted to know how to use them properly and utterly. She dashed in, rather then using her sword, and lashed out with a leg at his middle. Before she could strike him though he danced back, laughing himself his own movements much like his mothers. He was enjoying this just as much as she was, and they were having fun.

Tarrant turned his eyes towards the city, an absent smile on his face as he sat there his mind slightly away from the battle as he ran he oiled rag along the length of his weapon its sheen reflecting the sun. It was a nice day, and he was glad to have met Merila so many years ago and to have been happily married to her for so long. No one else had snatched her from him, or more or less, she hadn’t let anyone else. She was lovely, and caring, and the best mother he could ever have wished for his son. Damien was his pride and joy, and he knew that he was quite a ladys man himself. His own green eyes, much like his sons, sparkled in amusement as he turned his face back to watch his wife and son play. They were great, and the reason he’d won that womans heart had been because he’d been a gentleman. The same thoughts that he’d instilled in his sons mind. Never press yourself upon a woman, it’s the wrong thing to do. Pawing at one, fondling, it was wrong. And his son had proudly upheld that thought. Though he was 13, almost 14, he looked to be bout 17 and him and his mother brought in the greatest assortment of gold he’d seen in a while. Though lately he’d brought home quite a bit himself because he’d been promoted to Commander. He had a squad of men that were his and they patrolled this city.

Merila noticed a gap as her son launched himself at her, much like he would while dancing, and she grinned broadly quickly darting in and placing the sword against his adams apple.

“Now Now Damien. You know better then that. I taught you better” She said, grinning.

“Ah mother, look down” He said, a broad grin on his own face. In mild surprise she did, and his rapier was piercing the cloth of her crimson dress.

“Well done! Well done indeed! Now, that’s the training for today. You’re free. Behave yourself” She said, withdrawing her sword and sliding it home in its sheath that was on a broad black belt that complimented her waist.

Damien nodded, sheathing his own sword hugging his mother, waving to his father, then running off into town. He was smiling from ear to ear, he’d been doing wonders with his weapon and he wanted to go play about now. Richard, his friend, had been waiting for him patiently at the corner of one of the streets. But before he went to him, he darted into the Healers shop.

“Mistress Hiya, Mother told me to stop by and send her regards…and ask how you’ve been” He said as he spotted her, still in the room. He waited patiently for the reply.

Merila smiled, resting down next to her husband and snaking an arm behind him and resting her head on his shoulder. “He’s such a good boy, and you are such a wonderful man” She murmured softly, letting out a sigh of contentment.

~Here is a sample of my writings that I recently posted as a bump. I simply started with an image and expanded from there. Let me know what you think. 3nodding

Quote:
Andrea held out a silver 'plate' in front of her with arms fully outstretched. It had seemed like an eternity as the cabal performed the ritual around her, just outside of the circle. The exertion of holding the relic had caused her limbs to begin to tremble and sweat, a stream of liquid flowing to the bottom of her face then to the floor from the point of her chin.
She was the 'virgin' and hence she was used in many of the ceremonies and rituals of the coven. It was a busy life but she at least was rewarded for her servitude. A piece of gold here, a ring with a precious gem there, all seemed like pleasant gifts that would keep her at least beautified. The 'Drassi Order' bought her food and supplied her with a comfortable home as well. This reduced her need to go out during the day as it would allow her to not need a daytime occupation. The order preferred this as it allowed them to call upon her in the case of an emergency. The arrangement seemed flawless.

~Here is another sample that I posted on the same thread. I hate using a simple 'bump' when trying to move a thread along so I like to communicate something.

Quote:
The cry of an eagle overheard startled Martin to awakeness. He had only been mildly drowsy but a break to rest his weary bones had not been altogether without risk. 'At least I have you, Jari!' He thought as he looked up at his best friend, the wedge-tailed eagle that he had raised since birth. The young man with soft brown hair that was down to his shoulders, rubbed his weary jade-coloured eyes.
"What's a matter, girl?" he asked as she landed just above him on the limb of the huge oak. Immediately she began to scream furiously. Seeing this as a sign of danger the eighteen year-old quickly grabbed the only possessions in his world. A backpack filled with an assortment of food; a hip satchel heavy with a few large books and finally his father's lute, were all gathered up just before he started running.
"I was so stupid, girl. Sorry for making you worry." The bird took off and started to patrol the area as he moved, seeking a sign of the enemy forces that hunted her lover. A bird never usually saw a human as a mate, but due to her brain not being able to define the difference in species based on look, she had developed an affection for him.

~This is yet another random musing from an auction that I used to have something to read while waiting. Some critique is always welcome. I am not sure of my ability to write anything based on an anime style though. sweatdrop

Quote:
Taji sat cross-legged in the middle of the empty training room considering his dillemna. What am I going to do? If she doesn't like me I'm doomed FOREVER! Ever the drama-queen, the seventeen year-old slammed his undamaged wrapped hand into the wooden floor. A hole eventuated from the impact as his chaotic energy pushed through the thick timbers. There was a loud 'crack' as was made and it shocked the young man who had had trouble being called 'weak' or 'nerd'. Propping his pair of silver-colored wire-frame glasses back into place from where they had slid down, he felt awkward.
Damn! Sensei is going to kill me! Got to cover this hole up and quick, before he comes back from his walk with Madame Lindsay. came his foolish solution to the sudden problem. In the back of Taji's mind came images of having the humiliation of not just having to pay off the damages, but also the dishonour of being rebuked and expelled from the martial art academy. Quickly he came up with a plan that may or may not work, but at least he would try.

Quote:
A shadow fell over the town as the storm clouds rolled in from above the expanse of Hilton. Most just saw it simply as a natural event but those that understood the mystical realised its purpose. Inside lay a demon, lurking and waiting as he watched for his dark followers made way for him. The arch-demon smiled as he looked down at the unknowing residents of the town, understanding that they would soon fall before his might.
Somewhere on the outskirts of town in the basement of a suspersticious farmer known simply as 'Zed', lay a young woman known as Kali. Kept there forceably for the past two years she felt the dark energy from a large distance away. A chill went up her spine as the half-dragon understood the ramifications should he achieve his goals. You see, she knew this darkling from the nightmares that she'd had since early childhood. Prophets never always brought happy news and so she was eventually kept away in Zed's basement.
I have to get out of her, and real soon. There is no way in the world that I will let him conquer this town, the young woman thought as she began to try to remember every word of magic that she had seen in the books kept down here.

A few more for the road...

Quote:
I never understood why I did it, but I did it anyway. It was later recognised as one of my more stupid activities. The first punch landed on Justin's jaw pushing his head back slightly. The second clipped his square chin to the left with barely any movement whatsoever. That was when the bully finally reacted.
A huge hammer fist came down upon my head heavily. My body sagged down a bit just before his left knee rammed into my chest. "You're a nobody, Farmer! You always will be." My body couldn't take his blows at all given that Justin was built solidly. Two more blows came down upon my frame as I lay on the ground but I never felt them at all. The first blow to my head had given me a concussion resulting in everything seeming like it was a numb dream.

Quote:
Pheonix held out the palm of her hand directly outward at the monstrosity before her. Being the mutant that she was, the young woman had learnt early on that some folks never left you alone. Now the four-armed, dog-headed creature had been sent by Vega to 'acquire' Pheonix for research and she wasn't going to accept this.
Focusing her mental energies upon the abdomen of this beast, Pheonix channel the flames within to allow her pyrokinetic gift to be brought forth. A loud explosion was heard just before the following scent of burnt hair and flesh began to waft into her nostrils. When the woman looked beyond the flames though the beast was completely untouched and the body of an innocent bystander lay burnt in front of it on the floor. Pheonix could have sworn that the area was completely clear of civilians before that and began to cuss as the beast lunged at her.

(UUhhh..I need to know how long it's supposed to be...but here goes...)

Ritchi was enjoying a wonderful afternoon, listening to his Psychopathic music, and drawing (his favorite things to do), when all of a sudden, the sky became shrouded with darkness. No one knows what it is...How it happened. The clouds seemed to be spreading all over the world, and it was worrying everyone. The armies of every country were on standy by, and the government alerted the nation it a code seven alert.( A higher danger than nuclear warfare, biochemical, etc.)...

Ritchi, beleiving in the Dark Carnival, knew exactly what was happening. It was expanding across the world, to show the torment of the Wraith. The legendary 6th joker, whom is the Path of the dead, showing the good to light, which is "Shangri-La", and the sin to the darkness, Also known As "Hell's Pit". The truth of the Jeckel Brothers were about to show in everyone. Jake Jeckel, being the positivity and love in everyone, and Jack Jeckel, being the negativity and hate...

Soon, the clouds were expanded over the entire planet, leaving only small beams of light, on places of worship. The preist, and pastor's of churches, beleive it was infact the "2nd coming of christ". But soon enough, a large beam of light hit were Ritchi's house was, and it seemed out of nowhere, a whole crowd of Juggalo's & Juggalette's popped up, and all of the serial killin', axe hackin, twiztid Psychopathic Juggalo Ryders, were all on a stage, performing music for everyone's delight!

Everyone bounced around, getting very much into the music, got soaked with Faygo showers, and swung and pushed around in mash pits.

But Ritchi stood out of the crowd, although listening to the music and being showered in faygo, he stood back, keeping his eye on one of the most beautiful women he has ever seen... and soon after, he walked up to her, slowly greeting himself.

"Hey beautiful, how's it goin'?" He said, with nothing holding him back. The girl looked up at him into his eyes.
"I'm doin' fine! I'm in the best, what I'd say, concert in my life!! What's your name sexy? I'm (..hrmmm...) Keiko ( 3nodding )!" She than started getting really close to him, putting her arms around him.
"The names Ritchi baby!" He leaned out to give her a kiss, in which she accepted. They both then smiled at eachother.
"How 'bout we go to my place? It's right around the corner..?" He said with a big grin.
"How about it then?" She said grinning back at him.

And thus the Amazingly Attractive Juggalo Ritchi, and the Stunningly Sexy Juggalette Keiko were off onto a journey...To Ritchi's house.....

End.

As she lay there, Myra dreamt of her village. Her friend, Lynna was running up to her, shouting distressed nothings and begging her to follow. She followed her in dreamlike slow pace, and soon came to the source of her friends distress. her parents were lying there still on the ground, motionless. Dead. She started to run away, but she wasn't running, or seeming to go anywhere. Suddenly, a dark hand reached up from the ground and grasped her. Limp and lifeless, she just looked up to see her friend reaching out to her, before all went dark.
She felt herself falling through the darkness. The hand had gone, and she feel slowly onto a pathway below her. Getting up unharmed, she looked around her at her surroundings. They were familiar, but her mind could not place where she was. She started to walk down the path, and quickened her pace when her eyes caught a blinding light in the distance. Hoping that It might be another life form other than herself. Just as she found herself turning the corner to the source, her mind went blank once more.

(This is something I just posted in a different RP. A bit shorter than my last opening post, but I like it ^.^)

A strong gust of wind shook the trees of a dark forest, bending the trunks and occasionally snapping of a large branch. A lone wonderer navigated his way deftly through the forest, his back towards the wind, something he was very grateful for. The last thing he wanted was to run against the wind, especially at night. Oh, he had nothing against nightime, as a matter of fact, he prefered the night to the day. Being human, however, he has trouble seeing in the dark, and it'll be even harder to see if one was fighting with the wind. He's heard rumors that there was an hideout, or something of the sort, in the forest that not many people knew about. Furthermore, those who did know about it didn't want to travel though this godforsaken forest to find it.

The traveler cursed as he stopped to rest, leaning on the trunk of a larger and thus, more stable tree. He's been searching the forest for hours now. One would think that a large inn wouldn't be so hard to find. A few minutes later, the young man began walking again, and prayed that he was headed in the right direction. He wanted, no, needed to find this place. It was porbably the only place that could get him away from the pointless war against North Korea.

Half an hour later found the same traveler staring in awe at the rumored hidaway. It was huge, and very beautiful. The full moon gave the place an eerie, yet welcoming, feel. The wonderer found himself gripping the katana that hung on the side of his belt tightly. Still mystified by the beauty of the place, the young man walked towards the inn. The wind, for some reason, wasn't as intense here, only gently blowing on the cherry trees in the garden. As he got closer, he called out to the people within the building. He assumed that there were people there, considering the grand and tidy look of the place.

"Hello?! My name is Kiyoshi, and I'd like to know if I may stay here for a while!"

(Ah...and yes, in this case, my character's male. ^.^; I usually use females though...)

Hiya. Haven't text-based RP'd in ages, but I would love to get back into it. Recently joined Gaia. ^^ An introduction to my character, the Elven warrior with the "human" alias, Violet Raines.

* I felt the pebbles as they cut into my face, the taste of dirt and blood on my lips, my vision waning in and out of darkness like a nightmare. The pain in my head was unreal, my frame was racked with chill after chill. The torture of my body's natural reaction to the icy winds was agony, as torn muscles tried to clench and broken bones scraped each other. *
"She had NOTHING of value on her!"
* I whimpered at the sound of the angry voice. My fingers clenched over and over again in helplessness. *
"Where should we hide the body?"
* Noise of spit. *
"We won't, this is a road in the middle of nowheres. By the time the next traveller comes along, the maggots will have her."
* A raucous cackle. I shivered again, violently. A cry escaped my gummed lips. One of the brigands snorted, and a sharp pain to my side made my vision starburst, and fade... *
"Cut the elf's ears, make 'em normal..."
The velvet black take me, take me now, please, by the gods...
* Pain drew me back into reality...my voice was an animal's scream as the hot blood poured down the side of my face... *

* The familiar tavern is filled with smoke and song, dance and laughter. The ale begins to relax your body, and you tap your foot to the jaunty music, smiling at the barmaid who takes the empty mug before you. So jovial, the atmosphere, you wonder why there is a young lady who sits alone. Feeling a bit brave, you walk over to her table, and the first thing you notice is her expression. Lost, thoughtful. She does not look up at you at first, but when she does the fair face is gentle and friendly, framed by lovely dark hair. A worn scabbard sits comfortably against her hip. "Greetings fella. Didn't see you standing there. Don't mind me, just dreaming about the past..." She nods to the empty chair across from her, letting a smile touch her lips. "Will you sit down, tell me about this place. I'm a traveller, you see..." *

Sorry, Ive never done this kind of RPing before, and I'm not really used to it yet, but I'll do my best...
This is a back story behind me and Sid.
He's a full demon, so he ages slower throughout life, while I start to slow my aging when I become an adult.
Let's see; to contrast, in human years, he would be about 18, and I would be about 16.
It's all evened out now though... sweatdrop
My style still has a lot of static, but I'm working on it....
Sorry for all the bad grammer and spelling.
And sorry it's so long! crying

She looked down at him, her eyes wide and focused. He gripped the cliff edge with one hand, his face determined yet sad.
They stood looking into each other's eyes for what seemed like an eternity.
But suddenly the ledge he was holding on to crumbled and gave way, and Fren made quick to grab hold of his arm.
She held on, fighting against his wieght and the slippery blood and sweat that covered them both.
She pulled him up onto the remaining cliff surface, and they both tumbled over each other.
Finally, after he gathered enough strength up, Sid sat up on his knees and looked down at the ground while he caught his breath.
Fren did the same, and they sat there for a long while in silence.
After a while, Fren looked up at Sid, who was just sitting there, shaking violantly.
"Are you alright?" She asked worriedly with a smile, reaching out to touch his shoulder.
"Why?" He said suddenly and harshly.
Her hand paused in midair.
"Why? because you almost fell off of a cliff!" She said with a half-hearted laugh.
He swallowed hard and then gritted his teeth. Then with his voice shaking and his hands in a white-knuckled clench he said
"No...Why did you save me?"
Her smile faded, and her hand dropped. She looked down at his bloody hands and then back up to his face.
"Because...Because I didn't want you to die."
"But isn't that why we were fighting? Wasn't it to the death?"
"..."
"You were trying to defeat me, right? To get revenge?"
She suddenly looked surprised and hurt.
"No! I never said I was going to kill you! Maybe you were trying to kill me, but I was only going to knock you out or something!"
He glared at her suspiciously.
"And if I had won?"
She stared into his eyes intensly.
"Then I would have died."
"Well, I'm not going to fight you unless it's to the death! We both have to agree!"
She crossed her arms and looked at him with one eye opened defiantly.
"...Nuh-uh...."
Then, he visually seemed to lose all composure to rage. He looked down at the ground, and Fren could no longer see his eyes, something that made her feel uneasy.
"But you're the only one who can stop me! You're the only one that can end this!" He shouted, his voice getting louder all the time. "You have to set things right! You have to set me free!"
Shocked, her whole body stiffened, and she leaned away from him in fear. Then he looked up at her, his eyes not enraged and red, like she had anticipated and feared, but sad and defeated, and tears were flooding down his cheeks.
"I...I don't want to do this anymore...Don't you understand? I want to die...I want it to end. I just want all of it to go away, and I want to be free...It won't stop until I die...."
He started sobbing, and at first Fren didn't know what to do.
She had started shaking, too, and she forced herself to gain back control of her body.
She closed her eyes and tried to breath.
After a moment, she looked at Sid, and quietly said his name under her breath.
He was skaking from his uncontrolled sobbing, and Fren crawled over and sat in front of him on her knees.
He looked away from her in obvious shame, but she leaned in and held him close to her.
At first he resisted, but soon she felt him lean in on her and rest his body in her arms.
He was tired. He was very, very tired, and now she could really tell.
And she wouldn't let anything bad happen to anybody else ever again.
Even him. She had decided. She was going to save him.

Ooooooh....That's not so much a sample than it is a freakin' chapter!
Sorry.... crying

*walks into the bar looking for his father's black sheep brother* *walks to the bar leaning into the bartender handing him a twenty* "where is he?" * the bartender points to a corner and he walks over coming to astop in front of the cloacked figure* "where have you been YOU FOOL!!" * the table fipped over as the figure rose up pulling the sword around from his back the weapons clashed showering the crowd in sparks setting drinks on fire and scattering people left and right* "why does everything have to be so difficult with you?" Daniel said *leaping back he spun the sword around then pointed and fire and ice raced down the edges of the blade flying to the figure catching him completely off guard and barreling into his chest and smashing him through the front window sprying the line outside causing chaos to break out everywhere*

*stepping through the blasted window and towering over his uncle* "Man didn't expect that did you?" *holding out hand and gripping his uncle they turn to the owner and toss him a bag of cash and walk off into the night*

*She walked silently, relishing in the serenity of a forest deprived of civilization. The area was by no means quiet. The screeching of the nocturnal animals as they rustled through the treetops and underbrush, the buzzing of insects and the distance call of some carnivorous feline was like a soothing lullaby; calming, if not healing, the chaos within her being. She made her way to the lake that lay hidden in the center of the forest. No one would disturb her there. The water was still, a clear glass pane that reflected the glow of the swollen moon. She eased into the plush undergrowth and sighed, closing her eyes. She was nearly asleep when she sensed that something was not right. The forest became unnaturally quiet and unease began to flutter in the pit of her stomach. Then she sensed him.*

"Come out of the shadows Xavier and tell me why you've decided to follow me here," she demanded, rising and looking for the tall young man whose true image no one really knew.

*He appeared out of the darkness itself, cloaked in twilight, and gazing at her heatedly with piercing blue eyes.*

"Damali, I've decided to take you with me. Come...love...don't fight or suffer the same fate as your family did."

"What did you do to my kin Xavier?"

"They did not support our love...I had to dispose of them. Now come close. Let's share eternity together."

"For that you will die...I will never love you or feast on the life force of others like you do!" she screamed, harnessing the rage that flowed as freely as any rampant river.

*Strong winds howled around them, as the still lake water began to ripple. She mumbled a relentless string of incantations, focusing her energy, bending the wind and water to her will. She swung her left arm in his direction, her palm open, sending him flying into an enormous maple tree. He laughed as the tree cracked with the force of her blow.*

"Ah I will always love you for your fire," he chuckled disappearing and reappearing behind her and grabbing her neck with his left muscled arm.

*She struggled against his iron grip, refusing to accept the fact that he was the stronger of the two. She cringed as she felt him lick her neck slowly, his fangs only grazing her skin.*

"Get off me you b*****d! I'll never forget what you did to my family..no matter what I will kill you!

"Tsk tsk...I don't want to force you Damali...you don't know me at all. I want you to submit to me willingly. Oh and you will, you will come to me and beg for the gift you refused so ignorantly earlier. You belong to me. You are mine."

"Never! I will never forget the hate I have for you! I will die before I do what you want me to!"

*He only laughed as he rose into the air holding her dangling form. He lifted his right hand toward the heavens, dark clouds circling overhead. Fire and a black smoke descended into his hand with lightening speed, crackling as a black knife formed in his palm. He took the knife, its heat still sizzling in his palm and licked it, cutting his tongue. The blood ran freely down the blade, slowly being absorbed by the knife itself.*

"Damali, this is bloodlust. You two are going to become very friendly. This blade can never kill...but just as it thirsts for blood so will you and in the process your memory is going to be wiped cleaned. The only thing you'll remember is your name and when I call for you, you will come to me," he chuckled lifting the blade to her throat, her struggling renewed.

*He smiled as she cursed him and fought against him. He slowly sliced her throat, taking great pleasure out of her pain. The curse froze her instantly as she began to lose consciousness.*

"Damali," he whispered. "I never killed your family...but you will. Once the curse takes affect you will devour them without hesitation. You should've loved me."

*She screamed inside her head, her voice stilled by the affect of that damnable blade and a single tear rolling down her cheek as everything was swallowed in darkness.*
