Quote:
Poultrygeist (10) : As Destiny City is a bustling metropolis, it’s not unexpected that there should be some strange animals running the streets. Sometimes it’s a tiger, sometimes a monkey, sometimes a chicken. Sometimes it’s something worse. Strange egg clusters have appeared in Destiny City’s parks and officials aren’t really sure what they are; these eggs have nothing inside of them. Though it’s an anomaly, they are chalking it up to teenaged pranks. However, they have advised to just leave the eggs as they are. Nobody wants to say why, but if you’re out late at night, you’ll find out. In the darkness, whispered between the sounds of the city: a guttural, rasping cluck. The creature stands on stilt-like legs, rooted to the ground with razor-sharp talons. It wears a cloak of long, oily feathers that drag on the ground with a sinister scraping. If you stare into the darkness, piercing red eyes stare back at you. That’s all it takes for a confrontation: a mangled bird, maybe a chicken in another life, comes barreling out at you. It stands easily as tall as a person, but the proportions are all wrong. The smell of sulfur follows it as it lunges, pecking and screaming and scratching as it attempts to chase you away. Maybe, from the nests full of empty eggs. The battles are fierce, but fleeting; it will viciously try to chase you away but the effects are always the same: at some point, the eggs are crushed. As always, there’s nothing inside of them, but with one final wail, the bird will vanish into a plume of foul smoke.

Note: If you choose to encounter one of these bird-like creatures, your character will recognize they are not youma. It is impossible to tell if it is a single entity or if there are many. The bird does not seem to understand or care to listen to human words. It will always disappear in a malodorous plume of smoke and leave nothing but a foul odor and a clutch of empty, broken eggs behind. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character. This does not count as the one youma battle per stage for growth. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt.

The scent of sulfur hung heavy in the air. It made Madriu feel more than a little ill--he almost couldn't believe that a park could smell so bad, witohut there being some kind of problem. Earthlings were usually better at keeping their public spaces clean, at least in his experience--or, rather, the public spaces they left pretty and green. The back alleys and such, much less so, but this was...strange, in a pretty park with manicured flower beds and a lovely fountain.

So what was that reek?

He stepped into the clearing aorund the fountain, and was surprised to find that it looked as clean as the rest of the park he'd wandered thorugh. No trash, no rotting food, nothingt hat sheould cause the smell...

And then there was a guttural, rasping cluck, and MAdriu turned, and only had an instant to process what he was seeing.

A huge bird, strange and gangly and distinctly not a youma because he could feel no taint of Chaos from it, and most of all, it was blindingly furious. The bird charged, and before he could move ot get out of its way, it crashed into him full force, knocking him off his feet and sending him crashing to the ground. With horror, he realized that he was looking at the source of the smell--and it was very, very angry. <********," he gasped. s**t, s**t, this was not good, he needed to get away before those nasty looking claws came down on him.

Bélénos sagged with exhaustion as she let a mirrorwrath in the mirrorshard. ********, her back hurt. She stood and stretched, bending backwards with her hands on her lower back to really get her body back in tune with itself. The next mirrorwraith, the last one she'd sent out this evening, came bounding up and circled her legs. For this one, she squatted, holding out her mirror shard. It chirped happily at her and plunged into the shard with a pretty-sounding little swoosh. She straightened again and shook out her legs. Okay, maybe it was getting late, and she ought to head home before some jackass ~White Moon~ Senshi chose to mess with her for "causing problems on purpose." Which, whatever. That seemed pretty unlikely to her. She yawned and began making her way out of the park. Truly, the last thing she needed was a fight.

Naturally, the universe thought it would be funny to spin her out onto the path of a fight.

The smell hit her first. Sulfurous. She gagged a little and pinched her nose shut, seeking the source. She peered into the twilight, and though not much stood out to her immediately—within a few moments, she could certainly hear the stirrings of something big. Something she didn't want to touch. But it begged her to, anyway, calling her to duty. With a soft sigh, she trudged to the source, trying not to follow her nose as much, given the stink. Okay. She had this. Totally in the bag.

...Ah. ********. Non, not in the bag at all. Definitively not.

"Not this ******** again," she mumbled under her breath, referring to the evil turkey-like beast. Ugh.

"Watch out," she called loudly to the person on the ground, taking a deep breath in (through her mouth, thank you very much), and charging at the beast herself. She leapt on it, mostly knocking it off the senshi beneath. "Find its nest! Kill the eggs!"

s**t. s**t, s**t, s**t. She didn't want to be ******** killed by a giant turkey creature.

Madriu knew that voice. He also knew that can-do attitude, charging into a fight, and with a moment to catch his breath, he could smack his fists together and call on his magic.

"Struggle Forward!"

It wouldn't be his strongest use of magic, but it was still enough to charge him up and let him slam his fist into the chicken's side, knocking it away from Béléno.

"Good to see you again!" He said, cheerily, and then he broke away. "Find the eggs, you say? Bet I can sniff them out." His magic made him faster, as well as stronger, and he knew roughly which direction the creature had come from; it was easy enough to start running that way and keep an eye out for eggs. He felt a little bad, he supposed; the creature was just defending its nest, like those other monsters had probably thought they were just defending their pond. But, of course, a mother monster was terribly dangerous, and he couldn't just leave a thing like that to menace people who had less capability to defend themselves from razor claws and raging beaks.

Sometimes, there was only one solution.

his eyes finally fell on the nest, and with a swift and heavy step, he crushed the eggs beneath his boot.

The empty eggs.

Madriu frowned down at the perfectly dry debris below him. What sort of fowl laid empty eggs? Empty eggs that smelled awful and rotten, strong enoguh to make him stagger back?

"Oh, that's absolutely vile," he groaned, glancing back towards Bélénos. Hopefully she was holding her own with the monster.

Quote:
Madriu calls the name of his attack, punches his fists together, and is surrounded by a golden aura. For the next 30 seconds, he will receive physical boosts equivalent up to twice his natural ability, giving him the power to struggle against difficult odds. He becomes physically stronger and for the duration of his magic feels no pain. He will also receive a minor speed boost. To achieve the full boost of his magic, he must be actively struggling, and the more dire the situation is, the more damage he can do. He can use this magic up to twice per battle.

Bélénos grinned at the acknowledgement, quite pleased with herself. Madriu knocked the wind out of the evil turkey-chicken-thing's lungs and left it wheezing long enough for her to clamber back to her feet and retreat a little, leaving her ready to keep it distracted. She wouldn't let it get near Madriu. Not again. He knew what he was doing now that she'd directed him.

"Come on," she taunted the foul fowl. "Come at me."

It screamed in defiance. Then, Madriu must have found and popped the eggs, because it then wailed in grief, dissipating in a cloud of rank stench that had her eyes watering. "Groooooss."

She waved it away, limping a bit towards where she'd seen Madriu take off into the wooded park area. "It's gone! You did great. Thanks," she called out to him. "God, these things suck and smell disgusting. I've had to fight them a couple times—they started showing up last year, nasty little ********. As long as you destroy its nest, it vanishes. In the most stinky way possible. But it goes."
