Lincoln Academy of Wizardry

Located near St. Charles Parish, Louisiana, the Lincoln Academy of Wizardry serves magical students from Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. The Lincoln Academy of Magic was founded in the fall of 1865 to serve the growing magical population of the Southern states following the American Civil War. Because of the culture of the United States at the time, the school's founders made the decision not to have houses at all, not wanting to separate the students in any way. Dorms, which are only separated by gender, and class schedules are random. Lincoln's C.A.T.s happen at the end of the first year, and W.I.T.s happen during their sixth year.
Lincoln Academy is a Southern Colonial mansion on the banks of a large river. Thick swamps on all sides protect it, but the school grounds are expertly manicured. There are several greenhouses, acres of garden, a Quidditch pitch, and other sports fields.

C.A.T's, or Cumulative Assessment Tests, are taken by first-year students. This exam is a standardized aptitude test to gauge the knowledge of incoming students, which allows staff members the advantage of tailoring their curriculum to best suit the needs of their students.
The W.I.T.S, or, Wickedly Insidious Test of Skills, is the equivalent of the United Kingdom's N.E.W.T level final exams and is taken by sixth years.
