2026 Star Festival Prompt
The Wishing Tree (2) : Your wish is only said to come true if you grant the wish of someone else; when you write your wish, you must also take one off of the tree and do your best to grant it. What wish do you pull off, and how do you intend to 'grant' it? Do you work with someone else to grant this wish, or do you work alone? You may get approval from another player to use the wish their character hung up, but no names are attached so your character may not ever know who wrote it!

Sailor Dubhe approached the Wishing Tree late that night, looking up at a tree adorned with lights like stars and wishes. Hopes of everyone from Destiny City, and for a moment she wondered why such things seemed not to exist on her Homeworld. Though, the thought did not linger -- Sailor Dubhe instead examined the wishes with care, fingers lightly touching the seed paper. She had gotten so used to gardening for her homeworld, her mind was dancing over prime spots... If she didn't tease her grandfather with a patch in his front yard. But she was looking for just the wish she could grant, fingers dancing over each until finding a slip of paper and pausing at another aura, and she stopped to look, blue eyes blinking before she smiled.

Hopefully, someone who was friendly, or in no mood to fight. Hopefully no one was hurt -- because while she could help, it still felt heartbreaking.

It still felt... Sad knowing people in the war died, or were hurt. And while she wasn't a pacifist any longer, she still healed first, then fought, so Dubhe was attentive before calling.

"Hello there!" She called, cheerful. "It's a lovely night!"

Kissling hesitated, also unsure whether or not the White Moon Senshi was more of the violent type, but happily responded when she greeted him warmly. "Hi!" he called back, waving enthusiastically as he skipped over. "Yeah, it really is! Ooh, are you looking at the wishing tree? Any good wishes to grant?"

Upon coming closer, he noticed the other senshi was blond like him, but his hair was more sandy-colored than hers. Her eyes were also blue and while her fuku was mostly purple and white, his was mostly pink and black. "I'm Sailor Kissling! Dark Mirror Senshi of Kisses," he introduced himself. "What's your name? Are you here alone?"

Dubhe lit up instantly, approaching and beaming bigger. She only hated youma. Negaverse agents were just doing their job, same as corrupts, and she beamed, recalling.

"Oh! I'm Sailor Dubhe! Senshi of Sahasrara. It's..." She knew it was an esoteric sphere. "It's sort of like an enlightenment thing, I think. Oh, but I'm a healer, to sum it up. I think Susanoo's mentioned you! He's my cousin! Would you like to help grant a wish with me?"

One meeting. Susanoo obviously communicated with those he knew, but plainly Dubhe found his information favorable enough to just invite Kissling along for the night. No judgements, no anger -- warmth and even joy meeting a person Susanoo plainly liked.

"Susanoo's been hoping to run into you again some time, you know!" Dubhe beamed.

"Sahasrara?" he repeated, curious, but Dubhe was already explaining. "Oh! That's really cool! Wait, you know Susanoo?" His expression brightened. "You're cousins?! That's amazing! And I would love to help grant a wish with you!"

Hurrying to her side, he looked among the papers that the wishes had been written on only to feel that he had stepped on something and looked down. It was a sapphire star charm. Delighted by his find, he picked it up and put it away. Then he went back to reading what wishes he could on the wishing tree.

"Really?" he asked, surprised at Dubhe's news. "I've been wanting to meet him again, too! It's really a shame we can't contact each other since we're different factions. But is he here tonight?" Kissling looked around, as though expecting to see the Senshi of Tengu somewhere nearby. "Or is he busy? Do you guys patrol together?"

Dubhe beamed, hugging Kissling without concern, just happy. "Yes! I trade information with him and his... Team? Friends? Even if we're not always visiting. So you don't worry." She winked.

"Besides, I hate fighting unless I need to. It just feels so..." A sigh. "Needless."

Dubhe examined wishes beside Kissling happily, smiling warmly. Dubhe looked when he found the star charm and lit up, peering just a bit deeper in the tree before fishing a fuchsia star charm out, and lit up, showing him.

"Look! We're Star buddies!" She exclaimed. No hesitance. She was happy.. When he asked about Susanoo, Dubhe motioned.

"He's busy tonight. He's doing some summer work for his civilian life. He wants to help the powered population cope with some of the mental strain of the war. But I can tell him I hung out with you, see about talking him into meeting up some night soon. I know a coffee place who think the powered population is a pack of cosplayers, so we can plan over coffee and pastries on meeting without suspicion or powering down." Dubhe beamed. And technically, Ezekiel was working. She didn't out that he was on shift tonight.

Kissling seemed surprised that Dubhe was willing to hug him so suddenly, but it didn't take long for him to accept it and happily hug her back. "That's so cool! You're not a part of his 'team', though? Do you two live far away from each other or something?"

The sandy blond nodded in agreement at Dubhe's comment that fighting felt needless. "Yeah. That's why I'm pretty glad my senshi magic makes people not want to fight anymore. Or at least not want to be violent anymore, I think. What's your magic do?"

He looked through the wishes while Dubhe did, wondering if there was one or more he could grant as well, when the other senshi reached through the tree's branches and pulled out a star charm of her own. Dubhe then pronounced them both 'star buddies', at which Kissling laughed delightedly. "Hey, you're right! That's awesome!!"

Listening to Dubhe remark on Susanoo's absence, Kissling recalled what the Senshi of Tengu had said about wanting to help people. "Oh, that's a shame," he murmured. Then brightened back up. "But I'm sure it'll be worth all his hard work in the end!" Beaming at Dubhe, he said, "You'll really tell him? Thank you! It'd be nice to see him again sometime, but since I can't really contact any White Moon Senshi, I can't talk to you guys." Giggling, he added, "I'm lucky a bunch of you seem to know each other pretty well."

Dubhe beamed.

"It's a good place though one of them or a few have my drunk order memorized. Matcha, cream, lemon, sugar." Dubhe giggled. She was going to give her cousin a full ration of s**t. Then her expression softened and her hand rest on Kissling's shoulder.

"There's ways. You don't need phones. I used to have a friend whom was a corrupt senshi. It helps to arrange times and places, account for events. If you two wanted for example, if the time and place work often, you can make it weekly. Then there's note locations, and the like. That's if you don't seek a court change." Dubhe shrugged. "But I don't know how those work. And those should be personal decisions, I feel."

Because it was a lot, she understood. Work, and it was effort, and...rebuilding, likely. "A support network, even if the same court." Dubhe smiled. "It's why I worked with him to share information about friendly people. So then, others know, there's no mix-ups, and we can look after one another."

Silent, unspoken promise. 'I will look out for you'. Soft. Gentle.

"You had a friend who was a corrupt senshi?!" Kissling repeated, looking awestruck by the notion. "Oh, yeah...come to think of it, I think we did settle on a time and place. I need to write it down so I remember," he realized, looking concerned. He hoped he hadn't made Susanoo wait on him and not shown up when he was supposed to just because he had forgotten.

And then Dubhe mentioned a court change. That wasn't something Kissling had seriously thought about before, but he thought about it then. There seemed to be far more White Moon Senshi than Dark Mirror Senshi, but...how did one go about changing their courts? Would it be difficult? Painful, even, perhaps? Would he have to give anything up? He wasn't sure, but maybe it was worth looking into. It seemed kind of lonely being a Dark Mirror Senshi even if he might have known a few others in his court. He rarely got to interact with them and they didn't seem to team up for much. Going energy gathering with a whole slew of Mirrorwraiths all at once would probably have been asking for trouble.

"Thanks for the idea," the blond told her gratefully. "Maybe I'll try to see what a court change would take." Alternatively, though, it might have been nice just to be friends with people from different factions. That way they could help one another out like Susanoo wanted to do regardless of their own faction. Like if Susanoo wanted to know what Dark Mirror Senshi needed his help as a therapist, Kissling could connect him with some. "Might be nice to have an inter-court support network, too. Or inter-faction." If those were even words. But he was sure Dubhe would understand what he meant just the same.

"Thank you," Kissling said when Dubhe told him she would look out for him. She seemed genuine about it. He smiled back. "I'll make sure to look out for you, too. You and Susanoo and the others. It'd be nice to all be able to stay friends and get along no matter what factions we're in."

"I know there's videos on Youtube about...Drop points and making false rocks and things online." Dubhe was going to help. No pushing sides, no shame. Then she paused.

"Wait. I can't set up an interfaction network, I think we'd need cats but I can probably build something for indicating drop points. Subtle things most won't notice." Dubhe was thinking. "Drones too obvious.... Maybe something as simple as a small means of marking a stone with insects... Wire fiber optics to light like fireflies at night..." Dubhe paused.

"Sorry. I'm an engineer." She laughed nervously.

"And I'm always happy for more friends. I know Susanoo has two others. Oumuamua is the Senshi of Beer, apparently she says a cat rewarded her with more responsibility lately, so he thinks she's a super senshi, and then there's Gagarin. He's... Susanoo worries he's reckless." She sighed. "He forgets he was when he began."

"Don't be sorry! That's amazing!" Kissling told Dubhe, astounded by her innovative and creative ideas. "I'm sure we could find some cats eventually, too! We never know how far we might be able to get unless we try."

He smiled at hearing about Susanoo's other friends. "Oh, yeah, I met Gagarin, too! He was funny," the blond laughed. "He got really red when I used my magic on him. I haven't met Oumuamua before, though! Wonder what she's like."

He beamed at Dubhe. "I bet with everyone's help, we could make a really good network."

Sailor Dubhe grinned brightly, smiling with warmth at Kissling as she nodded. "We can work together!" She promised kindly.

And then she giggled.

"Gagarin blushed?!" Dubhe giggl3ed. "I want to hear about that! And Oumuamua's sweet. She's just a little bit chaotic and awkward, but she means well. And seems smart. You might like her." Dubhe smiled. "I'll get Susanoo to try to coax her back out. Her basic stage was rough, so powering more has her a little scared." A pause. "Maybe a new friend not on out court will help ease it. Knowing she has someone to rely on." A pause. "Now c'mon, we can chat and fulfill wishes together!"

Because Dubhe? already decided this was her new friend, chaos or not.
