User ImageThe sisters, Asali and Kuuma, had been traveling the roguelands for most of their adult lives. Some experiences had been good, some had been bad, and some had been downright nightmarish. It wasn't easy surviving on the own, especially after the rumors of cannibals started to spread throughout the roguelands, but the sisters had gotten through it by sticking together and always putting each other first. Most of the time, Asali was okay with that, but lately she had found herself longing for something more in their lives. Purpose. A male. A family. It wasn't enough to simply survive anymore. As much as she loved her sister, and she did dearly, there was only so much loneliness she could take.

"You're doing it again," Kuuma, the smaller and darker of the sisters, spoke up. She could always tell when Asali had something on her mind, and she wasn't afraid to speak up about it.

"Doing what?" Asali asked, giving her dark pelted sister a side-longs glance as they walked through the brush of the savannah, looking for a shade tree to rest under while the sun burned brightly above them.

Kuuma shook her head. Unbelievable. "There's something you want to say, so spit it out. I can't take this silence anymore." And it had been silent for several hours. There was only so much quiet walking she could take in a day.

"Ah," Asali replied with a sigh, letting the silence hang between them a few moments longer. She could feel the tension gathering from Kuuma beside her, but wasn't certain if she was ready for the inevitable fight this particular subject would stir up. Ultimately, she decided she was tired of holding back. "I need a man." There. Plain, and simple. Even Kuuma couldn't skirt the subject now that it was out in the air.

"What?!" the dark pelted sister balked, stopping in her paw steps to stare hard at her sister. "Why? They're nothing but trouble!" At least, the one's they had run into so far had been. Seasons ago Kuuma had thought she'd found one she could trust, but he'd only wound up leaving her with a broken heart and a few broken bones to boot. Since then, she'd taken to biting first and asking question later.

"Ooh, come now! They can't all be like that!" She hoped anyway. The sisters certainly hadn't had the best of luck in that department. Whereas Kuuma had adopted a particularly viscous outlook when it came to males, Asali still held out hope. If she was ever going to raise a family of her own, she had to believe there were at least a few good males out there to try with. The hard part in all of this? Well, that would be convincing Kuuma, and that was no easy feat.
