Quote:
Shock Mark (11) : Thunderstorms are common this time of year, but what’s not common is the number of people reported being struck by lightning. Strangely, people are surviving with only minor, if any, injuries at all. Being struck can feel like a static shock, or can feel like a sudden flash of heat, and targets are left with a strange lightning mark across their body. If your character encountered the Calamitous Hollow, they may find that the lightning marks have a strange, serpentine shape, and may even seem to slowly twist over their skin, as if alive. Though the marks will fade, for their duration–up to a full week after being struck, you might notice that you are more prone to static shocking yourself or others, and you may notice electronics charging or overcharging and malfunctioning. The marks can take longer to fade at player discretion, or players may choose for them to fade into pale, lifeless scars, but otherwise there are no lasting effects.

Dzhalindite was doing her normal thing, and it looked like it might storm, which wasn't really odd considering the weird storm she had gotten caught in that had moved her across town. This city was full of weird things; there was no telling what would happen next. People being struck by lightning, however, wasn't normal it was supposed to be a rare thing. From what she was hearing lately, it hadn't been a rare thing. She really couldn't think of how that would benefit the negaverse. She had heard the order members looking down on her as a parasite. She wondered in times of weakness if it was true.

What was their goal? What was the point? Gathering energy forever. She sighed and shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts yet again. Dz moved along, and she felt another nearby, and yet again it was an order member. She rolled her eyes. Of course, it was another order member it was always another order member getting in her way and ruining her day. They just couldn't mind their own business. They never could. Dz didn't think they were all that evil. Well, some did drain people to death, but that wasn't a big deal, right?

Bacchus hadn’t been present on Earth when the Calamitous Hornworm or whatever it wanted to call itself had been rampaging around, but it had been the only thing powerful enough to affect anything through the Chaos back there. At the time he’d thought the purple lightning was just another illusion courtesy of the planet’s ubiquitous spores, but gods know how many volts crashing through his nerves quickly relieved him of that idea.

From what others had told him the wretched thing had proven itself quite a performer for those with views unobstructed by centuries of Chaos’ sky grime, and whatever was causing this mess hadn’t bothered to take the stage. Regardless, the deep space senshi was in no hurry to repeat the experience.

“Oh for ******** sake.”

All those years he’d spent surrounded by Chaos had made him perhaps a bit slower than he should have been, at least when it came to registering energy signatures as something other than background noise. There were other elements in play of course, if he was willing to admit that to himself, but it seemed a small price to pay for the moments of quiet it afforded him. His mind twitched at the sight of the all too familiar agent, a scowl streaking across his face. Her youth hadn’t been apparent during their previous tussle, but in the light of this electrical show he could see that she was barely out of adolescence. Of course Chaos had to start feeding on them young, like any other predator. Easier to snap them up when they were vulnerable, after all.

Ugh.

More than he wanted to consider.

She found them, and she looked on, confused, as they jumped around dodging lightning bolts. Well, that was really weird. She had never seen anything like this before. She needed to be careful too in case the magic or storm, whatever it was, went after her instead. Just as she thought it she had to dodge a hit. This clearly wasn't the time to fight, but she doubted the order member would see it that way. After all, as a nega soldier, Dz was bad. She wasn't really in a mocking mood today, so she decided not to say anything this time. She looked at the figure; she was pretty sure she had run into them before, but she didn't know their name. Dz sighed and jumped away.

This storm was kinda familiar to her, but she couldn't put her finger on what it was. She rolled her eyes and shook her head. Her thoughts had been really stupid lately. "Strange weather we are having. " She said, going with small talk since she couldn't think of what else to say at the moment. She didn't want to just stand around looking at him in silence.

Under different circumstances, from a different person, Bacchus might have found the agent’s flippancy amusing but it was a struggle for him to find anything pleasant about the rootless pricks who served the force that had devoured what life that frustrating rock carried.

“s**t! ******** lightning bolt crashed into the pavement beside him, raising his hair ever so slightly as his ears rang with the impact. Scrambling away he looked around wildly for evidence of any other incoming strikes.

“We need to get the <********> under something.” His voice came out in waves of fury and disgust directed as much at himself as at the stranger.

Maybe he still didn’t have the stomach to watch another person ******** stupid.

They were parasites letting some vicious ancient entity suck their own planet dry. Every one of them taken out of the game was for the greater good and he couldn’t let it happen. The most foolish parts of him wouldn’t put them to the blade or anything else.

Couldn’t even let something else do the job for him. It should be easy to walk away.

“Unless you’re interested in becoming roast fíwidh. I won’t stop you there.” He made a face as he spoke, clearly quite irritated with the situation.

Dz knew the person didn't like her; that was as clear as the sky wasn't, and she nodded, but she wasn't really sure where they were going to go. "But where are we going to go? We can't hide under a tree that's asking for trouble." She said, "Maybe if we head back towards the city, we can find a shop to hide in?" She suggested. She found it interesting that this guy was willing to put aside his hate for her for them to get to safety. These order members were really weird. That one acted like she didn't even know they were supposed to be enemies.
