Quote: The Fireflies (6) : In the warm summer nights, little glowing lights begin to bob and dart through the city. Fireflies are mating, so this isn't uncommon in itself; in the past few days you've probably seen hundreds of fireflies. What makes these lights so unique is that they seem to change color; you might see a blue one, a green one, a red one. They flicker randomly, and something just seems off with them. If you come into contact with one, you will find yourself with a strange electric jolt. They cannot be caught, and will flicker away if you pursue too aggressively. This isn't the first time they've appeared in Destiny City, but no one's been able to tell where they came from or where they're going. No matter how quickly you chase them, they always seem to disappear before you can find any answers. Delos. It was a name that was still foreign to the fresh knight, yet somehow all too familiar at the same time, like something she always knew at the back of her mind. It was still so strange to be magical, to be a whole a** magical girl, complete with magical transformation and all that. It blew her mind on a regular basis whenever she thought about it.
With great power came great responsibility, or so the superhero comics and movies said. So here she was, doing her duty and looking for bad guys. Or whatever. Because how would she recognize a “bad guy” anyway? How did this nonsense even really work? Sighing softly, Delos shook her head and removed the pin from her hair, staring down at it as if it would answer her if she stared hard enough. When no answer came from the object, obviously, she sighed again and twirled it in her fingers as she continued to walk. At least it she did get into a fight, she could go for the eyes with the hairpin. It wasn't exactly a “weapon”, but really, she supposed anything could be utilized in a pinch if she needed to do so. The fact this fit in her hand perfectly and could absolutely at least hurt someone? Bonus points.

Trier was relieved that she hadn’t found any eggs tonight, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t something odd about the night. The fireflies were back and she was watching from a safe distance this time, the idea of catching one far from her mind, though when she saw the brightly colored woman nearby, and felt the aura of a Page, she sighed softly, shaking her head slightly.
She wasn’t meant to be a mentor. She wasn’t good at helping. If it wasn’t her siblings, she just didn’t care.
Period.
Most likely.
Nodding her head at the woman she turned her eyes back to the fireflies, fingers running over the Opal Star Charm she had found that night. Two of them, actually. Stuck together. They were lovely but she didn’t need two. Oh well.

Delos perked up as she saw someone nearby, making her way closer. Whoever she was, she looked stunning, and the feeling she got from her said that she might also be part of this magical nonsense. Fireflies seemed to dance around the woman, making Delos find her even more enchanting.
“Hope I’m not interrupting. Um. Would I be right in guessing you’re…like me?” How did she even ask that anyway? How did one walk up and just casually ask if a magical trinket transformed her one day? Delos smiled awkwardly, reaching up to brush a firefly away from her face and yelping as it… did it bite her? Sting her? What was that?

“Don’t touch the fireflies. They sting. Or shock you. Living up to their name of lightning bugs, I suppose.” She turned back towards the woman and made her way closer. “I’m Trier. Squire of Saturn. You’re new to this? I’m not sure…what…”
She had seen other Knights with bright colors, but this was a new one, and the symbols were just…stars.
Interesting.
“I’m not sure what type you are. You’re bright, but different than the Lysithea Knight I met, who are you?”

“Huh, good to know. Bitey lil jerks.” She squinted at the little glowing bugs before smiling at the woman. “I’m Delos. I…think Windsor said I’m a Cosmos knight? I’m uh. Very new to this all though, yes.” She gave another sheepish smile. “Saturn though… you look absolutely gorgeous, Trier. Stunning, really.” She wanted to continue complimenting her, but had a feeling that she would start rambling if she did.
“Lysithea… that isn’t a name I recognize. Though that isn’t saying much considering I’ve only met one other magical person so far.” She laughed softly as she twirled her hairpin absently. “Have you been…yknow, part of all this for a while?”

Trier blinked and then gave a soft huff of laughter. “Cosmos. Haven’t heard about that one. I’ve been involved…for a while. Sometimes it feels like too long and other times it feels like I’ve never actually accomplished anything at all.”
She knew that the city was weird.
“This city has all sorts of weird things. I’ve been around long enough to get some scars. I suppose that’s telling. Here.”
The second star charm was held out and Trier shrugged. “It sort of matches you. I had two.”

“Seems like we’re both still learning things then.” She laughed softly, feeling lighthearted and decidedly glad that her complimenting wasn’t taken too awkwardly.
“Oh! Thank you!” Delos gently took the little charm, looking at it with a bright smile. “It’s lovely!” Carefully, Delos attached the charm to her hip. “There, what do you think? It isn’t nearly as dazzling as you are, but it’s a close second~.” Was she laying it on a bit thick? Definitely. But Delos was a simple woman. She saw a pretty girl, and she flirted. Easy as that.
“Would you mind if I accompanied you for a bit? You seem to definitely know more about what might be going on this time of year than I do.”

The soft laugh again, and Trier looked away for a moment, feeling…embarassed. Or something akin to it.
Gross…
“Ah. I’m not. Much of a mentor. But I guess so. I’m not sure how useful I’ll be to you.” She was getting by just barely, and really…didn’t feel up to guiding anyone…still.
She wouldn’t be as demanding as some...and she did like the idea of more friends involved in this. People she could let her guard down with, at least somewhat. “You can if you want to. I won’t stop you.”

Delos tilted her head. “Only if I'm not an inconvenience. I don’t want to be a bother or anything.” She smiled warmly, not wanting to overstep. “If it helps, we could just…walk together as friends then? Rather than looking at it like you being a mentor?”
Another lightning bug flittered closer, moving towards Delos’s face. Her eyes crossed as it landed on her nose and she went utterly still, not wanting the damn thing to zap her in the face. “.....that being said, would you uh. Mind gently getting this off my face please?”

“I can do friendship. I shouldn’t ever give up the chance for more friends.”
Her eyes went to Delos’ nose and she paused, looking thoughtful. The first reaction was to smack it. But that would just end up causing more trouble than it was worth and more pain than both of them needed but…
The temptation was high. Instead, she moved closer and simply blew into the Page’s face, hoping that would get the firefly to leave. Hopefully her breath wasn’t too bad either. Perhaps this wasn’t the best plan but…hey. Desperate times.

Delos felt her cheeks color as Trier got closer. She blinked and held incredibly still, letting the little bug fly away and relaxing with a small laugh. “Thanks. Really. I didn’t relish the idea of getting zapped in the face.”
Rocking back on her heels, Delos grinned up at Trier. “Shall we then?”

Trier nodded and after taking a moment to make sure that the area was free of other auras, and that there were no sounds of people. When she was sure, she let her powered side fade. “I’m Sabrina when I’m not fancy. And trust me. I’m not fancy.”
There was no use in getting anyone’s hopes up that she actually dressed like Trier on a daily basis.

Delos’s eyes widened and she let her own transformation drop as well. “In that case, I’m Kore. Pleasure to meet you, Sabrina!” Her civilian clothes were even more colorful than she was as a knight, and her hair and face were full of glitter as well. If Lisa Frank and a glitter factory had exploded, the woman standing there would easily be the result. “I’m not fancy or anything either, but I do like my colors.”
