Quote: Flower Power (15) : Destiny City has erupted with colorful wildflowers, both beautiful to look at and surprisingly fragrant. The aroma is incredibly alluring, and it's difficult not to be tempted to get a closer whiff. As expected, it smells even more amazing up close, and immediately after inhaling the aroma, colors seem brighter. Lights appear softer. The world takes on a warm, dreamlike quality where everything feels just a little more magical. Some describe glowing trails of light, shifting colors, or patterns that seem to move when they aren't looking directly at them. Others find themselves unusually cheerful, creative, or sociable. Unfortunately, not every experience is pleasant. What begins as a pleasant daydream can quickly become overwhelming, and the same flowers that inspire wonder in one person may leave another feeling confused, anxious, or trapped in an unpleasant hallucination. The effects always fade with time, maybe a few minutes, maybe a few hours, but no one seems quite sure why these flowers have such unusual properties. If you're the type to stop and smell the roses--be careful. First week of summer reading, complete. It gave her a nice feeling, as she stuffed the stack of books she had completed into subspace, and prepared for a patrol in the general direction of the library. Just a short patrol; summer reading was serious business. Fortunately, she didn't need to carry more books back, as she still had a couple books left to finish; the chibi just wanted to ensure the books she had finished reading got back to the library ahead of schedule, in case anyone else wanted to read them.
Looking at the beautiful day, sunny, but not overwhelmingly hot and muggy, Aquitania made a mental note to herself to sit outside and read when she got back, as it was altogether too lovely a day to spend reading inside. Better to spend that time reading outside, so she still got to enjoy the great weather and the smells of the flowers and the sounds of the animals and all the other signs of the rest of the world enjoying such a nice day.
She had stopped long enough to pet Neit, and tell both Neit and Khaz where she was going, and then she'd been off, transforming in the backyard, and then practically skipping along the road toward the library. That said, she did pay attention to where she was going, obeying all the rules of pedestrian traffic, as well as keeping a few brain cells free to try to detect signs of anything bad going down in Destiny City. Though, frankly, not all of them would come with a power signature. After all, it was Starfest, and, being a festival, that meant that supernatural stuff was bound to happen, though not all of it would be bad. Far from it. Aquitania still remembered those cute little shrines that had popped up last year, among many other fascinating and unusual occurrences.
It was as she was entering the park that contained the library that she noticed something strange. But hopefully not in a bad way.
The park was filled to the brim with colorful wildflowers, and the scent mixed strong floral notes with deliciously fruity notes in an utterly dreamy kind of way. Even the sunlight seemed a bit different....
The colors seemed to brighten...and shift...leaving almost glowing afterimages on her eyelids when she closed them....
Dreamily, the chibi wandered off the path and into the wildflowers, blithely picking ones that had long, pliable stems with sturdy blooms, ideal for flower crowns and daisy chains, and settled down to try to weave them together, letting down her guard in a way that would have been dangerous if anyone hostile was around, and could resist the allure of the wildflowers growing around the library. Daisies, asters, black-eyed susans, marigolds, buttercups, primroses, dandelions, clover, cosmos, zinnias, poppies, lavender, delphinium, and so many, many others Aquitania couldn't put a name to joined the massive pile she gathered before her as she started to bind the flowers together into a colorful array.

It'd been a weird day.
Pretty, but weird.
One second he was taking his usual path away from the library, ducking behind a cluster of trees to power up so he could get at least a little patrol on along the way. Then the next thing he knew he was flat on his back in a field of fragrant wildflowers, stretched out and looking perfectly comfortable where he lay. And he was comfortable, which was maybe even more surprising because he didn't usually enjoy laying out in grassy fields without a blanket of some kind.
But no, the young knight wore a rather dreamy looking smile as he stared up at the sky, barely noticing the world pass him by.
The Order signature that appeared rather suddenly caught his attention at last, and he turned his attention away from the expansive blue overhead and toward the direction of the owner of that signature. He lifted his head just enough that he could peek out across the rather large flower bed. On spotting the likely owner, he gave a sudden laugh and waved energetically at the...senshi?
Were they a senshi?
"Hi!" he greeted, traces of laughter in his voice. "Are you a senshi?"

If the scent of the wildflower field weren't having such a strong impact on her mood, the chibi probably would have screamed in surprise, as she was not paying enough attention to register the other energy signature.
As it was, Aquitania grinned widely, and waved to the knight. "Hi! I'm a senshi, and you're a knight!" she chirruped cheerfully. "Wanna make some flower crowns with me? I've got a lot of flowers already!" she added eagerly.
Somewhere in the back of her mind, she tried to identify which planet the knight's Wonder hailed from, as she'd never seen this knight before. The color and the styles and the little stylized "4"...it looked like....
"Heeeyyy, are you a Jupiter knight?" she asked excitedly. "I've got another friend who's a Jupiter knight. He's teaching me to fight real good." Tortuga was a good friend, helping her out so youma and the other forces of Chaos didn't use her as a chew toy. A very squeaky chew toy. She couldn't help but giggle at the mental image, as she was vaguely aware that this was probably not a good thing to giggle over, particularly around a stranger. This knight might get the wrong idea.
But first...
First came the flower crowns and daisy chains.
"Let me know if you need any help with the flowers!"itspao_ I think this might wind up being one of my favorite prompts this year, given how wide the potential range of responses to the flowers could be.

"Ooooh, flower crowns," mused the young knight as he adjusted himself so he could properly sit down. It was nice to have company, and it would probably be rude if he stayed lying down while they talked and made flower crowns and whatever else. It actually hadn't occurred to him to do anything like that with the flowers. While he enjoyed working with his hands, up until that moment he had contented himself with simply being in the fragrant little field.
"I've never made them before, but sure! That sounds like fun. I could give one to my mom!" At that he started gathering up flowers for the crown he imagined would look the best on his mother.
"And yes, I am a Jupiter knight," he confirmed after a beat, though his focus was still on the very slowly forming crown. "What gave it away? And who's your friend? They sound like good people, looking out for you and stuff."

"I can help if you need anything! And that sounds like a great idea! I think I should make flower crowns for everyone, me, my brother, my mom, Neit..." she trailed off. Her father...was currently away. And not expected back soon. He wouldn't get to enjoy the flowers as they were now. But he could always appreciate them later, after they were dried, right? "Also my dad. I'll have to dry his first, though, since he's not home right now."
The chibi began dreamily selecting different colors for different people, yellows and whites for Khaz, pinks and reds for herself, blues and purples for Neit, blues and whites for her mother, blues and yellows for her father as she talked.
"Tortuga! He's a squire. He wears some of the same colors, but more green than rose. And he's got the same stylized '4' you're wearing. And he's great, he lets me practice with him, and helps me figure out how to fight bigger and stronger people, cuz I'm a chibi, so my magic isn't real stable, and it's magic for morale, anyway," she babbled cheerfully. Bad thoughts about wishing her magic was more stable like her elder brother's magic just seemed to melt away into the dreamy sea of flowers around them, and she began to bind the flowers together for Neit, since hers would be small, and quick to do.
"If you ever want, I could introduce him to you, or practice fighting with you!" Aquitania offered cheerfully.
